What makes you the best candidate for the Ethics Committee?:
I am currently applying as i wish to take the next step within the committee, I have been on the committee since october of last year, and have been involved with several scenarios that involve situations that would lead to major issues for the foundation as a whole. I also intend to push the committee more towards acting as the Bureaucratic quagmire on the surface, to keep up the longest lie of the committee being useless, which the committee currently needs as recent events have seen the committee step outside of that purview and act aggressively towards the council, SA and various departments.
I believe i could help bring Ethics back in line with “The ineffectual pencil pushers who wave a rubber stamp that says approved and never voice an objection” while secretly pushing for more RP around consequences for those who commit crimes against humanity. We’re meant to be cold, not cruel, and that’s what my main aim is currently, make ethics focus on the numbers again, not letting our emotions dictate our decisions, hence the new character, Kenji Tanaka being a Bureaucrat before anything else.
With regards to RP i have done, while i won’t rehash or repost the events from my time as DoISD or Omega-1 as they were in my last ECM app, in my time as ECM, i have focused more on the research side of Site-65, often working with various researchers on various projects, including the current research storyline with Walter, Casseno and Alex Redmont, and the repercussions of an individual executed for high treason who has been brought back from the dead. I have also kept up RP with Omega-1 from my time with in the regiment by joining and initiating “Interrogations” of individuals who have crossed the lines that ethics would deem “Unacceptable”
With regards to the current state of the committee, i believe there's potential for some amazing storylines going forward that have stemmed from the revival of certain members of site personnel, and the O5's execution of the old Ethics Committee members on site (One of which, not saying who, was completely innocent of all charges, Mostly) that i could push towards some unique RP scenarios (looking at you -9/Broda) and a potential for Ethics to uphold their duty of keeping the O5 council in check for the more shady practices they have been pushing lately, via storylines that have Omega-1 gathering all the evidence they can covertly, before presenting it to the committee to take action on in secret.

What are the responsibilities of the Ethics Committee in RP?:
- Maintaining an air of meek pencil pushers.
- Act as advisors to the O5 council in ensuring that the council understands what is and isn’t acceptable to maintain the mission statement.
- The removal of the O5 council via Omega-1 as a last resort should the O5 council fail to adhere to the mission statement.
- Liaise with the O5 council to ensure that all decisions that affect the foundation fall within the parameters of the mission statement and ensure all foundation staff at any level are held accountable for their actions.
- Overseeing the FLC and making additions or edits where necessary to ensure effective communication and understanding by all parties.
- Judges for tribunals
- Working with the current regimental command of O-1 to ensure the unit is operating effectively and efficiently, and supporting them where needed.
- Ensuring that code black, site wide amnestication, detonation of the alpha warhead, ERT and termination of D-Class (Mass termination) are handled correctly and effectively (to ensure server health)
- Liaise with the ISD to ensure the department is running efficiently and remove the current directors should they not be performing their duties. Or for gross negligence during their duties.
- Ensure that D-Class are treated properly and that their living standards are up to scratch depending on what classification the current Class-D fall under.
- Ensuring assistants are properly managed, and have tasks to perform, while also being responsible should those orders lead to consequences.
- Weighing the cost vs benefits of every action taken to ensure that the ends justify the means, no matter how cold or heartless it may seem, so long as the mission statement is upheld and it ensures the continued survival of humanity.
- Converse with various anomalous humanoid SCP’s to ensure that they aren’t being mistreated and that their living conditions are adequate to ensure continued containment.
- Attempt to ensure that symptoms like DSF Syndrome doesn’t manifest within humanoid anomalies to ensure the psychological wellbeing of the entity is maintained.
- As the chairman, lead Ethics by example, ensuring they are cold, not cruel, and ensuring votes are maintained for issues that concern the committee or anything within our purview.
What are the responsibilities of the Ethics Committee out of RP (e.g. what applications do they handle?):
- Discuss and vote on the following application alongside other committee members:
- Ethics Committee Assistant
- Ethics Committee Member
- Omega-1 Commander
- Director of Internal Security
- Ethics Committee members (as Chairman)
- Give feedback to various departments on potential applicants should they request, as well as feedback on proposals, or policy changes to ensure that the new policies fall within the mission statement and don’t lead to the unnecessary loss of life or mistreatment of site personnel (including D-Class) or the humanoid anomalies housed within the foundation.
- Work with other departments OOC to help resolve issues and come to a fair compromise to ensure good relations between all departments.
- Work on scenarios for RP that can be brought into the game for everyone to be able to take part in.
- Ensure O-1 has plenty to do with Ethics orders for when ECM’s aren’t online alongside their own regimental orders.
