What O5 role are you applying for, and why (give the specific O5 number):
- I am applying for O5-6 due to my eagerness to expand the roleplay on site by operating at such a high level. With this ability, I shall be able to do what I have done with the Department of Research and vastly improve policy and how things are run on a day to day basis. The O5 lore fascinates me as this shadowy hand behind the locked door which controls the Foundation on every level, albeit Ethics getting in the way of progress. Whilst leading the Department of Research with my colleague Dr Hamster, I have thoroughly enjoyed the experience and have no regrets in climbing into such position and the executives we have selected are great for the roles we need them to fulfil. Becoming an Overseer would allow me to branch out and oversee other departments operations, to which my prior experience as aforementioned would aid me in doing so effectively. I do enjoy socialising with others when on site, many do come to the Director of Research office to just talk or ask for help, from any department. Whilst I do understand the Overseer position is that of secrecy, the tools at their disposal allow them to blend in with the day to day operations on Site 65 and my approachable persona would enable department leaders to approach me if they need assistance. However, knowing full well how O5 operate, I do have a stern and firm hand when dealing with miscreants, my attitude to those who misbehave usually comes from a viewpoint of rehabilitation, however I have proof of when the hammer needs to come down on those who deserve it (UK Research Ban Logs). Finally, being an Overseer would also let my creative writing expand further into my characters biography log and write up any policy fellow Overseers agree on.
What makes you the best candidate for the O5 Council?:
- During my tenure as Executive Researcher, I have polished up my skills to engage with people effectively and appropriately. Due to my maturity, this has been a very simple path of growth on site. Doing lectures to teach and guide those who are confused or lost on site has given me additional experience in managing large groups of people in a RP Scenario. Upon being promoted to Director of Research, my first day was an Ethics review which during the lowered standards for Senior was a logistical nightmare. We immediately set out to rectify shortfalls and staff behaviour and ended up with a "In-Good Standing" rating, to my surprise. Working as a team and using my leadership skills, myself and Dr Hamster have revolutionised the Department of Research via policy and documentation signposting so people no longer have mass confusion and hearsay on how to conduct themselves on site. During the division development stage, I created Sigma-1 which displays the level of detail and creativity I can wield to add into my skillset. Understanding the role of Overseer isn't just a one man job, its multiple people so being a team player, which I have expressed experience in, stands me out from other candidates. My passion for writing and developing stories allows me to drive story narrative on site and encompass multiple groups of people for high quality and fun RP situations. To conclude, my lengthy experience in roleplay scenarios and various servers over a decade has given me the tools and ability to fulfil the role of Overseer.
What are the responsibilities of the O5 Council in RP?:
- An Overseer is responsible for observing the day to day operations on site and also monitoring research that takes place. Engaging in significant event co-ordination is also a responsibility as these scenarios impact the site entirely. They also must manage departmental leads, Site Administration and occasionally, clash heads with the Ethics Committee due to ideological differences. If required, overseeing tribunals in disguise may be a responsibility depending on the circumstances. If needed, initiate a code black and wipe the site off the face of the planet.
What are the responsibilities of the O5 Council out of RP (e.g. what applications do they handle?):
- Being an O5 OOC means you have a responsibility to act politely and professionally to people you interact with. Zero tolerance for rule breaking. Aside from that area, the following Senior Positions are managed by the O5 Council:
Director of Research/Director of Intelligence/Chief of Security/Overseer Assistant/Site Administration
Director of Internal Affairs is jointly decided with Ethics. And not to forget, O5 Applications.
Any voting that is required is an immediate responsibility to be dealt with to avoid delay.
