- Why are you applying for Special Agent? -

After my well-deserved break from the server after previously leaving the positions within Site Administration (back in February), I have since returned and of course came back to my original Dept; DEA. My aim is to become active and reclaim a high presence within the community once again. DEA was my first Dept I ever played on this server, the first whitelisted role I held, the first CL4 role I held, the first Dept I ever lead as a Director. A lot of 'firsts' in there. However, that means that DEA was the place where I built the very foundation of all my experience that I now prosper from on the server.

The reason DEA has such a special place in my heart is not only due to its personal importance to myself but also the versatileness of the Dept itself. When I compare this to other Departments on the site the sheer amount of unique roles that this Dept can take on is fascinating and ultimately enjoyable to be apart of. By going for Special agent once again I feel as if I am re-establishing myself back into the server correctly and at the right pace, by working my way back up it prevents me from immediately aiming high for Senior positions after such an extensive break. Special Agent allows me to do that but also is the gateway for further Senior positions that I wish to hold again. During my absence, I understand that I have missed many things and changes to the site, I am still rather rusty to it all you could say, however, Special Agent is the ideal role for me to learn these things that have occurred so that I can become the best version of myself for the server. As well as coming back to relearn some of the new things around the site I am also looking forward to working alongside both newer members and familiar faces within DEA.

I believe my previous experience and success can be very valuable to the current team within DEA while also understanding I need to earn my place again. As RP is my main focus on the site all times and this is proven through my choices of roles I go for and also the preferred approach that I still stand by and always have about DEA being an RP department that should not focus on combat, only when it is needed or it is the priority in that moment in time. Therefore, I am interested in creating RP and also boosting the activity and presence of the CL4 team. I am ultimately just excited to get back into speed of where I once started. To be able to once again represent the site in external relations and interactions with GoI's.

- What makes you suitable for Special Agent?: -

First of all, I believe my previous experience within DEA, including progressing through the department once before all the way to the top, this allows me to fully understand the actual role of DEA and what is expected of it as a Dept within the site. This ensures that within the leadership team I can be trusted, looked up to by agents and guide the newer people within there. Previous leadership positions taught me how important professionalism, communication and setting a very clear example is, and I believe that these will allow me to contribute really well as a Special Agent. With that as well it means that I already have a very strong understanding of GoI relations and how most importantly how DEA should conduct themselves during interactions with them.

Moving on, I know that I have a strong ability to remain calm and professional during unexpected or high pressure situations. In DEA, these types of situations happen all the time meaning that my ability to deal with them is a huge benefit to the Dept and especially guidance in other agents. I have very strong experience and knowledge in dealing with responsibility and sensitive situations correctly. My ability to take initiative when it is needed is something I am keen to doing but also know when it is not needed in a moment of not overstepping my boundaries. Basically, I understand the importance of this Dept and my competence to be able to communicate effectively with both, within the site and outside the site, this skill is something that is vital for somebody to perform well within DEA.

By returning after a 5 month break, yes it means I am a bit rusty in some places, yes it means that I am still learning but it also means that I have a fresh perspective and a reset level of motivation for wanting to succeed and do well again. I have the strong desire to rebuild within this Dept with activity, commitment and consistent effort which is nothing less that I have put into every single one of the roles that I have held. I perform, in every role, to the absolute best of my ability and I believe others will agree at this point.

Ultimately, previous experience in DEA provides me with a strong understanding of the department and also what is expected of it. With, my qualities of professionalism, communication skills, leadership experience and knowledge of GoI relations how to deal with them makes me well suited for special Agent. Also, coming back with a new level of motivation and determination to this role and the server, means that I will put in the work once again. I am confident that with my abilities, qualities and skills it will allow me to make a positive effect as a special agent if given the opportunity again.

- How many documents have you written? What makes a document good?: -

Writing documents is always something I have surprisingly enjoyed, it is like an art and it makes you feel proud depending on the subject of them. I have written a significant amount of documents in my time on the server, too many too count, particularly in positions of DEA, SA and ECA. These were the ones where I made the most documents. However, I will be focusing on the documents I have created that were related to DEA. Rather than listing all of my documents, I will highlight three that are relevant and really show my ability and range when it comes to creating proper docs.
- MC&D Selling Contract -
This document I made was a brand new version of a ready out-dated document that was still being used 2 years on. This was a 9 page document that I made when I was DoDEA. It's purpose was to update and clarify the rules of MC&D on the site, acting as a formal agreement with them. It included rules, restrictions, expectations and guidelines for both the MC&D and the DEA dealing with it. Making this document required very careful planning as if it was incorrect it would be quite a big problem that could have allowed a GoI to do things we did not intend to happen while on the site. This document demonstrates my ability to make structed, detailed, up-to-date and professional documents. It is to my knowledge that the same document is still in circulation today and is still used as the primary selling permit for MC&D on the site for DEA with some slight tweaks from the current DEA leadership.
- UNGOC Liaison Treaty -
This doc marked quite an important point in my tenure as DoDEA, not only for myself but also for the entire site and the history of DEA. I made an 8 page treaty which mostly regarded the introduction of a UNGOC Liaison office on the site. It was the one document that I probably the most proud of out of any them pretty much due to the time, effort and planning it took to finalise this doc. Countless days of repeating meetings with GOC to iron out imperfections and desires in the treaty. It covered all responsibilities, limitations, expectations, active agreements between both the foundation and the UNGOC. To make this it required a very strong and confident level of inter diplomatic relations and professional document representation. For this document I also made a custom watermark that combined both Foundation logo and the UNGOC logo on the front page with a handshake agreement in between, this marked the point of a very strong and important agreement between us both.

- DEA Induction Presentation -
This was a slideshow that was used to induct new agents into the department alongside a quiz that met the topics that were within the doc. Used as a formal training resource for the department. It shows my ability can also be used to heavily assist the Dept as a whole in an educational way leading to a major benefit to it. I can make any type of document, this proves it as making an informative document as well as sole administrative ones.

For a document to be a successful one and what makes it a 'good' one is many different reasons that all work together in order to produce a final piece. Clear structure and organisation is a very important thing to always keep in mind when making a document, this makes information on it easier to understand and read. All of my documents have professional formatting that reflects the relevant theme of the doc, this makes the doc look aesthetically pleasing, making it appear better and more professional. A document needs accurate and relevant information, if a doc contains unnecessary info that is not needed, the reader will become bored and most probably just begin to skim read the doc, leading to missing knowledge of the doc; so keep it concise and relevant but still ensure that everything that is needed is in the doc. Obviously, the basics of spelling, grammar and readability are the absolute basics of making a doc. Also, when I made my documents I included personalised and self-made watermarks (images) in all of the docs, this makes it appear very professional and organised to the reader. Some of the footers and formatting styles I introduced are still used within DEA documents today.

- What are the responsibilities of the Special Agent in RP?: -

Special Agents are the frontline of the DEA leadership team, it is the bulk of it and are the primary and first point of contact for the team itself. SPA's have an extensive amount of responsibilities, both internally and externally. A Special Agent is expected to assist DEA leadership, oversee agents and represent the foundation properly when working with GoI's. They play a very significant role in creating RP opportunities, maintaining relations and ensuring the standards of DEA are upheld and consistent across everyone in it.

- Authorising and Overseeing Extremal Interactions -
SPA is a key role in diplomatic situations. SPA can authorise Hostile GoI's on site and below when it is needed. As well as that, SPA's need to ensure that any activities with external GoI's always follow procedures and expectations of the foundation. It is their responsibility for ensuring these interactions are conducted properly.

- Leading Meetings and Negotiations -
SPA's need to be able to leading meetings with GoI's and do it in a conducted way. This is directly representing the foundation during any diplomatic discussions so it needs to be handled correctly and to the upmost standard. It is on behalf of the DEA leadership team that the SPA's always work towards maintaining positive and beneficial relations where it is possible.

- Supervising DEA Personnel -
A SPA needs to provide guidance and support towards Agents that are below them in order to work towards their own development in DEA. It also falls under making sure the standards a re upheld in DEA, by making sure agents are acting professionally and adhering to the departmental expectations. All of this added up is a very key thing a SPA needs to be able to do, which is being able to develop agents accurately so that it benefits the Dept in the long run.
- Conducting Trainings -
SPA need to run consistent training sessions that help to show the expectations of DEA and also an accurate guide to what agents will be doing in their jobs. Also do license trainings for agents in DEA, primarily Sniper License. This helps to make sure personnel in DEA have the knowledge needed to do their duties.

- Conduct Inductions -
SPA's are to run inductions for new agents that are wanting to join DEA. This is done by presenting a document and handbook with the adequate information that they need to be able to perform in the Dept and then them doing a quiz so that it can be tested that they got the accurate knowledge. Done by the command !jobapprove once finished.

- Maintaining Relations with GoI's -
When a situation appears that seems to be something that will be a lasting effect to current relations, it is a SPA's job to ensure that it does not happen and relations are kept the same, always trying to find a middle ground but always benefits the foundation. This can be done by; Covering up actions of the foundation, negotiations, meetings, hostile action (if required) etc.

- Assisting Department Leadership -
As said previously, SPA's are the frontline brute force of the Dept Leadership. They need to be able to carry out tasks ordered by Manager and Directors accurately and to the best of their ability and meets expectations of their order. Also, assisting in the creation, promotion and doing of DEA operations and projects. Overall, helping ensure the Dept operates effectively.

- Creating and Leading Roleplay -
As DEA is primarily an RP Dept, SPA's as part of the CL4 team need to create and maintain RP opportunities for DEA and also the wider site. Not only when leading these scenarios, whether it is meetings, interrogations, investigations, operations, diplomacy and other unique RP situations it has always been a key priority of mine that agents below me, CL3 personnel, are always involved in it instead of being stood there bored by giving them the opportunity to participate when it is available.
