Have you received any kicks/bans/warning ?
Yes.
I received a one-week ban about a month ago for severe toxicity. Mainly caused by a joke in very bad taste on my part in a voice channel of the Discord server. A mistake that I take full responsibility for and completely regret. Apart from this incident, I have no other warnings.
Why are you applying for Director of Research ?
Despite my recent incident, and my equally recent return, I am submitting my application for multiple reasons. The first, which is still fundamental to my profile, is my love for research and the Scientific Department, SCP in general, but also for that of Civil Networks. With the equally recent info-reset, resignations, and other tensions, it is clear that the department is in bad shape. Lacking Executive Researchers, the sub-divisions need to be put back into activity, new players are flooding in, and I think it is fundamental to do everything in our power to help it get back on its feet and use all the assets at its disposal. I therefore want to give my experience, my ideas, and my knowledge to this fundamental branch of the RP, help its players, its managers, and in return, the community.
What makes you suitable for Director of Research ?
Experience
Experience
As in my former application, I would have established experience as the first quality to put forward for this position. I have gained seniority as an executive researcher, and I still have my past experiences in other communities managing scientific departments as vice-director for several months. Yet, experience does not immunize against mistakes, and I think that despite everything, it is from them that we consolidate what we have learned. As before, I would once again bring forward the progress made by the ANOREP and LORE sub-divisions when I was at their head. ANOREP had already proven itself with its advanced methodology, at least in my eyes, but the issue of communication with the Ethics Committee and the Site Administration made the work of this entity more complicated than expected, and has made it relatively obsolete today, something I would like to see change. At the time of my previous application, the LORE division had not proven itself, but I subsequently had the opportunity to lead several large-scale rituals that resulted in many RP follow-ups for the participating players.
Roleplay
Here, again, even if I am no longer a Gamemaster, I have maintained and still maintain my dedication to Roleplay, as well as the SCP lore that I keep a grand affection of for over ten years now. My approach remains quite the same, I try to keep an In-Character mind for most scenarios. Although my time as a Gamemaster was relatively limited, I successfully fulfilled an (incomplete) part of my previous promises, despite my rejection. Projects from this synergy that could not be completed remain on my list and will find themselves in one form or another at the service of the department. Whether it is encouraging players to explore elements of the SCP Foundation lore, administrative overhaul projects to better represent this same lore and increase immersion, or making it more effective and enjoyable to play both as a player and as a character, the possibilities are almost endless. Moreover, I still haven't lost sight of my project to improve and sustainably consolidate our ties with the American Site-65, a possibility that is becoming more and more concrete.
Perspective
Finally, to stick to the format, perspective. I will not repeat myself too much, but I hope these words will explain my point of view. I previously presented myself with a great deal of experience, spanning ten years, and thus, with an ability to identify good ideas from bad ones. Good choices and bad choices. Potentially destructive reforms, and potentially advantageous reforms, for the players, for the creators of these choices, or for a server. However, I also try to apply this perspective to my own choices now, to remain open to criticism, to suggestions, and to the eternal possibility of being wrong. So that the entire department can work with a common voice.
What are the responsibilities of the Director of Research in RP ?
Knowing that my vision of a director’s responsibilities has changed very little, if at all, I am providing here the essence of what I stated during my previous application. For me, the responsibilities of a Director of Research take multiple forms.
Research Policy
The first is setting a true direction for research (in alignment with Site Administration's goals). This means establishing clear objectives, highlighting specific projects, and making research, experiments, projects and lectures feel integral to the facility.
External Management
Another crucial responsibility is acting as the bridge for the department, maintaining active and diplomatic contact with the other Departments. This includes listening to Site Administration's suggestions, adapting to various new Site policies, and, if necessary, conveying the department's feedback regarding these decisions or any other aspect of the site. This also means making sure that the different missions given by the O5, EC, and SA are translated into clear frameworks so as to avoid the bottlenecks and misunderstandings that occurred previously with ANOREP, for example.
Internal Management
Another aspect of it is managing the department internally, particularly the CL4 position. Maintaining player activity, engagement, and fulfillment is a core duty. This also involves constantly re-evaluating our own systems to optimize and improve the overall gameplay loop and RP quality of the department. This would also involve how Junior researchers are introduced to the department, the CL3 to CL4 upgrade being a change that has been worked on since the last time I applied. Making sure that our CL4 players are involved in satisfying missions is also important, as middle management in RSD is a core principle, as we see it right now with the actual capacity of our team. Without active Executives, the department would lose a lot. This also implies identifying and supporting potential assets within the department to later lead sub-divisions, or paving the way for their growth as executives, while also having the ability to question the sub-divisions' workings, missions, and utility to ensure they do not become obsolete.
OOC Environment
Since it has been quite an issue recently, it is also the Director of Research's responsibility to make sure the division is, and stays, a healthy environment. This means to support the new players, helping and communicating with the executive board when possible, and ensuring criticism remains constructive, while still keeping a watch for signs of poor morale.
I would add to all this, having witnessed Thistle's work, that the job of director is ultimately that of a coordinator, especially in this period of major reform following the info-reset. A responsibility that is particularly important and requires all necessary help.

Please give some lore about your Director of Research character and what storylines they would be involved in
