What makes you the best candidate for Ethics Committee Assistant?:
Personally, I believe that I’m a good candidate to be an Ethics Assistant for a multitude of reasons - The main reason being roleplay creation. In most roleplay situations that I come across, I’m always trying to push myself to take an active position within it rather than just passively sitting back. Additionally, I'm always attempting to produce roleplay for my peers and ensure they have something to engage with, rather than them just idling around.
Furthermore, I also believe that through my time playing Omega One, I have spent an ample amount of time being around and roleplaying with Ethics Assistants. Because of this, I have been able to gain enough knowledge to understand the core duties that come with being an Ethics Assistant and the responsibilities surrounding it.
I also have prior experience in a non-combative CL4 role, allowing me to already have some of the necessary experience needed to be a proficient Assistant. Due to all of this, I believe I would be a good candidate for the role of Ethics Assistant.
What are the responsibilities of Ethics Committee Assistants in RP?:
Ethics Committee Assistants have an abundance of responsibilities they have to follow to ensure the roleplay they create comes from an ethical standpoint and aligns with the character they’re playing. As an Ethics Assistant, a great amount of roleplay they engage in waters down to deducing what is, and whats not ethical from their perspective - Ethics Assistants are meant to minimise anything they view as 'corrupt' and prevent any wrong-doing from happening unless they see it as absolutely necessary.
Being a proxy for the Committee:
At times, Ethics Assistants are tasked with voicing opinions on behalf of the Committee. This is usually when no Committee members are on site or when they chose to delegate their work to their Assistants. Voicing a direct opinion from the Committee usually gives the Assistant more power in certain scenarios and allows them to enforce these opinions more reliably.
FLC:
As an Assistant, a great amount of roleplay surrounding you stems from the Foundation Legal Codex. May this be, answering questions in relation to certain articles in the FLC, acting as a defense attorney for site personnel who were accused of breaking the FLC and ensuring that everyone around you is always staying in line with the FLC.
Documentation:
Writing and acquiring documentation is usually looked over, however it is still a key responsibility for an Assistant. Committee members often rely on Assistants to be writing notes on certain situations or documenting all the key points in meetings they may have. Clean, well written documentation is a must for every Assistant.
Tribunals:
As an Ethics Assistant, you will be expected to handle Tribunals when they are brought up to you. Assistants always need to ensure the proper preparations have been made so the Tribunal is able to run smoothly and without faults.
Roleplay around site:
Ethics Assistants are usually viewed as the public face of that actual Committee, this means that more often and not - site personnel will come to you as a first point of contact. As an ECA, you are expected to accommodate all personnel who approach you and attempt to answer all questions they may ask you. It's important for Assistants to act in a way that doesn’t diminish the reputation of a Committee as a whole, instead roleplaying in a manner that upholds the standards put in place by the Committee.
