Currently all of my warns are expired and only the ban is currently active, I am unsure as to how I got the ban on the 4th December 2022, as I usually log back into the server straight away if I crash in the middle of an RP situation.

All the warns I received was when I was new to the server and was still learning the rules while also not taking it awfully serious, this however has changed now.

Why are you applying for Director of Research?:

I wish to improve the entire department for the better and I truly believe that I have the ability to do so. I always think logically, with almost all my reasoning having a strong sense of logic behind it. This allows me to make decisions for the better. I wish to make and suggest changes to current policy documents as some sub-sections do not make sense to me. I also wish to improve / remake a punishment system for the research department, as currently a lot of general research staff (on UK at least) are committing constant violations of official legislation and policy.

I also wish to work on the current issue with the subdivisions as, currently, there are a lot of sub divisions which are mainly inactive. I would personally like to resolve this by scaling back the need for official documents to be made, and instead treat them closer to group projects. This would result in less work for the sub-division head, while maintaining the useful specialists in the respective sub-divisions as well as the great work produced.

I would also like to work closer with site administration and site command upon possible changes and improvements to the research department. Similarly I wish to hold such a position for the experience of a senior clearance four role so I am able to advance to other areas of work within the site in the future.

My main reason however is much more simplistic; I simply adore the research department and the numerous possibilities available within such a creative
environment. I emphasised the importance of creative drive within my executive application and simply ,once again, wish to reinforce it even further with having greater influence over the department. The backbone of research has always been and will always be in two primary forms: discovery based and creativity based research. Discovery based relating to simply uncovering the secrets of SCPs and currently available research fields within the site for general knowledge, this usually does not always constitute to the visible and evidential excellence. Creativity based however is the opposite, not always striving for discovery, however is useful by exploring esoteric ideas, this shows excellence extremely clearly, this is why I believe it more than vital to support it in any way possible.


Finally, I wish to help with selection of executives for the research department, as there is a huge reliance on them as they are so vital to the departments function. This is important for me as I believe choosing the right people is important however the mindset behind them is even more important. This is what I wish to analyse further during an executives selection process.

What makes you suitable for Director of Research?:

Before I begin, I wish to explain to two-week ban of my executive role. I regret making the decision to do what I did, we are all human and sometimes our judgements can be clouded by emotions unnecessarily bringing us to make dumb, sometimes childish, decisions. I made such a mistake due to the anger that arose from my first citation not making any logical sense to me. Of course I should of refuted it in a more mature way, however due to a multitude of separate factors this did not happen, instead I did something which I heavily regret. This did teach me a valuable lesson however; I should not allow myself to make decisions in an emotional state, I should however give a decision some time and let myself figure it out with a clear mind.

To begin with, I personally believe that I posses good knowledge of the current legislation and policy in place and I also similarly believe I understand what needs to be fixed and improved within the current documentation. I am also a quick learner and I am able to onboard information quickly and make change and improvement accordingly.

Once again I posses a great creative drive which I wish to teach and enforce throughout the department to improve the overall research conducted within the site. I adore SCP lore and read plenty of the SCP wiki when I have the time. I believe through this, I could provide great roleplay opportunities to those around me, while also being useful to people in terms of answering questions they have about the SCP universe as a whole, perhaps even inspiring them to improve or create research studies based of simply explaining ideas of lore.

For my role as an executive I had to teach myself how to make adequate documentation and I know this will be a useful skill to possess as a Director of Research. Similarly I am also able to dedicate great time to my work both off-site and on-site respectively.

I am generally active within the server, especially devoting all of my time to specifically the research department, as I truly wish to make myself as available as humanly possible to those who require the assistance. I wish to carry this on to the role of Director of Research and similarly wish to make myself available regrading any inquiries or suggestions from not only the research department but also from all departments, since inter-departmental relations are vital to a functioning roleplay server.

After that one time of trying out the research job after getting bored on general security, I truly understood where I want to focus my mind and time on. Research has been the most fun for me and revealed a creative side I was never really able to indulge in prior. Besides being a simple Garry's mod server, to me it is more than that, it is one of the larger communities which shares a collective passion, with research concentrating those who love the SCP universe the most, where I was finally able to talk to those who had the same interest. Knowing this, I hope that anyone reading can truly understand how much passion lies within.


What are the responsibilities of the Director of Research in RP?:

Firstly, a Director of Research has to manage the department as a whole. This is done through multiple ways:
- Handling the executives currently in place and dealing with their actions, suggestions and ideas respectively.
- Handling executive applications based of your own opinion and the opinion of other members of research command. Also handling interviews for the role.
- Setting out jobs or tasks that need completing for the executives of the department.
- Updating policy depending on the changing situation within the site or by fixing previous oversights. Also discussing policy change with the Directors of Research on both the UK and US site.
- Carrying out executive orders from site command. Similarly, discussing potential ideas and changes with both site command and site administration.
- Handling the department documentation and updating them as necessary. Creating new documents if they would be seen as useful or required as such.

Secondly, a Director of Research has to keep relatively good inter-departmental relationships:

This is important as many departments work with the research department. Whether that be epsilon-11 for simple escorts during a research study or internal affairs investigating a member of the research department, it is paramount that the Directors of Research hold good relations with all departments as they all tie in to make a functioning site. It is similarly vital to hold good relations as situations that can arise may require departments to work together, so good relations will result in effective communication and the situation being resolved faster and more efficiently. Lastly, certain policy changes may ,again, require departments to work together to bring about this change.

This can be done by simply reminding the general research department that it is vital to hold respect and an understanding of other departments. Another method to hold good relations is through good communication between the departments so there is minimal misunderstanding while also setting up good examples for future communications for all levels of the research department.

Lastly, holding good relations in general with the leads or commanders of departments and mobile task forces alike is vital also, when it comes down to inter-departmental relations, as the higher ups opinions perpetuate throughout the department due to them being seen as senior.


Last, but not least, a Director of Research must activate as many opportunities for roleplay as possible for as many people as possible:
It is vital for someone with a senior role, especially that of the research department, to enable people to engage with good roleplay and lots of it. This can be done through previously mentioned methods such as simply taking the time to explain lore ideas to researchers which could then inspire them to do a great research study or perhaps creating situations which requires creative thinking, something which cannot be solved by simple game mechanics (of course this can be aided by game masters).

Def on research but in terms of helping others u never comms in telling people that u are there to help.

Ayano mainly does that.

We def need another DoR as the current one is very inactive
Recently I have been mainly focusing on my own research documents, as I never been able to get actual research done it was mainly helping people out to begin with. Now that we have some of the newer execs so willing to help I just wanted to finish a couple of research studies. I still make myself available just don't really advertise myself as much.
