What can you bring to the Global Occult Coalition:
- I believe I can bring tactical, operational, and overall combat skills. I've done multiple raids/dc raids as CI where I have gotten over 15+ kills. I'd like to think of myself as friendly and familiar with most of the player base and therefore I am able to bring diplomatic skills to the GOC. I love the GOC and have always actually been hoping for it to be added to the server, this, therefore, gives me a more in-depth ability to roleplay as the GOC.
Why was the Global Occult Coalition founded?:
After the end of The Seventh Occult War alongside WWII, the newly founded United Nations sought to expand and "found" the current-day UNGOC in coalition with the surviving occultist organizations. The outcome of the Seventh Occult War was in the AOI's favor though the fact that the war began and the Obskuracorps managed to get very close to obtaining their power was unacceptable by the winning allies who thereafter founded the GOC with the main purpose of protecting humanity from any paranormal threats (parathreats).
Why do you want to join the Global Occult Coalition?:
As foretold already, I have, since the first GOC event, always had a feeling that it would come to fruition and it further increased my excitement. With the introduction of the new mission system and other factors giving the server more surface RP I believe the GOC would be insanely fun to play. I also love every single model the GOC has and believe it would simply look absolutely sick being in any of them. The RP, the combat on the surface, and overall anything the GOC is going to do, in my opinion, would be insanely fun. I am active on the server daily, for most of the day, and can keep a further GOC presence on the server. Even though I am an ECM I believe that I can dedicate enough time to be undoubtedly one of the most active members.
What do the PHYSICS, PSYCHE, and PTOLEMY Divisions specialize in, and give an example of some functions they do:
PHYSICS - Similar to the UN Peacekeeping Forces. They are tasked with the UNGOC's and are the men on the front lines. They are specifically tasked with observing, investigating, and destroying parathreats directed by High Command.
PSYCHE - The diplomatic arm of the GOC, PSYCHE is tasked with being the ambassadors to the UNGOC by maintaining peace with the human race and occult powers when the destruction of parathreats is not possible. They set up meetings and set out on diplomatic missions with occultist organizations and other groups within the SCP-Universe.
PTOLEMY - In simple terms, PTOLEMY is the research division of the UNGOC. They develop, educate, and usually tasks PHYSICS on the ways to destroy and terminate parathreats. They provide the UNGOC with the technologies, weapons, and armor that PHYSICS uses daily.
What Are the Global Occult Coalition's goals?:
The GOC serves the United Nations directly and impartially. They share the Foundation's view of protecting mankind from the thousands of anomalies (Nicknamed parathreats), though instead of containing them, they aim to destroy or kill all anomalies they encounter when possible, even if they are completely harmless. These goals and "missions" are nicknamed The Fivefold Mission:
1) Survival: Protect the human race against all parathreats.
2) Concealment: Keep the knowledge of said parathreats from the public eye (similar to the Foundation) in order to not cause mass panic.
3) Protect: Human protection comes first, be it normal civilians or operatives, as long as it does not interfere with 1, and 2.
4) Destruction: No risk of containing and survival of prarathreats should be taken. The existence of said parathreats no matter what it is is a risk to the survival of the human race.
5) Education: Expansion of the knowledge and study said parathreats should be done, as long as it does not go against the previous 4 statements.
Please explain The Seventh Occult War:
During the background of WW2, the Obskuracorps (A Nazi Division) attempted to gather the seven artifacts to execute the ritual known as The Rite of Solomon. Said ritual is a set of powerful workings when executed it is capable of instigating a GR-Class Hostile Demiurge event. The extent of the 'Demiurge's' capabilities is unverified, recovered documents from the databases of AOI indicate that it gives the ability to fundamentally alter the basic laws that govern how thaumaturgy can be used. The Anherbe (German High Command), attempted to use the ritual in order to remove thaumaturgic capabilities from all of non-German originating peoples. The Obskuracorps were caught during their gathering of the "Solomon's Keys" by the Foundation and an early concept of the UNGOC (Allied Occult Initiative). The Ahnenerbe was later routed, and the ritual disrupted therefore ending the war. All seven artifacts are indicated to be within the possession of the UNGOC. The ritual was later designated as SCP-3457, no TE designation record is found within AOI's databases.
What makes the Global Occult Coalition different in in-comparison to the other groups within the SCP-universe in your view?:
I personally believe that the way the UNGOC goes about and its main goals are much more interesting in a way than the Foundation or Chaos insurgency. Although some "parathreats" can be useful to humanity, it is quite literally better safe than sorry. The aim is to defend the human race above all else, while other groups in the SCP-Universe aim to either contain or co-exist with said anomalies. This, therefore, sets them apart as ones who put humanity above all else. The UNGOC would not risk keeping anomalies in containment. The UNGOC arguably takes more care when dealing with collateral damage (ie Civilians), during their operations compared to the Foundation and other groups. The GOC and the Foundation also differ in how it is run, and their "democratic ways". The Foundation is fully run by a small collection of people, while the GOC is run by a council of 108 representatives of all the main occultist organizations. They are also directly accountable to the United Nations, which creates a more accountable factor while the Foundation is fully autonomous.
