What Ethics Committee role are you applying for, and why:
- I am applying for the role of Ethics Committee Members as I feel I have had plenty of past experience as a CL4 member of the site and believe that with an open slot available now is the time to take the next step and join the Committee after approximately 2 months or so of being an ECA and recent experience within the Site Administration team has given me a good insight into the workings of Site Command and the duties they uphold in greater depth than that of Junior and lower down CL4 Roles within the site such as Executive Researcher.
- I have had a big interest within the Committee and working up the ranks to eventually become an ECM since joining the site and have been gradually taking on new roles and positions to work myself up to this rank starting at the very bottom of CL4 Roles and eventually making it to Site Administration which was aided by past roles such as Executive Researcher with document writing and general writeups.
-
What makes you the best candidate for the Ethics Committee?:
- I believe I am a good candidate to join the Ethics Committee due to my extensive past experience in multiple CL4 roles and positions such as Executive Researcher, Ethics Assistant and Site Advisor, these roles have assisted me to learn important skills such as document writing to the level of that expected by Department Leads and senior members of Site Administration of which most recently have and continue to consist of departmental reviews as a Site Advisor which I am conducting myself and writing up a review upon, This gives me a strong knowledge of what to look out for as well as who to speak to and what to ask in order to gather the information needed for a review as well observing general duties of a specific department and taking notes for myself without the input of senior members in said department.
- On top of this I believe I am a highly approachable members of the site and believe anyone no matter who they are can come to me and ultimately ask anything they require and retrieve any information on something specific that they may need or wish to know. Whilst this may be an already widely held skill across the site and even Site Command I believe every member should hold this ability and no candidate should apply without this skillset.
- Within the recent months of the site I have had experience with multiple departments such as E-11, Omega-1 & the Site Administration team, this gives me a much wider knowledge of the site and leaves me in a position that not all candidates posses such as those who may not have had such an extensive stay within an MTF regiment or held a role like that of Site Advisor and been closely working with different departments within the site. As well as these factors I can also be extremely active within the site and be on for a minimum of 6 out of 7 days a week for a minimum time of 1+ Hour dependant on irl factors.

What are the responsibilities of the Ethics Committee in RP?:
The responsibilities of the Ethics Committee within RP can be different from day to day, Being one of the two departments as such within Site command they work and perform their duties within the site as well as the O5 Council with the common saying being "The Ethics Committee decide what is acceptable, The O5 Council decide what is possible."
The Ethics Committee also on a daily basis deal with any issues that occur within departments regarding the Code of Ethics such as tribunals or new policies for departments that directly regard the Code of Ethics. They also ensure the site is running smoothly day to day alongside the O5 Council whilst also announcing any and all changes to the CoE to the full site ensuring everyone is aware and knowledgeable on the changes that will be occurring when they are needed.
They also have a few other assorted responsibilities such as,
- Research department crosstests and or general tests such as SCP-008 Tests or tests such as Keter -> Keter approval.
- Code black sequences when they are needed such as evacuations and or a sitewide Nuke if it should be needed at anytime. [This could also include mass termination orders of D-Class]
- And last but not all they can authorise the use of AA or Advanced Armory for MTF should it be needed and if there are no Site Administration on-site who haven't already authorised it.
-
What are the responsibilities of the Ethics Committee out of RP (e.g. what applications do they handle?):
The Ethics Committee also has a few responsibilities outside of RP which can also include giving verdicts to applications and submitting opinions on said applications to decide whether they should be accepted and or denied.
They also hold monthly reviews on departments similarly to Site Administration gathering the full information they need in order to submit a final review which can range anywhere in grades such as "In-Good standing" or "Excellent" which are the most commonly seen throughout the departmental reviews.
Said applications are as follows,
- Director of Medicine
- Ethics Committee Assistants
- Director of the Internal affairs department which is also decided as a joint effort between Ethics and O5.
- Ethics Committee Member applications as to which they do not directly leave opinions/verdicts upon but give opinions toward the Director and show how they feel about said applicant.
-
Please give some lore about your Ethics Committee character and what storylines they would be involved in:
'Hangman', A widely known member of Site-65 has started from the bottom of the barrel in the ranking structure and has slowly worked his way up from the low ranks of Jr Researcher to the most recent appointment of Site Advisor.
'Hangman' has been a Clearance level 4 member of Site-65 for a good 2 or so months now starting out as an Executive researcher writing documents, grading others documents and authorising & observing tests by junior researchers. This assisted 'Hangman' in excelling with document writing as well as the basics of managing small groups of personnel gaining confidence and experience in a leadership and senior role. After lengthy experience as an Executive researcher, being much longer than most before moving on 'Hangman' Chose to become an Assistant on behalf of the Committee which heavily involved more document writing and assisting in gathering information on behalf of ECM's to assist with monthly reviews and being able to improve said departments with new policies and rule changes.
After recently joining the Site Administration team and edging closer to the ultimate goal of joining the Committee and becoming a Member 'Hangman' is excelling in his new position after starting on his first review on behalf of the SA team with Gensec. SA Is a new workload compared to that of Executive or ECA Which 'Hangman' always knew would be the case and expected it with the weekly reviews and extremely heavy workload that comes with the new position. However he is keeping up with all the work he has Infront of him juggling multiple issues with different departments and not singularly Gensec only.
Whilst 'Hangman' has also had previous experience within the MTF Omega-1 up to the rank of Lance Corporal which gives him a closer knowledge and standing within the Committee working directly alongside ECM's and on the odd occasion the Director at times escorting and doing general duties whilst escorting said personnel. During his time as O1 'Hangman' Also extended his own knowledge of the CoE and believes this ultimately leads to a better candidacy for the currently open slot within the Committee.
Today 'Hangman' has taken the decision to put forward his application to the Committee in the hopes that within the near future he will be drafted and accepted to become a member of the Ethics Committee and ultimately achieving his own goal since the first day he joined the facility as a Jr. Researcher at the very bottom of all site hierarchy [Still above D-Class though of course].
Please leave any and all feedback whether this be positive or negative.
