Why are you applying for Special Agent?
I've been hoping to get some experience in a CL4 position for a while after playing a ton of GOC since March. From what I've gathered and my preferences, DEA is definitely my favourite department to play, with a wide array of duties to prevent your gameplay loop from being the same thing over and over. All the people I've spoken to are polite, respectful and professional, and the leadership team is competent and active. A leadership position in a well-maintained department like DEA is the perfect match to jumpstart my career as a CL4 member of personnel. Taking into account the countless possibilities to both start and take part in roleplay scenarios as DEA Leadership, since the department's duties cover such a massive area of the server (surface RP, infosec, PVP, investigations, espionage, etc), I doubt I'll ever be left without something to do.
-
What makes you suitable for Special Agent?:

First off, I'd say I'm one of the more reliable and professional members of DEA, particularly in the lower echelons. I always try to take part in the different roleplay situations that come my way while also maintaining a standard of discipline. When possible, I try to correct and encourage other DEA members if I see something's wrong, such as not being familiar with our regulations. This way, I can prevent these people from making silly mistakes and improve the general reputation of the department. Another quality I think would make me perfect for leadership in the department is my competency. While this isn't a particularly rare attribute, being able to confidently carry out one's duties is paramount for a long and outstanding performance. Finally, I'd argue I'm a fairly approachable and social person. I've got a good relationship with most of the people I've interacted with on the server and always try to be kind and polite where appropriate. Particularly with newer players, being empathetic and understanding goes a long way in fostering interest in the department and server as a whole.
-
How many documents have you written? What makes a document good?:

So far, I've written a a few incident reports and interrogation logs specifically for DEA. However, in the past, I've played a lot of research and submitted several detailed test reports. Furthermore, on my other characters- such as my GOC, I've made many high-quality documents to support roleplay. A good document needs formatting, first of all. Without formatting, you'd be better off just submitting a screenshot of a notepad over a document. Adding some character in the form of redactions, images (department logos, for example) and signatures helps to increase the believability of your documentation.
-
What are the responsibilities of the Special Agent in RP?:

A Special Agent's duties first and foremost consists of leading the newer members of the department. This can take many forms, such as hosting inductions for recruits, trainings to brush up on people's skills or simply being there to advise and give orders to Agents and Operatives. Second, they assist Department Managers and the Directors with their own duties, being present to offer assistance wherever possible. Finally, they are the first point of contact for GOIs to make deals with the Foundation, such as the GOC trying to enter for testing approval. Of course, they also have all the previous duties of a DEA member, such as surface control, infosecurity, investigations and general relations/negotiations.

Please give some lore about your Special Agent character and what storylines they would be involved in:

Rick Callahan's Personnel File

I'm hoping to get my character involved in various conflict storylines, both internally and externally. Personally, I love events where you're required to pick a side, whether it's morally dubious or not, simply for the fact that conflict drives roleplay. Furthermore, I'm particularly interested in roleplay with ISD and the Ethics Committee as a current member of the Internal Operations Office inside the department.
