Why are you applying for Chief of Medicine?
I take pride in helping other people, from hosting lectures, training people or providing feedback so that they can learn from their mistakes. From what I seen about the Chief of Medicine’s duty is that they are there to assist others - they train people, they give out equipment, provide medical checkups and provide feedback so people can learn from their mistakes. I believe that because my personality matches the duties of a Chief of Medicine I can connect with this role and make the most out of having it. I believe I can excel with this role and make a difference to the Medical Department, especially the Combat Medic Sector.
What makes you suitable for Chief of Medicine?:
The attitude I’ve displayed towards the medical department in the past 2 months I believe demonstrates dedication. I’ve taken the role as Commander of the KS-1 Squadron for over a month now and my priority during this time is to keep the Squadron running. The Squad was always the first thing I thought of when I made decisions, which I believe lead me to becoming a successful commander. I implemented guidelines that were strict, but done the job and set a professional example of each operative within the Squadron. I’ve had members in KS-1 move into ISD or the role as a Chief of Medicine, and from the start that’s what I wanted for them. I believe the dedication I put towards KS-1 can be put towards my duty as a Chief of Medicine and that would allow me to excel and set a new example for the Medical Department.
Please explain an in-game medical procedure of your choice:
My preferred choice of medical procedure would be the Medical Checkup. The Medical Checkup allows the Doctor to see many points at the end of the procedure. It has multiple tests that points out things that need working on or are in stable condition. It ranges from mental health, motor functions, eye health and ear health. All of the simple tests add up to a big conclusion. And by the end of a Medical Checkup, a doctor can easily write up the conclusion and how the patient can improve their health. It may not be the fastest of procedures, but it also builds bonds between the patient and doctor, and allows for some great roleplay experiences. While in RP, I’ve given multiple medical checkups and the RP experience I gained from them was great.
What are the responsibilities of the Chief of Medicine in RP?:
A Chief of Medicine has multiple responsibilities that are essential for the Medical Department to keep running. Chiefs of Medicine have the duty of giving Medical Licenses to Trainees and giving them the honour of becoming a Doctor. The Chief of Medicine oversees field-duties of Medics and they are constantly look for people who violate the Medical Department Rules. They are a role model for Doctors and Trainees and should constantly act in a Professional and Mature manner. Chiefs of Medicine also have the responsibility of provide Medical Checkup’s to Clearance 4 and 5 personnel.
Please give some lore about your Chief of Medicine character and what storylines they would be involved in:

**Childhood**
Fin Highland was born in 1993 to an introverted, foster family in Blackpool, England. His father, █████ Rimmer, was a heart surgeon and had always inspired Fin Highland to pursue a medical career. By the age of 7, Fin Highland was able to perfectly perform Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) as well as use a Defibrillator. Fin Highland attended ████ Private Academy and excelled within his Biology classes, getting higher then all other students on his tests. Fin always took interest in the Medical Workshops on National Careers Day. On ██/██/████, Fin Highland had to perform CPR on a fellow student in school after his heart stopped beating in mathematics class.
**Adolescence**
With Fin finding out that he isn’t with his real family, he believed that he wasn’t worthy of becoming anything special in life, as his real parents didn’t want him. On █/██/████, Fin picked the subjects he would take for his GCSE's: Triple Science, Mathematics, English Literature, English Language, Medicine, French, Business Studies. Within school, Fin performed excellently in all subjects, but in Biology his grade was an A*. By the end of Year 11, Fin received a letter telling him he received above an A on every GCSE. Fin then joined the Private College of ████ and took a Medical A Level Course. After 2 years of studying in College, Fin's education had ended and he searched for a job as a Medical Practitioner at ███████ Hospital of ██████████.
**Adulthood**
On ██/█/████, Fin Highland aced his interview at ███████ Hospital, and a week later he received an email to tell him he got the role as a Medical Practitioner. Fin first tried on his scrubs, and started his work. Fin served over 100 patients at his time within the hospital, and he was recognised for constantly helping around the Hospital. However, Fin’s depression didn’t make anything good. After seeing multiple of his patients die or suffer from extremely painful conditions, he decided to resign from his job for his mental safety. Fin was left with no job for months, and suffered mentally. He fell into poverty, and moved back in with his parents to avoid becoming homeless. His parents supported him throughout, and attempted to help him overcome his depression, but nothing worked.
**First Anomalous Sighting**
The date was the ██nd of ████ , SCP-912 had breached containment and had killed foundation members in rage. SCP-912 escaped the site-32 after using his gun to threaten Sr Researcher ████ ███. Upon arriving at the surface, SCP-912 rampaged in the local village. Gunshots were heard right through ████, and as a result of this, multiple casualties were caused. Fin’s father ram out of his house with a knife, ready to kill SCP-912, not knowing what he was about to go into. As he bravely approached SCP-912, he was shot twice in the stomach. After 912 passed his house, Fin was out with Defibrillator Paddles in his hands, screaming and crying. He unhooked his medical kit from his belt, and bandaged the wound. His father lost his breath, and wouldn’t come back even after multiple rounds of CPR. “CLEAR!” he screamed, shocking his fathers chest with a defibrillator. And he shocked again. And again. He laid his head against his fathers corpse. And then came a large gasp, as his fathers body shot up from the ground.
**Recruitment**
Fin Highland was kidnapped and brought into the Interrogation Room on ██th of ████, 2 days after the breach of SCP-912. The audio tape of the interrogation will now be played.
Recruitment Agent ███████: We’ve observed your skills, and we have an offer for you. Read over this paper, sign it and you’ll take on a role in our workplace, or you will be returned to your home, back to your parents house in poverty. It’s up to you.
Fin Highland: I don’t know anything about this workplace, what do you do? Why in the hell would I sign this if I don’t know the pay or anything?
Recruitment Agent ███████: We are an organisation tasked to contain anomalous entities so that they won’t destroy the earth. While we contain them we also research on their abilities. For example, the one who shot your father was one of the anomalies we contained, however he had a containment failure.
Fin Highland: So this document here states I’ll be a doctor. Hmmm. Sure, I’ll sign it I guess.
Recruitment Agent ███████: Amazing, glad you took the offer. We’ll keep in touch. Guards!
End of Transmission.
Fin Highland was then sent an email stating a meeting location, and was then transported to Site-65, were his future would await.
**Early Foundation**
Director of Medicine Abbie Maot, referred to as Dinklesprinkle by her department, was the person who gave Fin Highland his first training within the foundation. She was the one who shown him about the medical department. Abbie reported that Fin Highland was full of questions about the place and each SCP. He was confused at the time of his training, and was still learning his way around. It was reported by a member of Mobile Task Force Epsilon-11 that he was lost and accidentally stumbled inside of Heavy Containment Zone, moments before a Containment Failure. After a week of constant training, Doctor Fin Highland had finally learned the ropes, and was ready to begin duties.
**Foundation Life**
██████ Assistant “Atlas” approached the Director of Medicines Office while Fin was in there talking to the Directors of Medicine. He opened the door and informed the Directors about his past personal doctor, and how she tragically died for treason to the Foundation. The Assistant asked for another Personal Doctor, and Fin Highland was assigned as the Personal Doctor to him. There was a special bond between the two, Fin would constantly give medical checkups to the Assistant, and the Assistant got in a better physical and mental state the day. According to the Assistant, he was physically weak on his first checkup, and within his most recent he is in perfect shape. On his first checkup, simple stretches like touching your toes was difficult for him, but now it was a walk in the park. They had special codes names, and would after use communications to meet in person.
Fin Highland was a great doctor in the Department of Medicine, constantly there to serve the sick and give out treatment, as well as oversee the health of Assistant Atlas. He knew each treatment for each case and could easily perform a medical checkup upon request. He was also trained in dentistry and giving our psychological evaluations, even autopsies, however they were a rare case he’d have to do.
On the ██nd of ███████, Fin Highland was brought into the Director of Medicines office, and was told his clearance will be moved up to Clearance 3. He was handed a Colt M4 9mm Rifle, an M9 pistol, body armour and the Combat Medic uniform. Fin Highland took this offer proudly, and adapted to his new duties quite easily.
**Keep Secure Squadron**
Keep Secure Squadron Commander ‘Bravo’ appointed Fin Highland as an Operative within the Squadron on ██/█/████. Fin started his duties within the squadron as soon as he got in his uniform, and provided protection to Director of Medicine Yeke Maot. Fin made close bonds to the people within the squadron and also became closer with the people he guarded. After a few days within the squadron, Fin was recognised by his superiors and was appointed Commander of the Keep Secure Squadron. As Commander, Fin reported to Squadron Manager ‘Dagger’ and assisted in the recruitment of operatives to the Squadron. Fin served as the Commander of the Squadron for a 3 years , and was constantly hosting trainings to sharpen the skills of his Operatives. The one thing that lead Fin to success in the squadron was his motivation to keep the Chief’s and Director’s of Medicine safe at all times.
**Pre Chief of Medicine**
Fin Highland shown great interest in getting the position as a Chief of Medicine and demonstrated skills to show he is capable for the role. Fin Highland was offered the position on ██/██/████, and he passionately took the position.
