Why are you applying for Security Captain?
During my time as an ECA and ISD Investigator, I have noticed that I interact with GSD a lot. In my mind, it would be because most of the FLC violations and complaints would pop up there, but I started to realise that the crowd was just fun to hang around with. I decided to actually try it out myself, hopping on the Response Unit job and started to enjoy my time as GSD, quickly ranking up to Sergeant within 1-2 days. I feel like, within my time as Sergeant, I have been able to somewhat prove myself, hence why I feel like now it’s the right time to apply for Captain.

What makes you suitable for Security Captain?:
  • I have quite extensive knowledge of how GSD is meant to function, with them being more than just D-Block guardians, and I feel like I would be able to help push that forward. Compared to other Departments, GSD surprisingly has a lot of variety in what they can do, as long as there are enough people to allocate across the areas. And I think, as a Captain, I could help lead GSD in creating and improving some more minor roleplay around the site.
  • I believe I have the necessary Leadership experience, as I am able to resolve issues, deal with reports and resolve conflicts. As a Sergeant, I already tend to investigate internal conflicts and issues ISD has with GSD members, listening to both sides and trying to help determine a fair punishment, if applicable.
  • I understand when the time is right to mess around with others and when it's time to act more seriously. In the end, we are all playing a game, and having fun is what we’re meant to have. It is important to know when lines are being crossed and when individuals need to be stopped and spoken to about their conduct.
  • I can create documents even if not necessary for suggestions, any acts that could be put in place, etc. I know it’s not necessary for the role, but it can be useful when assisting the Chiefs of Security.
  • I’m able to think outside the box; if I find issues, I tend to try my best to look for solutions. I will mention that not all the ideas I bring will be the greatest of all time, but I can contribute to conversations about GSD's health and other topics and bring my own insight to the situation.

What are the responsibilities of the Security Captain in RP?:
  • As Jr. Clearance Level 4 personnel, Captains can initiate FSL, Teslas, Open or Close Blast-Doors.
  • Creating engaging RP for members of GSD, this is usually a bit tough, depending on the amount of GSD available, but creating patrols, checkpoints and doing trainings (including license try-outs) for them to engage with each other and potentially other people on site.
  • Ensuring GSD assists with active codes by allocating people to assist with breached SCPs or heading to fight CI. Containment Units and Response Units have priority on this, but any rank can head out to fight if we have enough people in D-Block to guard it.
  • Organising sweeps, whether it is leading one themselves or simply watching over a member of GSD who volunteered to lead one themselves. Only step in if it is necessary and major issues are showing up. Even if the sweep fails, in the end, failing is part of roleplay, so it shouldn’t be too hard on the person.
  • Handling any complaints and either resolving them if possible or simply informing the Chief of Security about the situation if they need to handle it. (Like a Captain complaint)
  • Creating engaging orders for GSD and pushing for people to log them, currently we have multiple orders which seem abandoned with it being slightly unclear if they are still active or actually over.
  • Ensure D-Block is being managed properly, with individuals following procedures, engaging with Researchers and being ready to extract D-Class when asked. Since GSD's main priority is D-Block, there should be at least 5 GSD members in D-Block before pursuing any secondary objectives. In a case where GSD is participating in a planned cross-training, a good substitute should be found by asking another combative department to take over until the training is over.
  • Contributing to scouting for new GSD Sergeants and conducting an interview once approved by the Chief of Security.
  • Watching over Sergeants and ensuring they are behaving, but also allocating tasks to them to show their ability to lead. Example, getting them to lead a patrol, a checkpoint, etc.
Please give some lore about your Security Captain character and what storylines they would be involved in:
(Sorry for the short lore, not a big fan of these)
  • Served in the British Army, spending eight years in an infantry and reconnaissance role. During this time, he developed his leadership, discipline and decision-making skills.
  • The loss of comrades who served alongside has developed a very low tolerance for negligence, resulting in occasional anger issues.
  • Draeg has managed to learn how to control his emotions through discipline, but is still able to show anger in high-risk situations.
  • Following his military service, he was picked up by the foundation. Going through many tests, evaluating his physical capabilities and mental state. Due to his ability to adapt and display excellent combat prowess, he joined the ranks of the General Security Department as a Cadet.
  • He steadily rose through the ranks, with consistent performance and proven leadership, quickly reaching the rank of Sergeant and ultimately becoming a Captain not so long after.
  • While personnel across the site recognise his occasional outbursts towards incompetence, he is still recognised as a dependable leader who places the site's security above all else.
Regarding what I plan to do with this character;

Firstly, with him having anger issues, if there is a potential for a loss of life, I feel like I could easily get in trouble and be investigated by CoS, SA, EC or O5, depending on what actions I take. It shouldn’t be anything major, but I could switch up on the wrong person and get dragged away.

Secondly, I plan to push GSD as far as I can, seeking the respect it deserves for what the role is capable of. With it being a very flexible role with many possibilities.
