I would bring my dedication to Lore and high quality roleplay, in addition to my experience working in the leadership of a roleplay intensive and highly regulated department, having helped draft and enforce many of the policies of the Scientific department even before becoming its director.
I also bring leadership experience both from my time as a long standing, if not high ranking, member of Omega-1 and being the Divisional Head of the Sigma-1 Division operated by the research department.
As per my time in Omega-1 I am also in posession of adequate combat skills and knowledge of things such as formations and breaching protocols, which would find their applications in the GOC as well.
Joining the GOC would allow me to take part in roleplay from a different angle, one more adverserial to the Foundation,which had previously been effectively the only faction i had ever really played as.
The GOC being one of the more interesting GoIs on the SCP-Wiki helps this, and putting the world, site, and SCPs contained therein into their perspective, e.g. creating files on the Threat entities of Site-65 would prove very fun.
The Coalition was founded in the aftermath of WW2 and the Seventh Occult War as a conglomeration of the Surviving occultist organisations of greater Europe banding together to ensure Humanity´s survival against the Paranatural and those who would seek to use it to harm mankind.
This effort was internationalised as Nationalism and International conflict would threaten any organisation dedicated to doing so if it were purely nationalised.
PHYSICS is the Action arm of the GOC, they consist of Assesment and Strike teams. Assesment teams locate, observe and prepare responses to the Threat Entity, while the Strike teams work to either capture or outright destroy the TE.
PSYCHE is the diplomatic arm of the Coalition, the main of their duties is to keep peace with non-hostile Paranormal powers, such as the Foundation or the governace of Three Portlands, in addition to keeping watch for new parathreats in areas likely to uncover them, such as excavations.
PTOLEMY is the supporting arm of the GOC, being responsible for duties such as Logistics with their quartermasters, or the Research of new Paranatural Technology such as the Coalitions Iconic Suits.
The Coalition is defined by the Fivefold mission.
1. Survival
The Coalition wants to ensure humanity´s survival as their primary duty.
2. Concealment
The Existence of the Paranatural is to be hidden from the general public to avoid the horrible consequences of the whole world being aware of the anomalous.
3. Protection
The GOC, more than the Foundation, aims to protect both involved GOC Agents and Civilians from Parathreats whenever possible.
4. Destruction.
Threat entities are to be destroyed when possible as their continued existence poses an existential risk to the human race, and no risks should be taken to ensure their survival.
5. Education.
The GOC wishes to learn all it can about the Paranatural in order to better execute its missions.
The Seventh Occult War was a supernatural war which ran Parallel to the Second World War, largely fought between the then Allied Occult Initiative, operated by the allied forces, and the Ahnenerbe Obskuracorps, which fought on the side of the Axis powers and primarilly Nazi Germany.
A Key aspect of said war in most canons is SCP-3457, "The Rite of Solomon", a powerful Thaumaturgic working consisting of many cultural artifacts and a ritual, which would create a demiurge in control of the laws of Thaumaturgy and empower an idividual to take control of said Demiurge, effectively granting them Godlike power to reshape Thaumaturgy to their wishes, which the Obskuracorps wished to use to strip any thaumaturgic powers from "Non-Aryan" individuals, and Empower themselves in turn to win WW2.
After this failed, the GOC and Foundation decided to each only hold a part of SCP-3457, the Foundation being in posession of key objects themselves, and the GOC being in posession of the knowledge required to execute it, in order to ensure neither group may ever be able to use it without an Accord with the Other, something that would ideally never happen.
Unlike most GoIs, such as the Sarkist Cults, The Insurgency or The Clockwork orthodoxy, not only is the Coalition actually on par with the Foundation in terms of Scale, perhaps even more established than they are, but they also are not a very Secretive group. Aside from the General public, the Coalition is a openly Political organisation which involves itself in the lives of the anomalous community, being a main-stay in the enclave of 3-Portlands for example and ensuring their Veil-compliance with the Unusual Incidents Unit.
The Foundation in contrast begrudges to have other parties aware of its Existence when not of their own volition, as they belive their work must be conducted in the dark.
Lastly, the part which makes the GOC arguably the polar opposite of the Foundation is its disregard for any Paranatural object that poses any danger at all, and their actual valuing of human life. The Foundation would rather have thousands of civilian causalties than be unable to secure an anomaly.
The GOC in contrast would not hesitate to destroy any Threat Entity posing a risk to a population centre immediatly, its approach, unlike any other GoI is "Humanity First", attempting to be the most ethical paranatural organisation, yet they are also the ones most attached to the Status-quo and the preservation of normalcy, whereas the Foundation views it more as a means to an end than a goal in and of itself, and other GoIs view it as a hinderance and actively work against it, such as the Serpents hand.
