Age:21
In what country are you located?: United Kingdom
Time zone: GMT
Character name(s): Greg Vanderboobin
Civilian name: Greg Vander
What server are you applying for? (SCP-RP UK or SCP-RP USA): UK
Do you have a mic?: Yes

List all whitelisted, MTF, or CI roles that you hold or have held:

- I hold Combat medic, in the past I held NU-7 SPC

Have you received any kicks/bans/warning? and why?:

-Warnings for Racism and FailRP, both from 2022 when I first started

Why are you applying for Medical Consultant?

- Being a CMS and getting to train Combat medics has been extremely fun, I enjoy teaching and engaging with the medical department, I believe that this is the next step to further engagement with my team and teaching even more

What makes you suitable for Medical Consultant?:

- I have a fair amount of medical experience on and off the site, I work as a chef IRL so cuts, burns and anything first aid I have done and know very well, I also believe I can provide fun and engaging roleplay with my experience as a role player on the site, as well as teaching and training with my experience as CMS

Please explain an in-game medical procedure of your choice:

- I will be explaining the extraction/removal of a bullet, and the application of a tourniquet, from my experience as a Combat Medic in the field.

Before any steps are taken the application of a tourniquet must occur, in order to stop the flow of blood as much as you can.
Fasten the tourniquet roughly four fingers above the wound, and tighten using the windlass until bleeding stops. A properly applied tourniquet considerably pain as you are cutting off blood flow.

The first step is to assess the wound and determine whether the bullet should, or even can, be removed. The situations where the bullet shouldn't or can't be removed include, but are not limited to:
- If the bullet is located in or near an artery, because removal could lead to fatal haemorrhage and should be done in surgery;
- If the bullet is located in soft tissue, as the bullet does not cause any immediate harm, and can be left in until a later time;
- If there is multiple pieces of shrapnel, including fragmentation and or buckshot, because removal is impossible in-field.

In a situation where the bullet should be removed, the first step is to cut away any fabric caught on the wound, in order to both prevent infection and provide visibility to the wound. The next step is to disinfect and sterilise the wound and surrounding area before beginning extraction. Once ready use one hand to open the wound while using the other with forceps to extract to bullet. After the bullet has been removed store the bullet for medical examination in case of metal-related poisoning and secure transportation to Medbay for the patient and move onto the next injured personnel.

In a situation where on-field extraction is not feasible but care is required, then transport the patient to Medbay as soon as reasonably possible.

What are the responsibilities of the Medical Consultant in RP?:

-The main responsibility of a consultant is to assist the Directors of Medicine and teach trainees as well as combat medics. We are responsible for the wellbeing of all site staff, whether that be psychological or physical. Sometimes medical staff might need assistance with RP, where we come in to help make it more engaging and fun for both parties. As CL4s we deal with higher level staff and SCPs that other medical staff can't assist with.

Please give some lore about your Medical Consultant character and what storylines they would be involved in:

- Greg Vanderboobin is a Dutch police Forensics Pathologist-in-training, whose father worked in law enforcement as a Detective. Greg's father went missing when he was at a very young age, years later he joined the police force for both a passion and to investigate his father whose files disappeared alongside him. One day a body appears who he get assigned to, and during examination the body was unlike anything he had seen before. He had seen plenty of corpses but nothing like this. Unnerved he leaves and throughout the day can't get the images out of his head, he goes home and try's to push it out of his mind. The next day when he gets to station he can't find the files on the body he saw just the day before, he asks his colleagues who worked yesterday but non of them remember anything about a body like he describes. After a long day with too many questions and not enough answers, he goes home once again... only to meet two people waiting in his apartment. They seem to have answers for the questions he's had and propose an offer; answers about his father in exchange for leaving this life behind...

So his new life begins in Site 65
