Why are you applying for Medical Consultant?
-
As someone who has been on this server for almost 3 years at this point, I've always pursued combative paths and I would like a change of pace. I constantly play Senior Doctor (Along with Combat Medic if needed), I'm pretty much on daily and I always try to do my best while on both of those jobs. I am applying for Medical Consultant because I believe this is the right step in order for me to assist and take on more duties/responsibilities within the Medical Department. I wish to provide engaging RP opportunities for members of Site-65 and this will help me accomplish that goal. I truly do enjoy the Medical RP and I hope MLT will appreciate having another Consultant around to assist in their duties.

What makes you suitable for Medical Consultant?:
-
The reason I'm suitable for Medical Consultant is because I'm constantly active, open-minded, friendly and get along with everyone within Site-65. I have experience with Medical RP and constantly interact with other members of personnel around the site, engage in and try to create RP wherever possible and do my medical duties to the best of my abilities. I know when to be serious and treat every RP scenario with seriousness and great respect for the people currently engaging within the scenario. I'm also known throughout the site due to the previous roles I've held so I believe people will be comfortable coming to me for anything they need help with.

Please explain an in-game medical procedure of your choice:
-
One of THE most common issues medical staff will deal with are illnesses. It's such a common issue that I carry three injection vial cases with cures on the fly. These illnesses come in a wide variety, ranging from the common cold to a sinus infection or even Influenza. The way I treat patients who come into medbay with such illnesses are as follows:

1) Observe - Assess the patient for any obvious symptoms. This could include enlarged limbs or erratic/involuntary movement which points towards the patient having a sinus or bacterial infection.

2) Communication - Talk to the patient, ask how they're feeling and try to get a dialogue going with them. Have they been coughing or sneezing? Is there blood when they cough? These symptoms can be signs of a cold or chest infection.

3) Identification - Regardless of your experience within the Medical Department, it's always safer to follow what you've been taught then go off what you're used to. Take the patient to the Infection Scanner and make sure they're comfortable before initiating the scan. Once the scan comes back positive for any ailment they may have, take them to the chem room and have them wait outside while you prepare the cure which are displayed on the whiteboard inside. Once the cure is ready, approach the patient and administer it one of two ways; via oral consumption or an injection. Most of the time the patient will drink it but if they're having trouble swallowing or breathing, using a chemical injector is the best option.

4) Documentation (Optional) - Once you've administered the cure and ensured the patient is healthy, you can ask their name for the record and record the procedure you just did. It's a great way to learn documentation work along with understanding procedures.

What are the responsibilities of the Medical Consultant in RP?:
-
Medical Consultants are, in essence, the teachers of the medical department. They ensure medical trainees get their medical licenses, providing guidance and assistance along the way to them and other medical personel. They're also to give tasks and ensure medical personel are doing their duty or tasks they've been assigned, making sure the department is running smoothly in the process while Directors handle more important matters that Consultants cannot. One of their most overlooked duties is communication and relationships between other departments within Site-65. They should try their absolute best to keep relationships with departments healthy and make sure communications are clear and understood.

Please give some lore about your Medical Consultant character and what storylines they would be involved in:

O5-3: Really? A sarkic? We already have enough freaks running around in this damn site... What makes her so special?

Dpt. Director ██: In regards to Dr. Cross and her sect, they have a... Unique understanding and outlook on humanity and life. They're not like other Proto-Sarkic sects and view technology as a burden but not to the point where they would seek out destruction of it unless it directly interfered with their religious practices.. An example of this would be a device that could counter their carnomancy or reverse the effects of their fleshcrafting. Overall, they avoid technology wherever possible and try to stay grounded.

O5-3: And you know all of this infomation, how?

Dpt. Director █: Surveillance teams have been keeping a close on her and the sect for over a year at this point. We've sent in units disguised as members and they've reported back that she actively goes out of her way to help those in need, sect member or civilian. Dr. Cross seems to have an aversion to technology like most of the sect but not hatred, she views it as a necessary "evil" to keep the guise of normalsy. She also has an impressive background with multiple degrees in the field of medicine, along with earning a reputation within the town due to her medical capabilities.

O5-3: So? We can find someone else. Not some blood mage... *a loud sigh exits -3's mouth* You understand how much of a risk she could pose to The Foundation, right?

Dpt. Director █: I understand your distaste for her kind and others of that nature but think of it this way. She doesn't use carnomacy to cause distruption to the natural order of things like some sects would do... She's using it, from what we can tell, for the betterment of humanity and this could be an oppurtunity to finally understand what the Sarkics and their sects are capable of! Do you not agree, sir?

*The sound of a folder being closed is heard. Nothing but silence for the next minute as the Director awaits his response.*

O5-3: Fine. Contact her. I'm doing this because I trust you but if this goes awry it's YOUR ass on the line.... We'll restrict her access to certain sections within our sites for the safety of others along with monitoring her activity. If she so much as BREATHES the wrong way, I want to know. Understood, Director?

Dpt. Director █: Loud and clear, sir.

O5-3: You're dismissed...

*Footsteps are heard walking away, -3 sighing once again as the tape ends*

The app is good and such, thats not an issue, and I know you can RP.

My issue lies in the fact that you have been Sr Doctor for MAYBE 5 days.. At most like 6.. It seems like you're jumping the gun a bit here. I understand the urge to progress through ranks and develop your character but you can easily expand on your character from lower roles before moving up.

It's obvious your current goal is consultant, but what about after that? Will you leave this job for a slightly higher one in another 5 days? I just feel like you're trying to rush it when you can take your time a bit more.. Even if you waited like.. at least a week..

Then again, medical is not my expertise, maybe this is common, but I believe its just a little too fast.

Consultant isn't a senior, and you getting it isn't remotely an issue in my eyes, but it's a bit fast to get to it already and it paints a bad picture for future goals, that's all!

Heyhey! I appreciate the response and detailed explanation but I'd like to give some clarifications. I've been on the server for nearly 3 years at this point and understand how the site runs, have an insane amount of medical RP from other servers under my belt and literally no life the server. I think my short time as Sr Doc can be made up for with my time played and constant activity. Once I reach Consultant I will stay at that rank until the foreseeable future so there's no need to worry there! My main reason for "rushing" into this is because I feel that at I can do a lot more as a consultant with my activity and I've been told by others that they believe I should apply due to how well I've been doing. Once again, thank you for the response and I hope this clears up any concerns you may have <3
