Why are you applying for Internal Security Inspector?
Over the last month i have had the opportunity to experience ISD and it has been something that i have enjoyed very much. During my time in ISD, I have been able to achieve Investigator, and since doing so, I have always been interested in going further, as I believe in the rank of Inspector I would be able to contribute to making ISD a department that is enjoyable and worthwhile.
What makes you suitable for Internal Security Inspector?:
Over my whole time in the server, I have held various roles, many being leadership roles. I believe that this makes me suitable for the role, as I understand how to be a leader and what kind of decisions leaders must sometimes take, like delegating tasks to other personnel under your command.
In addition, during all my Cl4 roles, I have been an RP leader, which has had me creating meaningful RP that the personnel within my department can enjoy and partake in. Especially during my tenure within Site Administration, I was required to make RP that was accessible for multiple departments at one point, which I believe gives me valuable experience in how interdepartmental RP can be made, for example between ISD and DEA.
What do you think describes an ideal Internal Security Inspector?:
Firstly, an Inspector must be able to communicate well with others whilst ensuring the point he is trying to relay is understood clearly and is not potentially misunderstood, as any misunderstandings would be a fault on the Inspector as a member of ISD leadership.
They must be able to know when it is best to delegate tasks to other ISD personnel, such as investigators who are well respected and experienced members of ISD. In doing so, they realise that during various scenarios, being within ISD is all about working as a team and helping one another, and the only way to do so is by accepting other people's help and not waiting for them to ask, but instead approaching them and asking for help. In any role, such as inspector, they should be able to reflect and accept help from others.
An inspector is a role model; by this point in their career, they are a well-respected leader within ISD, and with that comes the responsibility of being a role model to the new and less experienced members of ISD who are still trying to grasp what it is to be ISD. A newcomer in ISD most certainly has questions, especially when they first join the department, and Inspectors are one of the few people they might approach and ask; with this in mind, they should be willing to give them that support and answers to their questions.
How many major, roleplay-serving documents have you written? What makes a document of this nature good in terms of quality?:
During my tenure on this site, I have made various documents that have had an impact on RP, such as documents for operations. I believe that a document should be fairly detailed but not excessively; the information it contains should be relevant and useful to the matter at hand. The document should be organised into relevant sections, including sections such as an introduction, a conclusion, and an index to help make it easier for someone who is reading the document to find what they want. Lastly the document should serve a purpose whether to inform others or ask for permission etc.
What are the responsibilities of the Internal Security Inspector?:
- To help make all ISD personnel the best version of themselves, this is through inductions right at the beginning, hosting trainings, and even giving 1:1 feedback when and where it is needed.
- They should act as a role model for what ISD stands for in terms of what we expect from all our personnel but also as an example of ISD leadership.
- Managing ISD personnel who are present on site based on the current status of the site
- Regular Cl4 duties, closing BDs, approving documents, FSL, AA; occasionally the list goes on
- Acting as representative of the department in regard to taking complaints regarding ISD personnel and speaking on behalf of the department regarding relevant matters
Please elaborate on why you think you'd be a good leadership position holder for Internal Security:
I have worked in various settings where I have led groups of people, from being Site Director where I led SA who oversaw the whole site(practically with a few exemptions) where i interviewed new dpt directors, made operations for various departments. Chief of security had me lead many captains, whilst having to rebuild the department from scratch due to my fellow COS resigning and most of my captains becoming inactive. There are more that i can mention but the general point I am making is that my experiences on site have allowed me to learn when it is necessary for me to make somewhat hard decisions but also to look at solving a problem from various points of views instead of just being one-sided.
Please give some lore about your Internal Security Inspector character and what storylines they would be involved in:
Name: Harvey Bridger
Age: 32
Nationality: British
Biography:
Harvey was born in St Bartholomew’s Hospital in London, to his parents Dave and Martha Saint. His parents were very busy individuals, with his father being a doctor of astrophysics and his mother being a surgeon; due to this fact, Harvey was somewhat neglected throughout his upbringing, and due to this fact from an early point in life realised that the only person he could depend on was himself solely. With that in mind Harvey dedicated himself to his academics and worked his way into gaining a Doctorate in theoretical physics before taking on a research fellowship at the University where his father had worked previously.
It was at this time that he began to realise that for a man such as his father, who had worked effortlessly on his research he didn’t seem to have a lot to show for it. This was before he realised that his father had not been fully truthful with what he did. When he realised this, he did not immediately confront his dad but instead tried to find a way to try and make his father introduce him to the work he did. He the later on found out that his dad was an executive researcher of the SCP Foundation, and that he focused on paranormal astrological anomalies. His father was able to help him find a placement in the Foundation as a researcher working in a field similar to that of his father, where he worked on developing his understanding of paranormal anomalies.
