Why are you applying for Security Captain?

My answer remains the same from why I wanted to be a Sergeant: I believe that the performance, behaviour and conduct of GSD has a significant influence on people's first impressions of the server & game. Accordingly, my aspirations are for a position where I would be better equipped to influence and guide GSD to positive change, and help with sustaining what good we already do.

I am also eager to apply some of my real life experience with mentoring & teaching to the position. As a Captain, I will be better equipped to host my own trainings, lectures & RCL/HWL tryouts which will directly improve our ability to field response & containment units. I also would like to partake in some "train the trainer" initatives, where I can help guide Sergeants & other Captains on some leadership principles.

Lastly, I want the freedom to explore potential operations involving D-Class, especially for low-pop/low RSD situations. These operations would focus on improving their experience, giving them opportunities to learn & explore (within reason) as well as making Trustees more valued.

What makes you suitable for Security Captain?

In my time as a response unit & sergeant, I have demonstrated some of my suitability by mentoring & training up to 20 cadets, leading (or assisted in leading) multiple sweeps, supervising & organising security in D-Block, delegating tasks where necessary, and even assisting with a couple work permits/internships. I also have extensive experience in leadership, training, delegation and conflict resolution that will help me accomplish my aspirations and excel as a captain.

What are the responsibilities of the Security Captain in RP?

Captains are responsible for leading GSD, and setting the standard for how security should act. This includes:
- mentoring and guiding all GSD from the newest cadet to the oldest Sergeant,
- spearheading and supporting security operations,
- ensuring D-Block is sufficiently staffed,
- coordinating sweeps of D-Block when necessary (or otherwise delegating, overseeing & providing feedback to RU+ leading it),
- signing off on and managing work permits/internships,
- coordinating with other departments to ensure the overall security of the facility,
- conducting inductions, lectures, trainings, RCL & HWL tryouts to improve GSD personnel,
- ensuring GSD is conducting itself well, providing corrections to those who err & discipline to those that misbehave,
- scouting & mentoring potential GSD leadership, and
- supporting & supplementing CoS duties as requested.

Captains also have responsibilities as CL4 staff, which include:
- sealing blast doors & activating teslas as required,
- initiating FSL during mass D-block escape, breached SCPs headed towards EZ, or C3, and
- leading/coordinating the site's response to emergencies in absence of Sr CL4+.

Please give some lore about your Security Captain character and what storylines they would be involved in:

Edward was born & raised in the woods in rural Saskatchewan to a reclusive father who taught him nothing but how to survive. His childhood was rough, especially as his father was gone for extended periods of time but it would drastically the day his father returned with a child. Through raising this child, Ed learned kindness & compassion as he tried to provide him all that he lacked growing up. The two brothers relied on each other for years, and while they remained with their father out of a sense of familial loyalty, they learned to live without him.

Once their father died, the two brothers struck out into civilisation, a small town nearby where they sometimes traded for goods. Integrating society was difficult for both brothers, but Ed's amenable disposition eventually helped him find his place. He became rather popular as a problem solver, his patience and tolerance made him very capable and people would end up relying on him often. His brother, however, struggled greatly with fitting in and it was much too often that Ed would be responsible for covering for his younger brother.

One poor decision after another, his younger brother would end up enrolling with the military. In a desperate attempt to take care of his brother, he applied to join. A Foundation scouting team intercepted the application, seeking Ed for his open mindedness and problem solving capabilities. The Foundation promised his brother's safety as long as Ed served them well, and so he began his service. Will his kind hearted soul survive the darkness below? Will he serve the foundation faithfully enough to save his brother's life?
