What can you bring to the Global Occult Coalition:
I bring 3 Main things to the GOC, and that is as follows:
- Leadership/RP abilities
With my past experiences as not only lieutenant in Alpha-1 and Nu-7, but also Ethics & O5 assistant (with leading O1/A1), I'm confident I can do a good job at leading people when needed, during quiet times, but also during (if absolutely needed/during events) raids and raid defenses, and other events. I feel I'm pretty helpful and can guide new operatives. With my leadership abilities I can provide interesting RP scenarios to the GOC. - Combat Experience
Coming to my second point, I could also be a valuable member because of my previous combat experience. From defending, and leading counter offensives against CI on surface as Nu-7, to defending the most important personnel on site, and carrying out missions with utmost secrecy (such as assassinations, kidnappings, and other activities) as Alpha-1, I feel I can provide valuable combat and general experience. - Adaptability
But I'm general, I feel I'm also pretty adaptable. As I've gone from Ethics Committee Assistant, where Ethics and other regulations is generally what I worked with, and then moving to Alpha-1, where it is sometimes the polar opposite, where ethics takes a backseat and morals have to be set aside to carry out the mission. It's this adaptability which makes me feel confident in picking up most positions.
But in general, I'm a pretty approachable person
Why do you want to join the Global Occult Coalition?:
The GOC has always been interesting in my eyes because of how they operate, compared to the SCP Foundation. I think it's really interesting how Foundation loyalists paint them as unethical, ruthless killers, when killing the anomaly probably would’ve saved the foundation more lives. Instead, the Foundation choses to contain something that could break out and kill hundreds, if it wishes to, and in many ways I agree with the GOCs mindset.
I love how deep the GOC and their lore is. I've barely scratched the surface of everything there is to know, but everything i know so far is interesting and im dying to learn more. From the different combat suits to the response levels, and all the tales, KTEs, UTEs, the fivefold missions, it's all very interesting stuff.
I also like (on this server ofcourse, not in lore) it’s more RP focused instead of combat focused, as I am not interested in something that would essentially be CI 2.0, if they would be combat/raid focused, so that's another thing that has really attracted me to GOC.
Why was the Global Occult Coalition founded?:
The GOC was founded by the United Nations as their own organization, because if it was owned by a nation, national interest or politics could get in the way, so the GOC is only accountable to them, and no one else. The GOC exists to protect humanity from Paranormal Threats, or shortened to “Parathreats”.
What does the PHYSICS, PSYCHE and PTOLEMY Division specialize in and give an example of some functions they do:
The PHYSICS Division is one of 3 Divisions in the GOC (the others being Psyche and Ptolemy), under control by GOC High Command, and the PHYSICS Division is the military/action division of the GOC, which is made up of assessment teams, and strike teams. Their mission is to investigate parathreats, capture, and/or neutralize them as well.
In the article about LTE-8686-Yellow-Kewpie, A joint operation between PHYSICS assessment/strike teams, and SCP Foundation Task Force operatives, was conducted to terminate (Then KTE 8686) LTE-8686. They pumped toxic gas into their containment chamber, and it was successful.
The PSYCHE division is the diplomatic division of the GOC, and consists of special observers, and ambassadors. The PSYCHE division maintains relations with Group Of Interests (GOIs), and keeps everything going smoothly between all the different paranormal groups.
In the article UTE-1666, after an Incident involving the UTE, PSYCHE Ambassador Agent Lucero Fernandez contacted the Unusual Incidents Unit (UIU) and engaged in diplomatic talks to discuss the implications of the incident.
The PTOLEMY division is the support arm of the GOC, and consists of quartermasters, and the Research and Development (R&D) Department. They support the other departments, helping with logistics and resource management, to developing and testing new equipment for GOC personnel.
In the article about LTE-8686-Yellow-Keypie, there's a PTOLEMY record from the quartermasters, listing the GOC Termination gas (designated ITG-GOC), and a SCP standard humanoid containment unit (designated IHCU-SCP) being taken out from storage, to be used in the termination attempt.
What are the Global Occult Coalition’s Goals?:
The 5 Missions (or fivefold missions) for the GOC is as follows, and are ranked in importance:
1. Survival
The most important mission for the GOC is survival of the human race, in the face of parathreats.
2. Concealment
The second most important mission for the GOC, is concealing the existence of parathreats from the public, because if this knowledge got leaked, it would most certainly lead to mass panic and/or hysteria, and maybe loss of life.
3. Protection
The GOC prices the lives of every human, including their own personnel. This is not similar to the foundation, as they use Class Ds in experiments they know they will probably not survive, or low level security personnel.
4. Destruction
The GOC seeks to destroy every single parathreat, as they consider the existence of parathreats, a threat to the survival of the human race. This is often what defines GOC in most people's eyes.
5. Education
The GOC wishes to expand their knowledge of parathreats, but this is the least important (relatively) of all of the 5 missions of the Global Occult Coalition.
Please explain the The Seventh Occult War:
The seventh occult war was an event that occurred during World War 2. A nazi SS group called Ahnenerbe, and another group called the “Thule-Gesselschaft”, Made an attempt to complete a ritual called “The rite of Solomon”, a ritual that if successful, would have granted them supernatural power, and cause a “GR-Class Hostile Demiurge Event”. It would grant the user Thaumaturgic capabilities, and allow them to change things at will, in the physical world. This was the first time a large number of governments understood the true danger and capabilities of the paranormal threats in the world. After the war concluded, they all agreed that such an event could never happen again.
What makes the Global Occult Coalition different in in-comparison to the other groups within the SCP-universe in your view?:
First of all, the GOC ranks their anomalies as TEs, or Threat Entities, all the different variations are: Known Threat Entity (KTE), Unknown Threat Entity (UTE), Potential Threat Entities (PTE), and Liquidated Threat Entity (LTE). The GOC has a lot of different code words for groups, ideas or concepts.
The GOC, in comparison to the SCP foundation, values the safety and protection of their personnel. They also consider the very existence of parathreats, a danger to humanity, and want to destroy all of them, but instead the foundation wishes to contain them, which leads to a higher loss of life.
