Why are you applying for Director of Internal Security?
I am applying for Director of Internal Security because ISD has been one of the departments I have enjoyed the most during my time on SCP UK. As Commissioner, I have had the chance to be involved in investigations, disciplinary matters, policy discussions, and roleplay with other departments. That experience has made me want to take a greater role in helping guide the department.
I believe I am ready for the responsibility that comes with Director. To me, the role is not just about overseeing arrests or giving orders. It is about making sure ISD stays active, professional, and enjoyable for the people within it, while also being a department the rest of the site can rely on when serious issues arise.
One of the things I would bring to the role is a calm approach to conflict. A lot of situations become worse because people feel ignored, misunderstand each other, or are given orders without any proper explanation. I try to listen to both sides, establish what actually happened, and deal with the issue before it turns into a larger problem between departments.
I would also like to put more focus on developing lower-ranking ISD personnel. This includes helping them understand evidence handling, lawful orders, investigation conduct, and how to prepare for tribunal roleplay. My aim would be to build on the good work already being done in ISD and help keep the department fair, active, and worth roleplaying in.
I would also encourage more structured investigations and cross-department operations that give ISD personnel meaningful roleplay beyond routine arrests, while ensuring those operations remain justified and properly managed.
What makes you suitable for Director of Internal Security?
I believe I am suitable for Director because I have remained active in ISD and have gained experience with the parts of the department that matter most: investigations, disciplinary issues, policy interpretation, and working with other departments.
As Commissioner, I have learned that leadership is not only about stepping in when an arrest needs to be made. It is also about being available when somebody needs guidance, when there is confusion over policy, or when someone feels they have been treated unfairly. I make an effort to listen to concerns regardless of who raises them, because good feedback can help prevent small issues from becoming larger ones.
I also understand the responsibility ISD has when enforcing the Foundation Legal Codex. Cases should be supported by evidence, personnel should understand why action is being taken, and authority should never be used simply because someone has the rank to do so.
I would bring an evidence-focused and approachable style of leadership to the Director role. I would support Commissioners and Inspectors, help lower ranks improve, and work to make investigations, operations, and tribunal cases more organised and meaningful. I believe my experience as Commissioner, my communication skills, and the time I have put into ISD would allow me to do that well.
What are the responsibilities of the Director of Internal security in RP?
The Director of Internal Security is responsible for leading the department and making sure ISD remains active, professional, and trusted across Site-65.
A Director should support the ISD chain of command and help Commissioners, Inspectors, Investigators, Agents, and Operatives develop within their roles. This includes making sure personnel understand the Foundation Legal Codex, evidence handling, lawful orders, investigations, arrests, and professional conduct.
They are also responsible for keeping an eye on how the department is operating day to day. This can include reviewing serious cases, making sure authorised operations and audits are managed properly, supporting personnel who need extra guidance, and identifying members who are ready for promotion or further responsibility.
The Director should be someone people can approach. Staff should feel able to raise concerns, ask questions about the Legal Codex, or report misconduct without feeling dismissed because of their rank or department. When an issue cannot be resolved lower in the ISD chain of command, the Director should step in, review it properly, and make sure it is handled fairly.
Within tribunal roleplay, the Director should ensure ISD personnel and OILA are properly prepared to present clear, evidence-backed cases. While the tribunal itself remains under the appropriate judicial authority, the Director is responsible for ensuring ISD’s documentation, witnesses, reports, and conduct meet the standard expected of the department.
Finally, the Director acts as a senior point of contact between ISD, Site Administration, Foundation Command, and other department leadership. They should communicate issues within ISD upward, carry out lawful direction responsibly, and set the standard expected from senior ISD leadership.
