Discord name: Finn
For how long have you played on CG SCP: Over a month now and most days I clock around 3-5h straight on the server. Total playtime is 6 days
Age: 22
In what country are you located?: Estonia
Time zone: GMT+3
Character name(s): "Finn"
Civilian name: """Finn"""
What server are you applying for? (SCP-RP UK or SCP-RP USA): UK
Do you have a mic?: Yes
-
List all whitelisted, MTF, or CI roles that you hold or have held: Currently E-11 CPL and CI-A(Possibly removed since I haven't played it)
-
Have you received any kicks/bans/warning? and why?: One FailRP warning when I was a Jr. Researcher and messing about and killed myself with an SCP. Also have one RDM warning for apparently killing a disguised D Class, but I was AFK during the sit so I don't really know.
-
Why are you applying for Internal Affairs Ambassador?

I want to do more to help. I play IA quite often and I've seen a lot of problems with some of the less active Agents and Operatives where I've had no power to act upon and deal with the situation. I don't want people to give IA a bad name since due to our job, we are already pretty much hated by mostly everyone on the server for being "killers of fun". If IA agents mess around and no ambassadors aren't on to deal with the situation, then I can't do much else than just report him. I also like teaching people and I have taught a couple of IA Agents how to act when they are on the job and the rules regarding IA and being an Agent. I would also like to advance more in IA and being an Ambassador would give a me good chance to improve my career. I'd also like to be more of a spokesman between the other departments and help each other out with recommendations and to keep the relationships civil and stable. I'd like to test myself with a leadership position in a non "military" faction and of course to take the responsibility of having CL4 card.
-
What makes you suitable for Internal Affairs Ambassador?:

This might sound a bit like a boast but I feel like I'm a good mentor and leader. I would rather teach someone on how to do their job properly first, rather than giving them a punishment for acting wrong when they might not know what they did wrong. Perfect example would be when I investigate Jr. Researchers. Firstly I observe how they start their test and if it's ethically correct. If it's not, then I stop the test and explain to the researcher on how to do it the correct way. Even though they broke a lot of ethical codes, there's no point immediately arresting them if they don't even know what they did wrong in the first place. For CL2 researchers I am more strict and do arrest them depending on what Ethical Code they might have broken. If it's only for example 3.03 which is that Combat Personnel should be the ones activating any buttons, then I just tell them beforehand but if they let D Class die during a test for no reason then I will arrest them. I'm also experienced with most of the codes by heart now and know how to act accordingly in any situation if a Legal Codex, code on conduct or ethical violation has taken place.
Another point would be with GENSEC. I try to teach them to try and keep the D Class alive when they do run away I.E shoot them down but not to execute them since I've seen so many GENSEC put a whole 30 round magazine into an already dead D Class and of course I have to arrest them then. But if they just either accidentally or with a single shot shoot the D Class dead then I will take them aside and tell them it's unethical to execute them since they have rights too.
I'm fair with the arrest timers as well and I of course always tell the person what crimes they had committed and how long they'd be in jail for. If the detainee was compliant and didn't try to escape, depending on the severity of the crime, I would do the minimum or medium arrest time. If they weren't compliant, didn't cooperate, messed around a lot or tried to run away I would give them the medium or highest arrest time.
I'm always trying to learn new things by asking higher ranking IA members and trying to improve myself so I could do my job better and be more effective.

How many documents have you written? What makes a document good?:

I've written quite a few recently, don't know the total amount. A good document is a detailed one. That means you put the correct info on who was involved, possible images and a detailed list of the Situation. Of course a little flair, good lines, spacing and making it easier to read is always a good thing. Just making a 1 page simple recap is acceptable since a mediocre document is better than none but it's always good to see a document that a person has actually put effort into. My documents have improved a lot since my first days of an IA agent due to the mentoring of Ambassadors and me asking for help from them. A document should be around 3-5 pages long depending on the severity of the situation. Of course since there are tons of arrests done every day, there is no point making a document on smaller misdemeanours like for example a Cadet having a research syringe which would be classified under Legal Code 1.20 which is ownership of unauthorized equipment. There's no real point making a document on this. They should be done mostly on more severe or interesting subject. I had at one point found a Medical Trainee with a KSG and a freaking Frag Grenade, which I had never witnessed before so after the arrest I immediately had to write a report on it. Murder and other more severe rule breakings, especially if it passes over the 20 minute arrest timer in my opinion should have a document written on it, because if it's investigated by higher ranking personnel then It's better to have a report ready to get a good recap of the story.

What are the responsibilities of the Internal Affairs Ambassador in RP?:

They have many responsibilities. The main one would be of course to oversee currents Agents and evaluate their performance and report it back to the Director of IA if requested and find possible candidates for extra training or even a possible future ambassador position. They also teach new and current Agents on how to properly do their job, their responsibilities and of course the power of their job and how not to abuse it. They will introduce them to the Legal Codex, Code of Conduct and Code of Ethics and how to use them. The Ambassador also needs to teach them how to correctly perform an arrest and the detainees right. Also on how to use, when to use a disguise and of course what not to disguise as. These would all be done either face to face or in the Lecture Hall for a larger number of new Agents.
Ambassadors also handle higher tier investigations, when normal Agents are able to. They are the middleman between the normal Agents and the Director of IA, so if an Agent has a problem, he'd come to an Ambassador first and the Ambassador, if he can't handle the problem himself, would pass it forward to the Director, similar to a "Chain of Command".
They are also responsible for handling the public image of IA and in keeping relations stable with the other departments and Combat Units.
They also work more alongside other departments like for example research or medical to make sure all the internal affairs within those departments are up to standard and up to code.
They also have the job of reviewing arrest reports and either approving them or not.

Please give some lore about your Internal Affairs Ambassador character and what storylines they would be involved in:

James "Finn" Mcgree was born in Florida. As a child he'd always wanted to be a police officer. His dad was a Police Captain and he always looked up to his him. His mother died when he was still a young boy and being an only child, his father was the only real family he had. He had a rough childhood and was bullied a lot, but it made him develop a "thick skin" and he doesn't tolerate any bullshit. After graduating high school, he enrolled in a Police Academy and passed with flying colours. He was a street cop for a while but there was an accident and his closest friend and partner died. He left the force and fell into a deep depression and became an alcoholic for a while.
Eventually his dad got fed up of it and decided to talk to him. He told Finn to man up and to get a job serving his country again. He decided on joining the Marines and was a grade a soldier for 10 years. He got to the Rank of MSGT and retired early. Finding his life boring after retiring he decided to follow up on lead a friend had given him and joined a Private Military Company and protected VIPs in Afghanistan and Iraq. After a while, he was approached by a strange man that gave him a job in the SCP Foundation as a GENSEC SGT. They pay was better and the job was easier so Finn took it.
During his time as a GENSEC SGT he witnessed the killing and other unethical acts being performed on D Class personnel and decided to put an end to it. He talked with the Director of IA and surprisingly managed to get a job as an Agent. He made a lot of progress in improving the ethnicity of tests on Class D. This partly due to him teaching the researchers on how to perform the tests correctly to minimize the loss of life of D Class and to keep everything ethical. Due to his performance in changing the way research was conducted he was called to an office by the Director of IA and the Director of Ethics. He was presented with the position of Ambassador so he could do more to help improve IA and other departments.
Now known as Ambassador "Finn", he went on to improve IA starting with smaller changes on how Jr. Researchers and new Agents are trained. He dreams of one day joining the Director team of IA to improve it further and also advance his own career.

Honestly an amazing application, I can see you went through a lot of effort writing it. However, I'm going to have to give you a
- SUPPORT. This is because of your professionalism in-character, especially during arrests. Myself and others have constantly seen you insulting people during arrests, which is obviously not professional at all and breaks the CoE in-character. I also said that you have "skinny legs" in-character to test you, and you threatened to arrest me for that...

Also like to refer to these two clips, where I will explain what you did wrong in them for future notice.

Clip 1:
In this clip, you un-cuff a D-Class that you originally cuffed, and walk away without offering the GENSEC any form of assistance for the situation you caused, which is a runaway D-Class. That D-Class managed to get close to SCP-173's CC all the way in LCZ.
I understand that Agents are not permitted to carry out GENSEC's duties, however, holding the D-Class at gunpoint at the very least for the situation you caused could have changed the events entirely.

Clip 2:
In this clip, you threaten to put me into solitary confinement for 30 minutes if I broke out as a surface CGITV, which is pretty obviously not permitted in the slightest and would be considered an abuse of power. Even if this was simply an empty threat, such behavior is what damages the perception everyone has of the DIA, and what makes us all seem like power-hungry abusers.

I love your application, but your performance on-site and in-character should be improved as soon as possible since this kind of behavior with the authority of an Ambassador would not work out.

I understand that you may behave differently with the position of an Ambassador, which is what most people say, but that would simply mean that they are hungry for the power of the position, which I am not saying you are. It's just what happens in most cases.

Thanks for the reply. Btw the 1st clip is the exact same the 2nd one so I can't comment on it. The 2nd clip was from my earlier days as an IA when I was still learning. It was an empty threat indeed and I wouldn't have acted upon it. Since it was quite a while ago im guessing it was because we were waiting for intelligence to arrive in interrogation and you were constantly breaking yourself out.
Secondly the skinny legs parts I can't really remember but that was obviously a joke and I wouldn't have arrested you for it.
Thirdly I don't really recall when I insult people during arrests "constantly". If you have any proof of this allegation then that'd be great.

Application Denied

Good day, Agent 'Finn'

Thank you for taking the time to fill out the application form, we truly appreciate your interest and effort. We've come to the conclusion that you are not qualified for the position of Internal Affairs Ambassador.

First of all, let me apologize for the late reply. As I explained to you already, since you were on LOA for most of the first week after your application, I decided to wait a little longer so I wouldn't have to deny you immediately because of the lack of activity. However, after observing you for a while and asking for feedback from my ambassador team as well as CL5 personnel there has been consensus that, as much as you're an extremely valuable asset to Internal Affairs, you're not ready to become an Ambassador.

One of the key points has been something that I've seen myself and that all ambassadors who have observed you agree with, and that is your continuous verbal abuse. Now, it's not insulting per se, but you're constantly using expressions such as "get the fuck out of my way" when someone's blocking you, and "shut the fuck up" when you need someone to be quiet, etc. As an ambassador, you become a role model, so this kind of behavior is not acceptable under any circumstances.

I've received other complaints as well from the ambassador team, but I won't make those public and I'll be more than glad to discuss them privately if you want to.

Don't let this discourage you from reapplying in the future,

Kindest Regards,
Director Katona.
