What does this suggestion change/add/remove:
Upgrading the server to the same specs as the US server would greatly improve the lag situation on uk (sits on 5tps for 8 hours during peak)
Has something similar been suggested before? If so, why is your suggestion different?:
I'm not sure , i haven't searched through all the suggestions but it probably has
Possible Positives of the suggestion (At least 2):
1. It would help greatly with the lag , the situation on uk makes combat almost impossible because the tps is that low , i have heard of many people just hopping off because the lag is that bad
2.It might actually improve the amount of donations the server gets , personally i would splash out on the server if it was actually playable but it isn't really worth doing if i can't play because of the lag
Possible Negatives of the suggestion:
1. Cost , I know server hosting is expensive but for a server that pulls max pop for up to 4 hours a day it is definitely worth it , the server would still be profitable , even with the costlier hosting
2. Transition/Availability , I know from experience that transitioning from one host to another can be hard and may even result in data loss in some cases although i think most players would still agree that it is worth it to fix the lag , there is also the issue of availability , a server may not be available with such specifications that is also located in the UK , although im pretty sure there is
Based on the Positives & Negatives, why should this suggestion be accepted:
Overall , the laggy mess that is the UK server needs to be fixed , this issue far outweighs the cost implications , ive always viewed CN as a community that cares about its players , but some of those players might be driven away by the lag.
