For how long have you played on CG SCP: Since the end of February I have amassed about 2 weeks of playtime.
Age: 18

Civilian name: Augustus Peterson
What server are you applying for? (SCP-RP UK or SCP-RP USA): SCP-UK
Do you have a mic?: Yes
-
List all whitelisted, MTF, or CI roles that you hold or have held:
Ethics Assistant
O-1 Major
IA Ambassador (held)
-
Have you received any kicks/bans/warning? and why?:
I have not.
-
What Ethics Committee role are you applying for, and why:
I am applying for the position of Ethics Committee Member. Since I was introduced to roleplaying games in 2017, I have always preferred the more serious aspect of roleplay, building up working relationships with other peoples characters, aiding them in their rp and immersing myself into the role I play. I enjoy playing on the server greatly and would like to positively impact the community, and give others the same experience I have had. I feel like being a member of Site Command is the best way to do this, due to the influence it holds.

Since starting out as an Internal Affairs Agent I have always enjoyed partaking in the enforcement of ethics around the facility. Be it as a Internal Affairs Ambassador, or as a CO of Omega-1. After trying my hand at the position of Ethics Assistant I have enjoyed it immensely, being able to get involved in the direct business of the committee has opened my eyes to the sheer depth of the role of Ethics, and now with an open slot I feel that I am ready to take the next step, from the enforcement of ethics to Ethics itself.
-
What makes you the best candidate for the Ethics Committee?:
I believe I am the candidate for the Committee due to my immense experience in roles relating to Ethics. As an Internal Affairs Agent turned Ambassador, I developed my knowledge of both the Code of Ethics and the various departmental policies around the site, learning how to deal with situations appropriately and how to mediate them. During my time as CO of O-1 Prosecutors, I have gathered evidence and brought ethics violators to tribunal and judgment, and most recently, as Ethics Assistant I have gained experience of how to make correct judgements. Therefore, I believe that I have all the necessary knowledge and have shown my devotion to the enforcement of Ethics to an overpar level as well as my leadership and organization ability.

I am a very active member of the community who is already familiar with people that are in IA/O1 and the Committee itself and always strives for the betterment of both myself and the people I interact with. I think that I display the necessary skills and attributes of an Ethics Member and am ready to take on the role.

I would relish the opportunity to take on this position and help Ethics take a more active part in the proceedings of the facility, through working with my (if accepted) ex unit to bring more individuals to tribunal, conduct more reviews and investigations and help put a face on the Committee which too often is inaccessible, even though it should be ready to hear the report of all.
-
What are the responsibilities of the Ethics Committee in RP?:
The main responsibility of the Committee is to uphold the Code of Ethics, and maintain the proper standard of proceedings throughout the facility. They oversee all Department Directors and Chiefs, conducting departmental ethics review. Generally, Ethics members should sit back and observe, and provide advice to those that need it, not getting involved unless strictly necessary.

On the more day-to-day side of things, the Committee is also responsible for approving tests involving more than 4 D-Class if there is no DoR onsite, or approving Keter and Euclid Class Cross tests, and reviewing and approving documents that require it. As well as tasking Omega-1 operatives with things to do. Another role of Ethics is to host tribunals and act as impartial judges, listening to both cases of the argument to come to an unbiased and well justified verdict.

Another critical role that Ethics Members must play is to decide when Mandatory lectures are necessary, as well as authorizing the use of site wide amnestics. The most responsible role in my opinion of the entire facility falls to Clearance 5 personnel such as Committee Members which is the triggering of Code Black and the Alpha Warhead- which must be used sparingly as it is a rp killer, which stops all roleplay on the server. A Site Command Member must be able to evaluate the situation and know when the right time to nuke is.

Ultimately, the goal of Ethics is to facilitate roleplay around the facility.
-
What are the responsibilities of the Ethics Committee out of RP (e.g. what applications do they handle?):
Out of RP, Ethics Members must vote and decide on a number of CL4/5 positions, such as electing new Ethics Committee Members and Assistants, as well as the Directors of Internal Affairs and Medicine, which are elected jointly with the vote of the O5 Council.

Please give some lore about your Ethics Committee character and what storylines they would be involved in:

The Ethics Committee Verdict Report
REGARDING: Pathfinder's application for a position as Ethics Committee Member
───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────

Thank you for showing your interest in the position of Ethics Committee Member, the committee is in agreeance that you currently aren't suited to be a committee member.

Your efforts and commitments towards the committee are unclear. Although you have an extensive knowledge of the CoE, we have noticed you have lost motivation towards your efforts. We see you as a good candidate in the forseeable future, if you show more motivation and passion.

Once again, The Ethics Committee appreciates the time and effort you put into your application.

Signed and Approved
Winkie

Director of the Ethics Committee.
