What Ethics Committee role are you applying for, and why:​


I'm applying to be an Ethic Committee Member. When I first joined the server my goal was Nu7 since I had friends there, but sadly I found the surface combat very boring. Spent a lot of time in the foundation but didn't really experience a lot of rp. But I applied for Omega-1. It was an interesting thing but i didnt know anything about Omega-1.

So this was where I was close to leaving the server before I really got into it. But then I got my O1 tryout and got something completely new. O1 is where I experienced people who truly can rp and helped me a lot. It helped me show a completely different view of the server. I met a lot of very nice people in both Omega-1 and Ethics. Around when i was a cpl i had started getting interested in the ethics committee and decided to become a eca. At this point I didn't know anything about the ethics committee really.

After a while I was at csg I had decided that I wanted to become an Ethic Member. Talking to Broda he recommended either SA or further into O1. I decided to go further into Omega-1 where I continued learning about O1 and Ethics. After a while being a O1 Cpt I decided to leave and had to focus on irl stuff but I was still eca. So for a while I mained eca only did some fun rp, only playing a non combative was a bit of a change but I enjoyed it.

Then I decided to join E11. Now why E11? It was a bit random, I wanted to test a new department and it was a bit random i chose E11 but I'm happy I did. I went to LT pretty fast. I think I was promoted every week and met a lot of good people and had a lot of fun. In a regiment where people say they cant do rp only combat i found a lot of rp. I continued being promoted to maj and doing a lot of changes and a lot of fun rp.

But in the end my goal ever since O1 cpl has been to become an ecm. I find the entire ethics committee super interesting all from hiding behind bureaucracy and the idea that they have 52 members and spending a week voting and arguing if they should put Cola or Pepsi in medbay. But in reality the same people who will send out a unit to execute an O5 if deemed necessary. The people around will think they are voting on putting a no smoke zone in medbay but in reality voting is the primary action to kill and replace all of the O5 Council. It is fascinating they are the shadow inside the shadow. The O5 Council is working in the shadow but the ethics committee has so much light on it you only see the light and not the hidden knife behind its back ready to strike.

The Omega-1 is also super interesting and sadly incredibly hard to make it more accurate on the server. The idea that in multiple sites there would be normal researchers or doctors and stuff that are actually part of Omega-1. When an Ethic Member would be on a site there would be some Omega-1 members around them but there would be a lot more in the crowds and you have no idea they are Omega-1 members. I have been trying to do this with my E11 character and i would like to have more stuff like this of course would need to have more talks with sl and different departments. Of course normal day to day it wouldn't change but if it seems necessary they would step in and kill the threat.

Something I would like to change with Omega-1 is having them not seem to follow all orders by ethics. Two ways for this first make it seem with documents and stuff that they have been forced to guard us by RAISA/Site Inspector. Do the idea that Internal enforcement is only protecting us from an order above and not following our order more than anything special. So ic playing it like they are in the way and just irritating. Second thing i would like is to have a code word for them not to follow an order codeword should be an insult maybe asshat. So it could look like “ Hey asshat can you get me a coffee already” “im not your Assistant get a coffee yourself”. Same with if i want someone kidnapped or killed, i don't want Omega-1 to just take them but rather but then on a list and deal with them later.

Ethic Committee Assistant. It has been a while now since I left ECA but now from the sideline I think there is one main issue I would like to fix for them. That is that they are almost only in PW and a bit of lcz. So you almost never see them unless you go to them. I think that the Ethic Assistants should be going around the site more checking on people getting info for the Members and just being an advisory body. Now the best way to do it I'm still thinking I have a few ideas tho.

I would also like to give more stuff to do to each Ethic Assistant or at least the active ones. This could be for example talk to nu7 cos and get an estimate on how much the goc war cost us. Could be smaller things or bigger depending on the situation and how good the Assistant is. Like when they created a new FLC violation I would love for Assistants to go around and get people's opinions.

ISD. Is definitely the area where I have been least active of the 3 departments. I have spent more time being treated by ISD than a part of them. But honestly right now I think ISD is in a good spot so wouldn't change to much.

Generally speaking I would like to give more RP and engagement into stuff like nu7 and e11 who have always been called stuff like combat regiment. Now I have been more in e11 so I can speak better about that part, I think e11 has one of the best opportunities to get a lot of rp. Only issue is when that code 5 rings they have to respond no matter what, but I see no reason why they can't do as much rp as AO when it's not a C5. I already think this has been going great in e11 thanks to many other COs specially Grace.

Ethical issues, I find it fascinating having different ethical issues having to choose between two evils. And I have been learning a lot from them and I believe I can almost always choose the side that the ethics committee would choose. I do really believe I have been able to study the ethics committee well enough to go into character as an Ethic Member.

What makes you the best candidate for the Ethics Committee?:​


I think it's a few things combined that makes me one of the best candidates to become an Ethics Committee Member. My experience as an Omega-1 Co, during my time in Omega-1 i saw a lot of different ethics members go through with different ways to play them. Then also know what Omega-1 both want from an ooc and ic perspective. Thanks to my experience in Omega-1 i can help there and make sure it runs smoothly wile still changing some stuff i think would be good.

During my time as an Ethic Committee Assistant, thanks to this I have been doing Ethic work like signing and writing documents that are needed. Been part of multiple events and other things created by different ethics members. Been in meetings and talking where a lot of important stuff is happening. Being able to see a lot of different styles of ecms and seeing what fits best.

As Epsilon-11 Regcom i have been the one keeping an eye on the other Cos and helping them with anything they need. See what other people around the site thinks about the Ethics Committee and what their problems have and what should change. Also being able to see the ethic committee from a different view is no longer the ethic committee but rather someone being attacked by the Committee and attacking the Committee. For example with my attack on SCP personnel with ANOREP where I did a lot of bad stuff and of course the ethics committee tribunaled me and killed me. The entire thing created a lot of fun rp for Epsilon-11, it ended with my death. But it was a lot of fun seeing stuff like sa and roswell putting up a sign outside medbay saying “Jack Hooper is a racist”. In the end they had to create a flc charge just to take me down.

I think I'm great at rp and able to find it. Most people go from nu7/e11 co to ao co but i went the other way around. This made me learn a lot as an O1 co and then move to E11 which made me able to make some great changes into E11 and create some fun rp for the regiment. So i think i have proven myself in a snr cl4 position and if i become a ecm i would like to also create rp outside of pw.

I also answer messages very fast as long as I'm not sleeping. Even on loa i answer messages pretty quickly.

RP creations. I have been apart and made a few different big rp events. My most recent one was my character. Jack Hopper, who was very racist against anomalous personnel, and this created a lot of good rp both for myself. But also e-11 and other personnel that were included. I've been planning it a little bit. How to do it with anorep and everything I think went very well. And in the end, I was tribunal and executed. Now this is not my first time doing something like this. My first big rp creation was in O-1 where I was a lieutenant. And I created a secret subregment within within O-1 where, in the end, it almost created a civil war within O-1.

I have done other stuff too. Like leading the execution of Maxo's character. Where Maxo did something very stupid, which was hacking garden/freezer. I very much pushed for the O5 council to execute him. And me and bobertosa was the one that actually killed him. And I think this is one of the points that proves that I am very good at taking opportunities even if there's a small opportunity and making very good rp out of it. And I'm trying to do my best to create rp or when there's a small possibility of rp to actually lead it or make something happen out of it, and I think giving a position like ethics committee member I would do even better with it.

What are the responsibilities of the Ethics Committee in RP?:​

The longest lie
The biggest lie being the idea that the ethics committee organisation in the foundation is doing basically nothing. The idea being that the people in the ethics committee go around doing nothing having to vote with the 52 members on changing the water dispenser. With the famous joke line from Tanhony's Proposal “how many ethics members does it take to change a lightbulb… none they cant change anything”. So the idea really should be that becoming a Ethic Member is a punishment not a promotion.

Watching the watchers
The ethics committee are the ones that should be keeping an eye on the O5 Council. The idea being that if an overseer steps over the line the ethics committee will bring the overseer back to the line rather than letting the overseer change the line. This means keeping an eye on them but only stepping in if it truly shows they have stepped over the line and wont come back. Then there is also a possibility that all the overseer are deemed needing to be replaced, now this is the famous

Primary Action
The idea being to kill and replace the O5 Council. This of course shouldn't be the first option but rather the absolute last option. This was first created by Tanhony's Proposal. It is a very fascinating thing and I think it has only been voted on 1 time. So not exactly something the Ethics Committee will be doing every week.

3 Departments
The ethics committee also have 3 responsibilities they split up for each ecm. Isd, Omega-1 and Assistants are the 3 groups they have, each ecm have one each were they put more focus on then the other two. They keep an eye on the leadership in Omega-1 and ISD. Making sure they dont so anything stupid but also getting them stuff to do like operations.

Other duties
Stuff like authing aa when there is a breach. Nuking the site if the breach is to bad. Doing Site wide amnestics when it is needed. Calling ERT to help fight a breach that is very hard. Calling code Black to evacuate the site when needed should be done before a nuke. So a bad breach should be AA -> ERT -> Code Black -> Nuke. There are of course exceptions. Authing mass term of d classes.

Flc/tribunals
The ethics committee has full authority for changing, adding and removing flc violations. They should change it depending on what's needed. Tribunals the ethics committee can host tribunals against anyone in the site. Assistants can host them so its good to make they are taught how to tribunal.

Advisory body
The Ethics Committee should be an Advisory body to the entire site and help them out with questions. This also means guiding people or departments the right way. They should also solve problems between departments before it becomes a issue.

What are the responsibilities of the Ethics Committee out of RP (e.g. what applications do they handle?):​


They handle isd director, Ethic committee Assistant, Ethics committee Member and Omega-1 Commander application. But should help with their opinions on applications for SA, SD, O5 and other department directors.

They should also be making sure that the rp and general behaviour of other departments is up to the requirements they should be. They should also help SA with this exact thing. And generally help other departments with stuff, they need help.

But the 3 main departments, the ethics committee members should be keeping eye on ISD omega-1, and the ethics assistants, which is why they have splitted up to 3 main jobs for each ethics member to keep an eye on and make stuff for them to do.

They should be keeping in contact with SL and SSL. And keep in contact on a ooc basis with department leaders and helping them when it's needed

So this is my character from ethics assistance. Now I have changed it and added more stuff to it since I applied for an assistant. And the stuff that I did during assistant has of course, been removed since the info reset. But the character itself is still the same.

Third application, I've gotta hand it to your for keeping with it.

I believe your could make a Suitable Committee member with a bit of mentoring, I've seen it more then a few times when a MTF becomes a non-combative RP lead that some adjustment is required.

Although I do have a few questions.

The examples you have given lean more towards personal Roleplay and engaging in Roleplay. Can you please give an example of Roleplay creation, such as an old O1 order you may have made. As part of being FCOM will be creating Roleplay for the rest of site.

I believe you may have a small misunderstanding of the exact relationship Ethics and the Overseers have with the Foundation Mission statement.
The Overseers push the boundaries all the time and are results driven. What drives the Committee?

Yes not only issue it's been about 8 months since I left O1 and memory isn't perfect. But my midget thing there is creating my hiden squadron were my caracter was penalised for. Got a lot of help from clank and other O1 were i made orders for them to do. Now exact specification is hard to do it's been a very long time.

But I have also been doing this for Epsilon-11 like my ANOREP operation were different E11 finds and reports on anomalous personnel. The order is pretty simple but I think it has made that they have gotten a view of anomalous persoonel positivie or not they can do more stuff later. I think that order have been doing great to get some more rp in e11.

Then I have done other stuff to more simple like changing personnel files from lt promotion to csg promotion and give them a template and multiple examples. I want to push for more personnel files specially for newer player since it makes them have a character they play and not just themselves.

Yee so i wrote it a bit bad. The ethic committee isent there to stop boundaries from being pushed. They have to continue pushing boundaries to keep the mission statement alive Secure Contain Protect.

It's rather that the ethics committee makes sure those decisions are necessary. That it continues with the mission statement and not personal ambition. They aren't there to stop people from making difficult decisions that pushes the boundaries but rather making sure that it was needed.

So what i mean more is that the line itself remains the mission statement rather then what someone believes is acceptable.

Was my lovely NCO for a while and was great at RP almost got me arrested because I abused him and broke his bones.

Lowk really understanding and has a very good outlook on things.

When something happens and he doesn't agree with it, he reflects on it and tries to understand the other persons POV instead of always assuming he is right.

Gets shit done, when he wanted to change something he doesn't mindlessly complian he activily attempts to fix it via content suggestions or be it talking to other SrCL4.

While I was SA as well, he was quite a legend and very helpful, I always felt at ease when interacting with him due to his calm manners and ability to understand things.

I really REALLY hope you get this role.

In his entire time in Epsilon-11, Porkchop has done nothing but show his dedication and commitment to the role.

From the rank of PVT all the way to his current rank as MAJ, he has never stopped in his endless pursuit in trying to push the envelope of Epsilon-11, always working in its best interests. He has not once let me down and while we may not always see eye to eye, he is the personification of hard work and someone I know will excel if given the chance to do so in the role.

Already an amazing E-11 Major, I'd love to see you as an Ethics Committee Member, has a lot of experience in Omega-1 / Ethics Committee as an Assistant, he already knows how the RP and Ethics works!

Now i dont exactly now what operations and storylines O1 currently is working on. And i wont be bulshiting and saying I have big thing and then do nothing. But rather I have a few smaller ideas and i will be doing more stuff when I get a better view of O1 how its now.

Now the things I do have planned is. Operations on making Omega-1 a friendly regiment. Talk to people get to know them ask how they are doing and so on. This is the same way the CIA does and I think making it a regiment were people feel safe to go to is the best thing for it.

Now another idea is having operations that would be more focous on getting in contact with GOC. Now i can't promise exacts here or how possible this is because im unsure how close we are with GOC right now. But idea is having some Omega-1 members become friendly with the GOC so in case something happens we have a call line and maybe friends in GOC.

This is all ideas so exaxts is hard to say but I can day if I do become ECM I will do my best to create as much quality rp as possible for Omega-1 and the rest of the site.
