ISD Investigator

Have you received any kicks/bans/warning? and why?:
I recieved one warning right when I first joined for being a bit innapropriate when testing as a D class.

What makes you the best candidate for Ethics Committee Assistant?:
I believe I'd make a great ECA as I am first and foremost a fairly calm and level headed person. I try to look at everything which is in front of me and make a decision based on facts. I also really try to push roleplay forward and do things that are not always the same each time. For example, if I am playing as a researcher, I try to do things that are not always done, try to think of experiments that will be fun for all involved but also could maybe cross some ethical guidelines. Aiming to invite the RP from other sides to either get involved or push back against it. When im on ISD, I dont always just throw someone in a cell if they do something minor, ill talk to them about it, maybe make them do a few laps around the MTF loop, get them to do some training or just give them a warning. Unless someone is truly just being malicious or rude, putting them in a cell for 10 minutes stops the RP right there, when theres always lots of options.

When it comes to paperwork, I enjoy it and would love to contribute to both IG and external documents. I take pride in the work I do and believe that reflects in the end results.

Recently I had the opportunity to take part in a mock tribunal as the prosecution, and I really enjoyed it and got lots of positive feedback around it. This pushed me to make this application. I really think a lot of the responsibilities of of an ECA play to my strengths, whether thats as a judge, as a defence to the accused, monitoring site personell to ensure they are following guidelines / the FLC or just being someone that can help out others by giving information or sorting out problems.

In general, I feel like I have a good rounded knowledge of the different departments, at least at face value, and would love to realy dig in to the Ethics committee, learn more about how they work and push them forward in roleplay and maturity. I pride myself on generally being an easy person to talk to and work with.

What are the responsibilities of Ethics Committee Assistants in RP?:
Ethics Committee Assistants should

Ensure the site is acting ethically
ECA's should be monitoring the different departments, ensuring everyone is following site policies and are behaving in an ethical way. ECA's can also uphold the FLC by judging in tribunals and assisting ISD investigations.

Represent the Ethics Committee
ECA's are the face of the Ethics Committee, and they should behave as such. They should be knowledgeable on site policies and they should behave respectably & fairly. They need to make decisions on experiments that ensure the site is progressing its research, whilst not risking our own humanity.

Behave as a CL4
As a CL4, ECA's have a level of trust and responsibility handed to them that should not be abused. They should help out across the site wherever possible to ensure everything is running smoothly and efficiently.

Be an approachable individual
Ultimately, people need to be able to approach ECA's with the problems they have and be able to confide in them about potentially confidential or risky situations. Every ECA needs to uphold this as it only takes a single one to erode all the trust and good will of the committee.

Please give some lore about your Ethics Committee Assistant character and what storylines they would be involved in:

The formative years
Kyle was born in the Zimbabwe to british expats. Due to rising tensions in the area, at an early age, his parents went back to the UK and settled there in London. Kyle always had an interest and law the rule of law, so got a degree in Law from Kings College London. After graduating, Kyle struggled to find employment, so whilst applying, volunteered as a magistrate in the British court system. Eventually a law firm based in Canada offered Kyle a relocation package to work at their firm as an associate.

Foundation recruitment & Early career
During his time as an Associate, he gained the watchful eye of the foundation who were looking for potential ISD agents. After an extended period of observation, interviews and background checks, the role was offered to Kyle who accepted.

Kyle spent the early stages of his career as an agent working on various cases for the department concerning misbehavior, neglect of containment procedures, and corruption within the Foundation's employees. Even though he began as a secondary member of the investigation teams, he soon showed rare talent in recognising contradictions in the accounts of witnesses and finding hidden facts. His involvement in a number of successful convictions of junior and high-ranking individuals helped Kyle build a reputation of a meticulous and difficult to decieve investigator.

As an Agent, Kyle gained a reputation as someone with a keen eye for investigation, but also being a formidable opponent as a prosecutor. The Ethics Committee took a liking to his approach to prosecution; always being fair but also strict when needed, and they offered him a role as assistant.

ECA Interview
In Kyle's ECA interview, he talked about wanting to focus in on the Judicial side of the Ethics Committee wherever possible, being the go-to, no nonsense judge that can control the courtroom and ensure justice is found. Kyle also mentioned wanting to break down barriers between lower ranking personnell and higher, being that face that anyone could talk to and avoiding any cliques that may seperate him from the floor level employees.
