Hiya, former U.K SCP Glazer Mase Latte here. Recently, as I've seen the U.K state, some things have been pretty lacking. I remember seeing a lot of activity from both O-1 & Ethics back in 2024, now that WAS 2 years ago. But, it doesn't mean we can't return it to its glory from 2024. I feel like we should try our best to keep some important divisions such as O-1 and Ethics active, even if it means making some changes. I know we don't have a chairman, but just because we don't have the highest rank in ethics doesn't mean we can't have a leader within the division, same goes for all.

Let's try to get U.K back to its former glory.

Ain't gonna happen

Speaking from personal experience,
E-11 and Nu7 are too "second-job"-ey,
SA for all intents and purposes doesn't exist

Best area in the server atm for actually experiencing it funnily enough, is CI. AO are okay. ISD are okay. From what I can tell, RSD, medical, DEA & GSD are okay.

and while the GM team are doing okay, being a GM is too "second-job"-ey.
Staff I hear aren't doing bad, but they're not doing great, either.

Everything is taken a little too seriously for what's supposed to be a GMod RP server.

There is no progression to be had in this server. This entire server is permeated with stagnation, mostly because everything is supposed to seem apparent to everyone. No-one tells anyone a damn thing.

Be like me. I quit trying to get anywhere last year and decided to take up casual mingery. It's improved my mood a lot. From time to time, I take a few moments to challenge all this and pick a fight with literally everyone, demanding that they prove that it's possible to get anywhere in this server. And every time, I'm right. No-one can get anywhere. No-one can do anything. Progression is simply not possible. To a new player, there's an illusion of progression, but once you hit a plateau, you stay there. If you set a goal at any higher point and try to achieve it, you find out that there's no way to get there. Everything is smoke and mirrors.

And until that changes, the entire community is basically running on fumes without realising it until it's too late. I gave up trying to change that. It's not worth it.

It's a catch-22. Whether you lower or raise the standards, everything becomes worse.

So true, like i stoped caring about regs/CL4 (even tho i have mindset of never going CL4 on this server) and started doing same thing as you:
Going on SCU and doing some casual mingery/roleplayer minging (you can minge and follow rules at same times btw).

Me having CL3 and having character that "knows everything but is too stupid to tell it all" (prob everyone has it but does not to want to tell lol), thats enough for me to keep playing this server time to time. I have a job so i don't have enough time to play on this server like every day. Like after i got my ban appeal accepted and i joined nu7 and CI, i thought to myself: "Why should i keep playing this server if this will be just same grinding/loop roleplay shit" so i left NU7 and CI, stayed in discord and hoped on server time to time on SCU, doing somekind of roleplay/HCZ patrol and leave.

So yeah, i feel lot and i say lot better when i started doing this: never felt that the server is second job.

Yeah, the server is not friendly for casual players in that regard, to be honest i dont understand why some regiments have real playtime requirements, as long as the player passed the trial why would you care that he played X amount of hours this week? I could agree higher positions to be limited and with requirements but that shouldn't be the case for like PVT jobs for example

Thats why SCU is mostly always filled up, for most purposes your gameplay experience is very close as playing E11 except for the requirements and BD override.

As emilia said, a new player will see all those jobs and SCPs and will think "wow i cant wait to have enough experience to play as A1" then they get reality checked to the ground when they see they have to treat the game as almost as an 9-5 job and tell "bosses" why he couldnt play last friday or get kicked out...

I guess as long as the server is making money as it is it won't change much, but they should allow some room for casual players to get into other regiments/factions if they pass whatever tryout, isnt trolling and understands the job he is playing

A while ago i read on some thread here that they are having trouble looking for staff members, if they are also asking staff to treat the game as an IRL job no wonder theres problems finding staff, just have low-moderation stuff for volunteers with no other requirement than doing a tryout/test so they understand server rules
