What Ethics Committee role are you applying for, and why:

I am applying for the role of Ethics Committee Member

As for the reasons behind why, recently I have been wanting to switch up the RP that I have been doing. To that end, I transferred to Omega-1 and while I do love the new RP opportunities that are open to me I wanted to take it a step further. Being an ECM will not only allow me to create RP for Omega-1 but will also allow me to create larger RP scenarios for all the departments on site. While on the server, I have always watched what Ethics was doing and wanted to be directly involved as a Member of the Committee. The unique RP avenues that are open to the Ethics Members is something that I want to experience and enhance with my own hands. I will always strive to help enhance roleplay where I can and with this role, I know it would allow me many more chances to do so.

What makes you the best candidate for the Ethics Committee?:

I will split this up into sections to condense the information in this part.

Roleplay:
Starting with the main subject that in my eyes is one of the most important skills you need when applying for a position like this. During my time on the server I have grown a lot, especially in how I go about my interactions on the server. Creating characters and playing them out with your unique twists is something that I will never get bored of. It makes every interaction you have different and with what I have learned I know I will be able to make sure the RP being given out is as enjoyable as possible. I like to make sure there is a balance between serious situations and more light-hearted ones that everyone can just enjoy to wind down and relax with. I know that I still have a lot that I will improve on over my time on the server and I hope that I will be allowed to do that with the ECM role.

Leadership:
Most of my time has been spent leading combative regiments which may make you think that I only know how to lead in a combative sense. However, that's not entirely true, a lot of my time has been spent leading roleplay scenarios and fleshing them out. I have always strived to involve as many people as I can not only in the RP I create but the RP I join in on. I always try to think "What would it be like to be them right now" to at least attempt to understand what they might be thinking in that situation. I personally wouldn't want to be stood at a door listening to the RP, I would want to be involved. I always delegate where I can to allow more people to be involved in situations whilst still giving them oversight on what their task is. Answering questions about ongoing RP is something I am always happy to do, guiding them in the baseline while trying not to railroad them too much. I always invite people to do the RP their way and make mistakes where possible because that can always spin off into something fun. As an A-1 MAJ I had been leading the A-1 informants program for quite a while. This includes almost every department/regiment aside from Omega-1 which brought a larger RP circle to the people involved. This is just one example of projects/larger RP that I have led.

Feedback:
There are two sides to feedback that I want to talk about here. The first being the feedback I have given out to people. After either a training that I hosted or just RP that I oversaw, I always attempt to reach out to people involved to give them tips on how they could improve. One example could be to tell them how they could be more detailed in the /me's they are doing. Another would be a reminder to utilize /it's to describe whatever could be happening around them. On the other hand I also take feedback wherever possible questioning people after situations on what I could have done better to help me improve.

Enthusiasm & Dedication:
I want to use this section to talk about how much enthusiasm I have for learning and playing this role to the best standard I can provide. I am actively reading up on ethics lore to gain a deeper understanding of what they have done in the past. I want to use that to give me ideas on what I can do whilst on the server. I will always be dedicated to the betterment of RP standards this role will allow me a platform to attempt to do it on a wider scale than I have already.

Conclusion:
I have outlined above the main reasons as to why I feel as though I should be given this chance to play the role of an ECM. I have always put 100% into whatever I have set my mind to whilst on and off the server. As of right now, I have set my mind to learning what makes a good ECM for the server in its current state and intend to put that to good use.

What are the responsibilities of the Ethics Committee in RP?:
Starting with the FLC, the Ethics Committee is responsible for managing and upholding this. If they feel as though changes need to be made to it such as; an addition, removal or changes to the current charges, they are the ones who would take on this job.

While they have control over Omega-1 they should be utilizing their operatives giving them tasks/orders they can carry out on a day-to-day basis. They should be literally using them as their hand to reach into the places they don't go. While providing RP is the main thing they should be giving to their operatives they should also be giving them opportunities to grow in other aspects. They also have Ethics Assistants that they have to handle. Again just giving them tasks/orders they can partake in while on site.

One of the more fun responsibilities of the Committee is to uphold their secretive nature. Allowing the personnel around the site to believe they are a CL4 member of staff at least in the eyes of the public. Then behind the scenes, you have the fact they are actually CL5 and the true power that they hold. To state the obvious of what ethics do here; They are the ones that decide the way that everything is to be done. They draw that line in the sand and say this is where we stop and we don't cross it.

In lore and the server the O5 Council will always be one of the people that do cross this line and in times like that the Ethics Committee would be responsible for voting on and carrying out primary action. They would then have to replace the entire Council with people that they personally trusted and voted on. If Primary Action isn't needed but a specific overseer is still acting out of place, they can always just vote for the killing of one specific member.

One of the more basic duties they have is during an SCP breach they are to determine when AA is required. They will also be in charge of calling a code black when breaches get bad enough and if needed they can activate the failsafe.

You then also have their role during a tribunal, they can act as the judge presiding over the trials that are to go on. They would be the ones that decide what charges people are guilty of and a fitting punishment for them considering their crimes. They also allocate Omega-1 resources to the defense of the tribunal hall during this time.

What are the responsibilities of the Ethics Committee out of RP (e.g. what applications do they handle?):

Starting off with the applications that they handle, they are in charge of voting for and deciding who will become the Director of ISD as well as who gets the role of Ethics Assistant. Another position that they often get a say in is the role of the Omega-1 Commander. Apart from that they should also be trying to give out opinions on people that are applying for other roles that they don't directly control. While not required of them it is still a nice thing to do to give people feedback in the areas they are lacking.

Piggybacking off of the last section about feedback they are also responsible for the overall quality of RP that is going on around the site. They are the ones that will be providing roleplay opportunities to the other departments around the site but this is especially true for Omega-1. With them being the Ethics Committee's personal MTF group, you should be ensuring that the people within it are being given every chance to improve their RP Standards.

Again staying on the topic of Omega-1 the responsibility of an Ethics member would be to make sure they are keeping constant communication with them. This doesn't just include the CO team Enlisted and NCOs should also feel like they can come and talk to you. A long with attending the CO and Regimental meeting to provide feedback to the regiment for the past week and announce any plans they have moving forward. Not only should they have communication with Omega-1 but also the O5 Council and Alpha-1.

Lastly, they have the responsibility of creating and maintaining documentation. Whether that be for Tribunals or just something that they are planning to hand over to someone in-game. They must uphold a certain level of standard for their documents and make sure that they are putting effort into what they make.

Please give some lore about your Ethics Committee character and what storylines they would be involved in:

I won't lie, reading this application was enjoyable. I can tell you understand your duties as a potential ECA.

Just one question.

Are you sure you are currently holding the rank of Delta in CI? Cause i am a current CI Gamma, and i do not remember ever seeing you play CI.
Your response will depend on whether i will be +supporting your application or not

Going +Support. Dennid provided evidence that you are indeed in CI. Please forgive me for my mistake

I know you're an amazing roleplayer, however I have some issues with your application - first of all I would love to see more In-Character duties of the Ethics Committee, you're missing a point where they decide what is acceptable and what is not, which is main point why they were founded.
Second of all (that's just me), I hate that the duties are written in bulletpoints and have close to none description.
Expand on them a bit so people reading your application can get a better view if you're aware of the Ethics Committee purpose!

For now it will be Neutral towards +Support, I will glady change it to a full +Support if you slightly improve your Responsibilities in RP area of the application!

Edit:
I see that you have taken criticism and expanded on responsibilities in RP and they're looking much better now, that is why I will be changing my verdict and leaving
+Support.
Good to see that you take opinions to heart and listen to them!

Good luck,
Jack Raider

I must, with regret, give a -Support. While i still stay by my statement that your application was quite enjoyable to read, i have also taken a look at the CI main roster, and even the IRU roster since you had roles for them on discord.

The names you provided on your application do not appear on any of CI's rosters. You are not a CI-Delta on UK. You were never a DELCOM either.
If i am wrong, please provide proof that you are in fact a Delta, and i will gladly change back to +Support, as it is also possible that i could be blind.

This is just one example of projects/larger RP that I have led.
name them all then, ya goob. This is where you become a big boy CL5, show all ya cards here.

Anywho, I feel like the jump from A-1 MAJ to ECM is a bit icky. You haven't got any ECA or SA experience, and you've been O-1 SGT now for like what, 2 days? idk. I'm just unsure of how you'd handle being in a big role like this, with no prior experience in SA, or even a Director position.

alas, your leadership is good, you actually play the game, you're physically capable of roleplay, buzzword buzzword buzzword.
Same as Tiago above, +/-Neutral leaning towards +Support

best of luck cuh
