What O5 role are you applying for, and why (give the specific O5 number): I am applying for O5-2. After many years, this would technically be the first time I am going for a position higher than O5-3, and I believe that given the recent work, assistance and contributions I have made to the server, I am ready to aim for the role and have the suitable ambition to match it.

What makes you the best candidate for the O5 Council?: Time for the bullet point paragraphs;

  • Experience - My time in the Site has been on and off, that much is true. But I believe that I have consistently demonstrated that my abilities when part of the roleplay loop of Site-65 actively improve, contribute and involve those around me, driving forward a standard of growth that we should all aim for in the server from an OOC perspective. Times have changed to a significant degree, but a core mission of having fun and enjoying the world within SCP is essential. I have done so from numerous positions. A previous tenure within the Council, which whilst unfortunately short, did allow for a very ambitious time of roleplay creation with Research, the beginning of uprooting cultural issues regarding roleplay and server health alongside Broda when he was O5-1, and simply put, the ability to learn how to synergise within Site Command. Site Administration has provided similar skills, and I believe my current tenure working with so many departments in tandem successfully shows I can lead by example.

  • Proactive Roleplay Creation - This has been a weakness of mine historically and I have no shame in admitting it. I take pride in my roleplay abilities and ability to keep things In Character, allowing for enriching and above all else, FUN, interactions with those around me. Though my caveat was my tendency to let it all approach me, instead of seeking it out. Fixing this at first is what successfully got me onto the Council the first time. Then, a year later, my attitude slipped again into passivity when doing my Site Admin interview. With feedback from Broda and Pennington, I have striven to make my current tenure fix that - working with DEA on both combative and non-combative projects to do with their war against the GOC previously, allowing for the use of paratech in roleplay and how to create it. I have also made sure to actually make time and energy for those departments I have scrutinised - I take pride in how much focus I gave to E-11 when it needed upheaval, working on and off the Site to foster growth, and remind them of how to enjoy their time on the Site, using minor to major roleplay enhancements alongside their CO team as required. The GOC can also no doubt attest to my willingness to work with them for diplomatic roleplay as needed, and I take pride in how I have been the face of negotiations in the past and present, as well as setting up subtle roleplay within the GOC CO team to do with relations and who they trust.

  • Approachability - I think a cornerstone of my approach is that I will make time for anyone. I do take pride in the fact that I was randomly checked a few times by Alpha-1 in the recent past for how I was interacting with their staff, when they were disguised as "new players" who needed a bit of guidance. I'm sure they can vouch that I took the time to speak to them, show examples of what they were stuck with where appropriate, or otherwise made the time for them where possible. At the end of the day, I can appreciate that we are on a server, playing characters. This should never become people on computers doing paperwork to each other, even in harsh situations. There should be actual connection and explanation to improvement, because we in Site Command can't be here forever. That much will always be true - someone else has to take the reins eventually, thus I want people to be able to learn from me.

What are the responsibilities of the O5 Council in RP?:

  • Utmost authority over the Foundation - Containment methods, relations, structure of departments, overarching policy to influence the Site. Anything that fundamentally changes or comprises the Foundation is likely to go through their doors. They must be able to lead by example, dealing with external threats to their mission to Humanity whilst also innovating the Foundation from within, as well as breaking the limits placed upon them where necessary in the pursuit of progress. This natural desire to innovate is what generates their natural roleplay with the Ethics Committee as well, a natural duty they must have to ensure interaction.

  • Oversight of the Overseer Assistants and their utilisation - Assistants are necessary for the success of members of the Council. Dutiful eyes and ears that can roam around the Site in a typically more concealed/safe fashion, they can carry out orders or find ways to provide intelligence or whisperings of scenarios on the Site that require the stringent attention of the Council. They are an absolute necessity, and working closely with them to foster a fun and engaging roleplay environment is a basic expectation, and one that will also help create engaging storylines in RP.

  • The same as above, but for Alpha-1 - Of course, where would the Council be without Alpha-1? Their dutiful right hand, and task force willing to carry out any order in the name of the Foundation and those that command it. Alpha-1 are a very controversial force in some eyes, and it is the duty of the Council to ensure the power they exert and roleplay they conduct is enjoyable not just for themselves, but those around them. The Council must be able to order them successfully, allowing for a smooth integration into the Site roleplay.

  • Management of Site Administration - A duty that you could technically say they share with the Committee. In-Character, Administration is supposed to be empowered by the existence of Command. They are the ones who issue policy and the final say on a lot of menial matters, but knowing that Command exists in the background as a silent but assenting voice when they are challenged or need a bit of support is vital. Site Administration, speaking from experience, would be overwhelmed without a good Command team, and so it is our duty In-Character (and Out-Of-Character) to look after them

  • Miscellaneous duties - There are other duties, but truth be told, they are very easy to sum up in point. These are duties that require Command, but you can see them as "last resorts" - situations like calling a Code Black, where Command have deemed that roleplay and Site stability are too hindered by ongoing Code 5's to continue. This can then snowball into Alpha Warhead detonation if required, a major decision that does require the maturity and ability to recognise the active and ongoing status of roleplay from an In-Character POV.

What are the responsibilities of the O5 Council out of RP (e.g. what applications do they handle?):

  • Applications - A fair few applications or positions have the final say of the Council, given their importance to the Server. These include the Commander of Alpha-1, Overseer Assistants, Director of Research and Site Director.

  • Policy upholding - Something I'm familiar with from previous time in O5/SA, as well as CURRENT time - O5 and their policy do require major auditing, upheaval and innovation as needed. The Site and the culture within it is designed to evolve, and they must be the bastion that ensures it does so in a healthy direction to maintain server-wide standards. I have worked recently in Site Administration with Broda to re-do the ZJP, I have made numerous smaller policies with the most recent example being the HCZ Blast Door policy and ET&S disbanding for Site Structure improvements, and overall understand the importance of this aspect of the role.

  • Support of Site Administration - Whereas In-Character I'd call it Management, OOC I call it Support. Site Command have proven useful and helpful to myself and other members of SA in extremely trying times as of late when certain issues have been ongoing, probably keeping us sane through legitimate stress as problems were not being solved. That support in turn keeps SA healthy and able to take part in the server in a fun and motivated way, thus it is essential for them to uphold this support.

  • Working with all faction leaders - Given their duty as CL5, players at this caliber must work with those around them to decide on ways that they can collaborate to create roleplay In-Character. The factions and server health are not a selfish effort and it must be recognised where possible how O5 can be proactive in their support of those around them in other factions, not just their own.

  • Setting a positive example to the server - As roleplay leaders, their duty above all else is to provide a welcoming environment. Even if they are "scary" as members of the super secretive Council, they earned that spot through hard work and an understanding of what it's like to actually have the drive to climb the ranks. For someone else to want to do the same, current members of Command MUST have the diligence to work with newer players and give them a positive environment to be part of.

Please give some lore about your O5 character and what storylines they would be involved in:
It is a pleasure to say that for what is HOPEFULLY the final time, I present to you all the complete and comprised lore of The Blackbird. Please enjoy.

It seriously hurts my soul to put this in your app, but when we were O5 together, from what I seen of you most of your RP was centered completely around yourself this isn't a bad thing as most people including myself make them the center of their RP, the issue arises when the roleplay you create begins to revolve entirely around yourself which I began to see before you left O5. I am more than happy to change this to a +Support should you provide examples or plans of how you intend to involve other players in your RP, most importantly A-1.

This one hit the literal moment before I was gonna turn in for the night lmao, perfect timing!

I'll say it openly, because I feel I need to elaborate on my lore for this to make sense, and I don't want to subject people to reading 62 pages to agree with me - the entire point of this current iteration of my character is to PK him for good. Working with GMs like Benton and Mann has been a pleasure, but the self-importance and maintenance nightmare of generating fluid roleplay around a 6.5 year long concept is too much. For starters to involve A-1, as SA I'm already running a storyline that involves myself, Skinner and effectively CI, GOC when the time comes and all of our combatives to raid an off-site location. I fully intend for the PK to hit by then, which should be less than 2 weeks in and preceded by very intensive and engaging roleplay of the character reaching a denouement. Simply by having a chance to make an entirely new character, I will have the chance to explore many more new lore themes and orient the character around what I think fits the server well now, instead of trying to messily integrate my concepts to the server? I think that makes sense.

In regards to my attitude as a player to help influence this, others such as Broda, Athena, Pennington and Kake can hopefully attest to my recent work with E-11 over the past few months of its state when it was struggling. I motivated their CO team at a particular low point just before SSL intervention, created and trialled a new departmental monitoring system just for them to get them on their feet that was then integrated into the revamped SA departmental review system and ensured to get GMs and other staff to work with them as much as possible.

My recent RP involving the GOC and their conflict has involved all factions to a degree, and I've thrown myself into a lot of RP for combatives in regards to pre-planned hostage training, the securing of internal objectives for SA to analyse, awarding specific medals to DEA members for excellent performance and passing a lot of policies that have condensed and simplified Site Structure to ensure it is accessible to others. I think these things should hopefully show that I have changed a lot in regards to the way I seek these things out now, instead of isolation/lack of proactivity since back then.
