What Ethics Committee role are you applying for, and why:
- I am applying for the role of Ethics Committee member for a number of reasons. The first being, I have loved my time within Omega-1 and have always wanted to eventually move to Ethics and with the fantastic work of my current and former CO team, we’ve helped rebuild O-1 into a state where it keeps filling up thanks to the hard work of Mirage, Malia, Pyrite, Dingle and the rest of my lovely regiment with help from a present Ethics Committee to get O-1 back on its feet.
- I also think that at the moment, an Ethics Member that understands the needs of O-1 and its inner workings, and as a long standing member of REGCOM within O-1 (coming up on 4 months REGCOM and 9 months in the regiment). I think this experience allows me to be an ECM that can help Omega-1 thrive and adapt to what is needed from them at the current time, as I have done during my entire tenure as a CO.
- I am also applying as I feel as O-1 is finally in a state where A: I have someone who can take my spot and do as well as I have and B: The CO team is strong enough for me to step away into an Ethics role
- The final reason I am applying is that, throughout the last 2 months, with my time as O-1 LTCOM I have realised the RP I enjoy doing the most, doesn’t need me to have a weapon in my hand. Whether it be diplomatic talk with an overseer after an AO war or stopping a conflict before it happens, the RP I have been able to do and create as MAJ/LTCOM has been the most fun I’ve had during my entire time within O-1 and I must say, I think I’ve had enough combat within my time in O-1 to last a lifetime and am very ready to step into a non-combative role. Through playing as a body double ECM, this was the final thing that made me realise this is the next step I want to take.
What makes you the best candidate for the Ethics Committee?:
I’m no fan of bragging, but after some thinking, I believe the following makes me a good candidate for the role of Ethics Member
- Firstly, this is a ROLEPLAY SERVER before anything else and even since I’ve been an NCO within O-1, I’ve loved creating RP and storylines, whether it just be for O-1 or if it includes other departments and individuals. This is something I love doing and would love to do at an even larger scale at ECM with the use of my Game Master rank as well to help create fun and interesting Roleplay!
- Character creation, this is probably one of the biggest ones for me. Throughout my time on the server, especially in O-1 with the characters of Clank and Mantis, I have proven I can play and create interesting characters, both of the previous characters mentioned are completely different in nearly every way. I have proven I can maintain a character, grow them and act as they would. A big thing for me is to make sure that everyone in O-1 plays a character, I have been pushing this since I was an LT and will continue to push this even more as an Ethics Member
- Leadership. I believe holding the rank of LTCOM in a combative regiment shows that I can in fact lead. This is something that is extremely important for the role of ethics as now I won’t just be leasing O-1, I’ll be leading the entire site, I believe I’ve proved during my time in O-1 that leadership will not be an issue and that I have the confidence to pipe up and lead and take a bigger step within leadership roles.
- I also think I’ve proven my dedication during my time in O-1, to put it simply, I don’t quit when it gets tough. When O-1 has 12 slots open and was in a rough spot for an extremely long time when the CO team consisted of myself, Mirage and Imperial (Malia) with 2 others being fresh LT’s (I miss you both, o7 Silverback and Oasis
). The time it took to rebuild O-1 to the strong state its in today didn’t come easy, especially when our Commander stepped down after spending over a year as a CO (thank you for everything), myself and Mirage (love that guy forever), picked up the pieces and persevered to get O-1 to the strongest state I’ve ever seen it in, showing my dedication. I have also left the O-1 CO team with all the tools to succeed in the future which many may not know of including the mentoring guide, CO handbook and updating the regular handbook to ensure O-1 stays in a strong state and gives new CO’s the tools to grow and learn.
- Separating IC and OOC, this is the big one. I have proven that I can separate this on multiple occasions due to the way I play my character and the way I behave OOC as they are very different. For example, Clank is an extremely abrasive character. However on an OOC level, especially after cutting my v-time, I am a very level headed individual.
- I also believe my time within O-1, working directly with the committee on an extremely close level, even more so during my time within REGCOM and the CO team I have proven that I understand how Ethics and O-1 work, as well as being able to support O-1, which I will continue to do as a Member, probably even more than I am currently makes me the type of ECM that O-1 currently require and will benefit them.
- Good mentors. This is the main thing that makes me a good candidate is how well I was raised on the server, I’ve had incredible mentors such as Smoke, Malia, Dingle, Julien and the one who had the biggest impact on me, Pyrite
What are the responsibilities of the Ethics Committee in RP?:

Calling ERT
Authorising AA
Acting as an advisory body for foundation staff
Primary Action in certain cases on the O5 council
Authorising Mass Termination of D-Class within D-Block
Creating orders for O-1, AO and ECA’s! (OOC and IC thing)
Ensure D-Class are treated fairly (D-Class housing woah!)
Overseeing ISD and its actions
Authorising a code black when needed
Acting in the way of the mission statement and doing what is needed, determining what is right and what is wrong
Maintaining the longest lie of the committee being pencil pushers.
Hold people accountable and ensure they see consequences when needed
High tribunals in very rare cases.
Helping, assisting and managing (NOT micro-managing!!) Omega-1
Creating engaging RP for O-1
Giving O-1 tasking
Creating RP for all departments and regiments on the server
Being a reliable person
Being approachable
Keeping a close eye on the Council
Helping to judge and set up tribunals
Appointing ECA’s as judges in tribunals

What are the responsibilities of the Ethics Committee out of RP (e.g. what applications do they handle?):
Ethics handle the DoISD applicants
Ethics Handle the Omega-1 COM and LTCOM promotions (thanks for mine and Mirage’s promotions guys!)
ECM’s also have a say in other ECM applicants
They also handle ECA applications
Ethics also weigh in on O5 applicants, however, it is the O5’s ultimate decision
The same goes for the Site Director Applicants
There are other OOC duties I don’t really see mentioned such as:
Helping O-1 on an OOC level, especially the CO team and REGCOM
Helping other Departments and discussing OOC matter with their leads
Implementing and creating policies for the server
Help SA oversee Departments
Help create the FLC and edit it when needed
Giving feedback on certain aspects of the server
Often engaging in conversation with Server Leadership about certain topics
Ensuring behaviour within the server on an OOC level is good.
Please give some lore about your Ethics Committee character and what storylines they would be involved in:
Note, due to the long term character creation and the fact I deem him incredibly fit to play in an Ethics Role, I will be carrying over my current character ‘Clank’, however ditching the code-name and using his full name. This will be a secret IC to all but O-1 REGCOM and the Committee, I plan to use this fact for a story line where people try figure out what happened to Clank as his disappearance will be made intentionally vague. I love this character and believe it is the perfect fit for how I wish to play my Ethics Member!
