Why are you applying for Director of External Affairs?
Well if I'm going to be honest ever since I started playing DEA when I came back to the server its been so much fun! I think it has been my favourite role to play in the server, the amount of roleplay potential within DEA is immense. But also I think it's fair to try progress from Manager into DoDEA now, I've always wanted to lead a department and now I finally have the chance, I've 100% got flaws like my activity recently but I've decided that I might as well try. I really want the chance to be able to lead a department and have that autonomy with your other director to be able to do so much.
Also I think a large part pushing me to apply is that I just want to see what I can do for DEA, currently it is in a good place anyway, the Management and Leadership team are actively doing things but there is always things that can be done to improve (I'll go over it later in the app).
Additionally I just want to say that I've never been in a position like this where I'm directly looking over a Department and I really want to learn how to do well! So if anybody has any tips please send it over. This is the first time I've been in a departmental Sr CL4 position and I hope I have been doing well enough to become a Director.
What makes you suitable for Director of External Affairs?:
Quality.
Recently I have been playing my character much more, I wasn't really good at playing a "Character" before it was really a curved line but now I've actually started to implement my traits and other things that make Fuji unique.
With this, it has also been within DEA, I've been getting involved much more with the Department (I should already have been but still it all comes down to my activity). I've been creating documents, I've been assisting in operations within game and also I've been trying to liaise with other departments to make a better relationship. Mainly with ISD I have pushed for DEA Freedom which they can attest to.
Joint work with the UNGOC.
I've been playing a hand in creating stable relations with the UNGOC, a lot of it being on the down low since it was espionage and a lot of lies to them. But overall the RP with the UNGOC has been extremely fun and I hope to take a bit of the credit with creating the joint work, obviously the other amazing managers and directors definitely did the majority but I want to include this.
Approachability.
I would like to say that I have been approachable from all members about anything, I've taken a larger role in becoming an out of character complaint taker! And overall just a liaison between departments. I think that has been my biggest thing as a Manager, I've started to move out of the game to assist with things a lot more. Obviously this has been pretty annoying with reducing my activity but I like to think that I've actually been helping people with matters when they need it.
However also I want to go over a flaw you may be aware of, recently I've been inactive so I just want to address it. It will not be a permanent thing I have just been repairing my old PC and building a new one.
What are the responsibilities of the Director of External Affairs in RP?:
In RP you are representing the Department, that is when you go from a position that just follows now to one that leads. It's probably the most key responsibility, Leadership - You are now leading a Department and you should act like it, you have to be calm headed and able to resolve situations without losing your cool (preferred but not required
).You oversee and make sure that the Department is running well and you don't have to step in, I believe as a Director you have to have a nice balance of watching the Department but also stepping in to assist even if nobody has asked, you are their Director so you should help them whenever you can but also trying to not do too much so they can have freedom.
Document creation and Diplomacy. As the Director now you have so much freedom to create anything for the Department but also to create Diplomatic RP, getting SA involved to approve anything that's too large for the Director but overall you have that allowance to choose where the Department will go, with communication with the other director of course, but I want to expand our relations heavily with the UNGOC creating joint operations and delegating it to anybody that's interested in leading it!
Communication with other Departments, recently we have had issues with ISD regarding communication and detaining individuals for investigation, it is resolved now but I want to work a lot more with every Department including E&TS for an Operation Idea I have. But mainly I want to work with every department so that there will be no issues with problems being created regarding communication as there has been in the past.

"After his recent incident with the Site Advisor now Director he has gone through intense rehab to fix him, he will no longer be an issue. However we found some anomalies in his out of date evaluation apparently he infiltrated an Anarchist Group that the DEA were investigating on another site where he had to act the part. This lasted a few years resulting in him killing the entire organisation. It was noted down as self defence but he still has a recurring memory about it."
