What makes you the best candidate for Ethics Committee Assistant?:
- I would say I am the best candidate for the role because It is something I feel I can excel at, the type of roleplay that I have seen ECA's and Ethics as a whole do is something I feel I would be heavily suited for, beyond that my time in Omega-1 has taught me a lot of things that go on in and around the Ethics committee, from sitting in meetings and escorting committee members it's shown me a view of what is expected of a ECA and what roleplay the committee gets up to! It is something I have heavily enjoyed being apart of it even from a outsiders view of it and it is something I'd love to be apart of doing. I hold myself to a high standard of roleplay and enjoy interacting with others in scenarios be them positive or negative in outcome for me, I am fast at learning and picking up new skills and ideas and am not afraid to ask for assistance should it needed! (Though hopefully not) I enjoy all forms of roleplay that is thrown my way, be it interacting with a chef to the Sr CL4's to the site. I would also say I am highly active on the server being able to put a lot of hours into the role and provide a lot of roleplay because of it!
What are the responsibilities of Ethics Committee Assistants in RP?:
- From what I've seen anyway!
Carrying out orders from ECM's whatever they may be.
Auditing departments.
Assisting with tribunals, and also hosting them.
Approving tests. (Such as a 914 test or a test that may require more than 3 D-Class)
Representing the Ethics Committee, from the way you act around site to how you interact with others you are always representing what the Ethics Committee stands for and how they should be perceived.
Being the first point of call for the committee, and hopefully being able to resolve anything that's needed before it reaches the ECM's though if it is not something you are able to do informing the ECM's of the matter with as much clear information as possible.
Creating roleplay for the server! (One of the most important parts in my view)
Making sure the FLC is followed around site.
Please give some lore about your Ethics Committee Assistant character and what storylines they would be involved in:
Backstory and Early Years
Miyo Izumi was born into the very traditional Izumi family, which has had a presence going back to the samurai period of feudal Japan. The Izumi clan was very strict about honour, duty, and discipline, looking very old-fashioned into virtues like loyalty, respect, and courage. They were very much involved with the Bushido code, a way of life where morality and duty were strictly adhered to regardless of personal desires.
Miyo's life had started with these basic ideas in it. Raised in the clan with her father, the head of the Izumi clan, and her mother, an ancient philosopher, Miyo was imparted with lessons of harmony in body, mind, and spirit from her early days. The teachings and trainings included martial arts, history, modern philosophy, ethics, and the uses and abuses of power-their one aim being to protect and maintain the honour of the family name-at all costs.
While her peers enjoyed normal childhood freedoms, Miyo was constantly under the radar and held in check, trying to meet the endless expectations put upon her. Miyo, the child genius during her school days, she wielded extreme prowess and intelligence in philosophy, logic, and critical thinking. Extremely high intelligence and commitment opened doors for her to be admitted into one of the top universities in Japan to pursue ethics, law, and metaphysics.
Her loyalty toward her family was never an easy choice. Miyo was constantly torn between wanting to define herself and the burden of being held to fulfil the ancient ways of her very blood, dedicatedly and precisely, alongside the ancestors.
The Recruitment by SCP Foundation
Once Miyo had finished her studies, achieving grades that put her in the top 5 percent, she was then approached by a mysterious man, for this individual recognized the student, her brilliance, and her unique family background. The recruiter was an agent under-cover from an organization called the SCP Foundation, which had thought prospects from Miyo's strong sense of duty and internal split between tradition and progress within her. Initially, Miyo was doubtful, but after learning about the Foundation's mission of helping save humanity from unknown dangerous anomalies, she was responsible for making that mission a reality, As for the Environment, it was one of the ideal places for one like her-some pirated duty above all, with its ethical and strict code and sometimes morally grey missions.
Miyo had been assigned to help the Ethics Committee-an assignment that involved applying all of her philosophical, legal, and humanistic knowledge, proving herself valuable to the committee by very quickly becoming involved with complicated ethical exercises, developing guidelines for dealing with anomalous entities, and making difficult decisions that balanced the moral consequences of their actions within the overall protection of humankind.
Personality
Miyo strikes one as cold, calculating, and rather distant. Her upbringing and strict adherence to the Bushido code seem to leave no room for small talk or pleasantries. She is not one to share her personal details or emotions easily but confines herself to work. People tend to find her rather moody especially when placed in a situation where she must make a morally-grey call. Miyo is intensely self-disciplined, and any deviation from her high standards of conduct is met with frustration. Yet, those who really know her know that her stoicism is not due to lack of empathy but rather a sense of honour and duty ingrained within her.
Some possible storylines:
Due to her personality I can see her getting into some arguments with people who try to bend the FLC and lean into the grey areas, I can see my character holding grudges against such people trying to catch them in the act in some questionable situations.
Working closer with ISD to punish those who do break the FLC, trying to get closer ties to ISD leadership to form a well oiled machine between the two departments.
Trying to get better living conditions for some SCP's such at TG-A and TG-B, seeing them also as human though acknowledging the need to contain them, she would still feel they need to be treated ethically and given living conditions to match.
Working with GSD to make sure the D-Class are treated ethically while in the site, making sure they are kept well fed and also such as the TG example their living conditions are kept liveable, doing bunk inspections to make sure they are housed correctly and to a good enough condition.
