What Ethics Committee role are you applying for, and why:
I'm applying for member due to the reason I feel like I'm limited as an Assistant. I want to do so much more than I can right now and I have a ton of motivation to actually be on and perform well on the job. I pretty much only play as Ethics Assistant, as I've retired from the Internal Affairs Ambassador role so I have more time to dedicate to Ethics. When I don't have any major tasks or the Assistant spots are full, I focus on my role on Omega-1 and im very dedicated to that role too.
Seeing as a spot will open up in a couple of days I feel like this would be a good time to give it a shot going for Ethics. Although yes there are currently 2 other people on hold and Otters is applying too, I want get myself out there as a candidate as well.
When I joined the server, it was my first SCP RP I ever joined. I knew the lore a bit but from the time I've joined I've learned a lot of the SCP universe and I'm very invested in it. I started off as everyone else, focus on GenSec and Researcher in the beginning. I joined E-11 when I found out that Sofics was the Commander of it and got in. I got a lot of experience from that on how the server worked all the other Departments and MTF regiments.
During my time in E-11 I kept seeing Internal Affairs Agents around the site and I grew quite fond of the idea of being an Agent myself. I grinded out to get the lvls needed and fell in love with the job. I was trained by at the time Agent Gregory on how to be an Agent. At that point I pretty much solely focused on Internal Affairs seeing as I've grown quite tired of the "MilitaryRP" aesthetic of just shooty-shooty all the time. I played as an Agent 4-6 hours pretty much every day. I aspired to be an Ambassador but sadly failed my first application due to my too aggressive behavior as the stress of the job got to me and some certain individuals. From that point on I learned how to deal with the stress and I worked on improving the relations with those certain individuals and don't have that sort of problem anymore.
After a week I applied again and got the Job. Also joined Nu-7 in that time. I worked hard as Ambassador and made some training slides to make sure the Agents were up to par. When the Whitelist system was implemented I made new training slides that included pretty much everything that they needed to know as an IA Agent. I trained around 30 Agents in the first 3 days of it being implemented as most of the other Ambassadors were on LOA at the time.
From there I thought about becoming the Deputy Director of IA and we discussed it among each other within the Ambassador team and none of really wanted to go for it. At that point I wanted to decide what will become of me. I had thoughts which were Ethics Assistant or Side Advisor. Seeing as most of the SA Spots were full I decided on Ethics Assistant since it felt like the better choice since I already had a lot of experience enforcing the Code of Ethics as IA. I've been Assistant for around 3 weeks now and I feel like I've done a good job so far. I have quite a lot of CL4 experience so far in my opinion and I haven't done any major mistakes.

What makes you the best candidate for the Ethics Committee?:
|
ETHICS ASSISTANT From the first day on the job I greeted all the members of Omega-1. Thankfully I already knew some of the members so it went quite smoothly. I talked over my permissions as an Assistant with Commander "Assassin" so I don't step over any boundaries within Omega-1 as an Assistant. My relations in Omega-1 are quite good seeing as I'm also a member of it. Then I went on and asked some of the Ethics members for tasks. They said just go around the site and watch for Code of Ethics breaches and keep an eye on D Block. I scratched my head a bit since it felt like being an IA Ambassador all over again. I then decided I need a specific task that would keep me motivated and busy. I took upon myself to talk to all the departments CL4 personnel and get any complaints and/or suggestion they might have regarding their own department or others that the Ethics Committee might be able to fix for them. I wasn't very detailed with my first reports but I handed them over to "Jericho" and he started working on the ones I made. This gave me a very good chance to talk with more people around the site and get more known. This also benefited the Ethics Committee since I was a representative of it and people were happy that Ethics were seen around the site more. When SCP-409 was added on site, I immediately wanted to test on it due to it being a Keter Class SCP inside of LCZ. I worked with Executive Elliot Nezha on it using a total of 9 D Class on it and got permission from ECM Requis. The idea was to find out if only "Patient Zero" can infect people or can the ones who got infected by "Patient Zero" can also be infected. The second reason was how to ethically terminate a person infected by SCP-409. I made a 4 page document on this and forwarded it to the Ethics Committee. After that I made a petition for E-11. The petition was to add a Kant Counter check up to the Heavy Containment Zone Checkpoint to check for the fume lvl of individuals passing through the checkpoint. This was to stop any unauthorized individuals from passing through the Checkpoint and to prevent future breaches and improve Site Security. I discussed it over with the E-11 Officer team and they all agreed with it. I took the document to Foxatron and he signed it and now the Kany Counter System is implemented in the HCZ CP. Currently I'm doing another round of Complaints/Suggestions from the Departments. I've improved on my format by making a proper front page, improved on the format and actually trying to get all the CL4 members of each Department to give their input of the matter. I've also included the help of Assistant Otters in this to help with some of the department. When I'm not performing these duties I roam around on site and help answer any questions either regarding the Code of Ethics or general ones. I like keeping an eye on D Block and giving suggestions to the SGTs there if no CPT or Chief is present to help keep D Block in stable situation. I also like talking to people to make sure Ethics is seen and have discussions with Researchers regarding their tests. |
OMEGA-1 Although my time in Omega-1 has been the same as Ethics Assistant I feel like I've done a good job. I've done patrols around the site, kept an eye on tests to make sure the Code of Ethics is being followed, helped with Code 5s and 1s. Of course defending Ethics Committee members and Assistants. But working close with Ethics and given me a good of experience and understanding of Omega-1 and how Ethics work. |
GENERAL I'd be a Member that works more with the public and make sure people actually see Ethics representing themselves. I would be a man that actually walks around undisguised and talks with people about their problems and have discussions with researchers about tests and future ideas. I have great knowledge of the Code of Ethics, Conduct and Legal Codex due to my time in IA and as an Assistant. I want to work more with Assistants and give them actual tasks so they don't roam around aimlessly. |
What are the responsibilities of the Ethics Committee in RP?:
The responsibility of an Ethics Committee Members is to find the lesser evil in situations regarding the Foundation and Tests. They are there to make sure the Foundation and it's site follow the Code of Ethics. They themselves don't roam around like Agents, but have personnel that enforce the Code of Ethics make sure people follow it like Internal Affairs and Omega-1.
They are members of Site Command so they have the job of making sure the Site is in an good state and all the Departments run smoothly along with the O5 council. They also need to have good relations and work alongside Clearance 4 personnel.
They work closely with Omega-1 to make sure they are up to standard and have their needs and wants met. Since their man duty is to protect the Ethics Committee then it is very important to make sure the Task Force is in a good shape and with good morale.
They help deal with Ethical complaints that IA or Assistants aren't able to deal with themselves.
They work closely with Researchers since quite a number of tests require approval from an Ethics Committee member. They decide which tests are ethical or safe and which ones are not. For example a lot of tests regarding SCP-008 are quite unsafe and the document need to be approved by a Committee member first.

What are the responsibilities of the Ethics Committee out of RP (e.g. what applications do they handle?):
Jointly with O5 they deal with Director of Internal Affairs App
Solely the Committee handles:
-Director of Medicine Apps
-Ethics Assistants Apps
-Ethics Committee Member Apps
They also handle and improve the current Code of Ethics document. Either adding, changing or removing sections from there.
Hold meetings with their assigned departments and help CL4 personnel and Directors with questions and suggestions
Work with O5 to make sure all the departments and the site is running smoothly
