Why are you applying for Director of Internal Security?: Throughout my time on the server, I have held a wide variety of roles and can, without a doubt, say my most enjoyable time so far has been within ISD. I am highly experienced and skilled in creating Roleplay to engage as many people as possible in as I would hope a large portion of the community could vouch for, whether that be scenarios on a shorter scale up to large scale storyline events. I have the initiative to improvise and create portions of Roleplay that have the potential to transpire into larger events such as tribunals, hearings and other not so ISD specific events. In addition to this I communicate well with others to ensure that our goals align and that we are both working towards the same target, which will come especially in handy if my request for this role is accepted and I will be working with Hersh as the other ISD Director. I would also like to add that my Roleplay has extended across departments, regiments and factions however more recently, for instance, one of my RP opportunities on the UNGOC seem to have died out and my goal is to not allow any of it to reach this state and keep it as active and engaging as possible.

Another reason I am applying is because the other candidates have proven unsuccessful in their request for the role, I did not apply initially as I was against requesting promotions whilst having an active strike for the current role I am in and that I wanted to let others have the opportunity at holding the role of a department lead. My plan from here is that as Director I could take them under my wing and show them the ropes in hope of elevating them to a position where they would have shown ample reasoning for why they would be fit to hold the role after a slot frees up.

My initial plan for when I had joined ISD was to just help about where I could and act as a mentor as such, giving my opinion on routes to take in certain RP scenarios and even just general actions. However, I began playing ISD a lot more when I had realised that there were larger problems in the department, from abusing the arrest system at pleasure, not using alternatives such as citations and more; I had decided that I wished to do my best at eliminating this stigma and endorsing fair RP consequences for actions.

To get onto the more leadership based reasons, the department has been presented to myself as rather disorganised recently, with people of all clearances not being on the same page and enforcing different punishments for the same violations, I believe that ISD need strong leadership starting at the top to enforce a general step premise for all Agents to follow, the absence of this leads to a lack of authority within the entire department. This is more often seen in scenarios including high clearance personnel and even members of AO (more recently referred to as IE & IPD, stretching to even general duties on site. I would also like senior members of ISD to cement themselves as the strong willed and stern that would be expected of such a character in an environment like the site we are on so that opportunities of some long lasting and quality role play scenarios are not passed upon.

And finally to conclude this I would just like to reinforce that my overarching objective is to empathise the importance and need of more the specific opportunities provided to ISD such as: Arrest warrants, Tribunals and investigations; specifically their importance for our gameplay loop.

What makes you suitable for Director of Internal Security?: As reflected in my forum signature, I have held surfeit roles on the server in senior positions, most recently Site Director, which have given me the ability to use my creativity to its full extent. I worked very closely with ISD in all of these roles to the point where I am completely proficient in all of its duties and have full understanding of its purpose on the server. Moreover my ability to improvise has definitely aided my tenures in these roles as they are critical to server health and the development of long term storyline roleplay.

Whether playing as: the empowering Site Director Lucas Doyle, the cunning Mike Doyle / The Inspector or now the facade of Rober Slater, I have proven trustworthy to create compelling roleplay that is fun and engaging for all those who partake leaving them with an memorable experience.

I also led multiple hearings, tribunals and investigations in these tenures, whilst also creating templates for all to use (most recent being the open carry permit) which are vital to cement roleplay with a long effect.

To conclude, I believe it is my insight for the role that equips me with the abilities required to lead this department thoroughly.

My plans when becoming Director:

I would firstly begin by empowering the department as much as possible, not through some rubbish acts that have no substance at all and just reiterate the actual duties of the department, but by leading by example, with a nobody is above the law attitude. By showing such a professional attitude and demeanour, it will set the precedent for all subordinates to follow as they all represent the Director’s of the department. Specifically beginning with leadership discussion, I will empathise to the Commissioners that there is a standard attitude to be upheld within the department, as they represent the wishes of the Directors in their absence, that is to be all punishment must be fair and relative to the crime. As this has been a very touchy subject as of late, it will secure the notion that we are fair and possess the ability to adapt to circumstance. This is what I believe to be most vital to the department's success currently.

To reinforce the gameplay loop, ISD is a core asset to this as it grants the notion that there are consequences for actions. Now this will most commonly be the RSD, GSD & D Class loop as it is no question the most important on the server, meaning that the room for error can be accounted by ISD leading to, potentially, some of the best RP people can be included in which consists of interrogations, citations and even tribunal in more serious instances.

Similarly, as highlighted a while back now, I would also like to eliminate any notion that bodycam is required under any circumstance, frankly I think it is better that there is no bodycam as that leaves room for ISD operations & investigations. This leads to individuals interacting with those that they may usually have little to no contact with in game therefore spreading RP across the server and introducing new people to each other.

Now most importantly as this touches an OOC angle, I want to endorse character building in game and not judging people OOCly for their actions in game. For example having a disliking to someone who is just performing their duties, seen most prominently with the RSD department as of late, and being able to justify your own actions via the roleplay you undergo. I have worked on this already myself by establishing a rapport with seniors on the site, whether this being general availability for discussion to handling reports on subordinates myself in their presence, trying to regain the trust of several who may have lost it in a recent period.

Because at the end of the day, it is a game for us all to enjoy.

What are the responsibilities of the Director of Internal Security in RP?: The Director of Internal Security has full control over their department, expected to create and maintain long term progress within their department, whilst of course delegating to their subordinates when relevant. They report directly to the Ethics Committee and essentially have full legal control of the site, aside from FCOM of course. They should also maintain a fair level of contact with other department leads / senior officials to ensure that there is fluency running on the site at all times. Tasked with providing status reports, acting as an advisor etc to the Ethics Committee, they also hold the final say on their own leadership team, which is included of Inspectors and Commissioners appointment / removals.

Please give some lore about your Director of Internal Security character and what storylines they would be involved in:

Personal File - Robert Slater

The lore is purposefully vague as I am running a long term storyline, stay tuned for more information.

Honestly in my opinion you're probably the strongest current candidate for DoISD, both in terms of active status and past positions. The app is solid and shows an understanding of the role as well as some interesting plans for if you are to get Director. Pretty active too.

However, I can't help but notice you lied a little... "height: 6ft 3in".. We both know you're 5ft.

You are definitely the best case scenario for ISD as of right now. I also like your stance on body cams and wanting to push for proper investigation as that should be the most engaging part of ISD. I am also happy to see that you are trying to ingratiate yourself with RSD. Knowing how you were as Site Director I think you can do really good things with this role and change the site in a positive way.
Wish you the best of luck.
