Steam ID: STEAM_0:1:554714117.
Discord name: west.supermarket.
For how long have you played on CG SCP: One week, in-game. For about six months spread out.
Age: 17.
In what country are you located?: South Africa.
Time zone: GMT+2 (SAST).
Character name(s): Sophia ‘Teddy’ Linkletter.
Civilian name: ‘Teddy’ Vullisdrom.
What server are you applying for? (SCP-RP UK or SCP-RP USA): SCP-RP UK.
Do you have a mic?: Yes.
List all whitelisted, MTF, or CI roles that you hold or have held: N/A.
Have you received any kicks/bans/warnings? and why?: RDM (x4), FailRP (x2), 12 Hour Ban (Too many warnings), none of which are active.
Why are you applying for Medical Consultant?:
I have always been set on a leadership position within the medical department. It is a great place to be in - approachable staff, consistent roleplay, active. I want to contribute to the running of that well-oiled machine. I would like to help the newer members of the department to get acquainted with it, as well. I have been told I am a good leader and I would like to help with leading the department in some sense.
What makes you suitable for Medical Consultant?:
While I have no formal medical qualifications other than First Aid, I possess a lot of medical knowledge gained from my own personal research into symptoms, procedures and diseases that I have done in my free time. I am always willing to answer questions given to me by trainees and Doctors to the best of my ability. I enjoy helping people on the server and I would like to do it in a more senior authority. In addition to this, I would like to bring D-Class personnel into role play more by hosting therapy sessions as well as authorizing work as receptionists within Medbay.
Please explain an in-game medical procedure of your choice:
I will explain an open reduction and internal fixation (ORIF) surgery, which I did on Department Director Kayla, supervised by Combat Medic Scott ‘Prism’ Grey.
The first step is to determine the course of action for a broken appendage. Of course, not all broken bones can be mended with calcium and casts, this is when an ORIF surgery is required.
In this case, it was plates that were used to repair the Department Director’s smashed leg.
Secondly, I escorted the Director to the operation room, allowed her to get comfortable and provided local anesthetic. To test if she was asleep, I conducted a stimulation test, to which she did not respond. I prepared the materials I needed, and scrubbed my hands thoroughly to ensure sanitary conditions, and prepared a scalpel, suturing materials, as well as the plates, screws for them, the medical drill and bandaging materials that would be applied after the surgery.
Thirdly, I disinfected the area where the incision would be, then drew a line with a fine-point medical marker, along where the incision would be. Then, I proceeded to make an incision along that line.
I then carefully corrected the positions of the bone fragments, once done, I placed the plates in the correct positions so that the bone would be mended, and drilled them into place.
Fourthly, I performed a final check on the bone, and then began to close it, and suture it. I used a surgeon's knot, which would lay under the skin so as to not risk as much likelihood of the stitch breaking apart.
Fifthly, I bandaged the site with a sterile bandage.
I then transferred the patient into a recovery room and ensured that they were monitored, in case of complications.
To combat infection after the procedure, I would have prescribed anti-inflammatories, as well as antibiotics.
What are the responsibilities of the Medical Consultant in RP?:
To (1) provide medical care to all foundation personnel indiscriminately, to (2) instruct medical personnel on correct procedures, hold lectures and answer all questions asked, to (3) review medical documents made by personnel within the department, as well as documents made about medical personnel, to (4) ensure the proper instruction of trainees, to (5) conduct all necessary medical procedures without complaint or discrimination and to (6) conduct oneself considering ethics at all times.
Please give some lore about your Medical Consultant character and what story lines they would be involved in:
“Sophia Linkletter was born on the first of October during the year ▇▇ in ▇▇▇▇, ▇▇▇▇▇▇. She was born to ▇▇▇▇ and ▇▇▇▇▇ Linkletter. By the time Sophia was three, the couple had divorced. She resided with her mother, ▇▇▇▇ ▇▇▇, ever since.
When she reached the age of six, she was enrolled in ▇▇▇▇▇▇ ▇▇ Primary School. Throughout her schooling career at ▇▇▇▇▇▇ ▇▇, she received various diplomas for academic and sports endorsements. At the age of ten, she received provincial (▇▇ ▇▇▇▇ ▇▇▇) colours for field hockey. She graduated primary school in the top ranks of academic achievers.
With her good academic and sport record, she easily nestled into one of the most elite schools in ▇▇▇▇▇▇. This was the ▇▇▇▇▇▇ Academy of ▇▇▇▇▇▇.
During her career at ▇▇▇▇▇▇ Academy of ▇▇▇▇▇▇, she was in numerous clubs, controlled various activities, all while balancing an appropriate academic record for someone who wished to go into medicine. She was a cultural and academic leader for most of her school career, except for a few minor slip-ups.
She graduated from ▇▇▇▇▇▇ Academy of ▇▇▇▇▇▇ with a 3.8 G.P.A., allowing her to attend ▇▇▇▇▇▇ University through a learnership, and start her bachelor’s programme for Biological Science and her doctorate program for Medicine.
Despite the intensity of both of her degree programmes, she continued on with strength. By ▇▇, she had completed her Bachelor's degree in Biological science and had elected to take a minor class in Psychology.
During the year ▇▇, she graduated with honors for her Master's programme in Medicine. She was ▇▇ ▇▇▇▇▇ ▇ ▇▇▇▇▇ ▇▇▇▇ ▇▇ ▇▇▇, ▇▇ ▇▇▇ ▇▇▇▇▇ ▇▇ ▇▇▇ ▇▇ ▇▇▇▇▇.
Despite her young age, she rose through the ranks quite quickly and was able to become a Senior Doctor. She is currently working towards her Doctorate in Medicine.” - Taken from Sophia 'Teddy' Linkletter: Character Biography.
Every day she works hard to perfect her medical knowledge alongside her colleagues.
She will most likely spend her days doing medical or psychological consultations with members of the foundation who need it. She is filled with a distinct purpose and place within the organisation, which drives her to excellence every day.
