Original Steam login name (your accounts first ever name): jodidomatador (Tay)
For how long have you played on CG SCP-RP: Roughly 800 hours at this point
Age: 23
In what country are you located?: UK
Time zone: BST
Foundation Name (include your regiment and rank if applicable): MTF: O-1 CSG Taylor "Stopheart" Vista
Chaos name (include your rank): CI-B Tay "Madness"
Civilian name: Tay Magdalena
Steam ID: STEAM_0:1:65213148
Discord ID (name#0000): .nuo.
Do you have a mic?: Yes
What server are you applying for?: UK-SCP
Is this the first application you made? If no, link all previous applications: n/a
Have you received any kicks/bans/warnings? and why?: None
Do you have any previous experience as a Gamemaster/Event Manager in a community?: Yes, I've been a Senior GM on a Fallout RP server, and I've been Head GM on an HL2RP server. The HL2RP server was rather large, with a max peak of 84, which it remained at the majority of the time, and the Fallout RP server was serious RP focused with everything application based and rarely surpassed 30 players and didn't last for longer than a few months.

Do you have any previous experience with serious roleplay?:

Yes, I have played a large amount of serious roleplay on a mix of different servers and games. On Gmod, I've played HL2RP serious servers, the classic /roll to shot, and with every sentence including a /me or /it description. Continued on with the focus on Gmod, I've played the above-mentioned Fallout RP server, where once again I was placed in an enjoyable server where everyone was serious and amazing RP'ers yet in a newish setting to me. Moving away from Gmod, I've also played FiveM GTARP servers, where I had considerable RP experience in both the police force, and as a gang lead focused on smuggling drugs. I've also done a decent amount of mil-sim RP/operations on Arma 3, which was not exactly serious RP, it is rather close, as everyone is expected to perform their duties and RP their roles/ranks to a very high level. And finally, I've done a decent amount of chat-based RP, which I mainly did when I was a lot younger, which helped me flesh out my writing skills between characters.

How many hours can you be on every day?:

I play the server quite a lot, and average somewhere between 3-9 hours a day, with some exceptions depending on my work schedule.

Why do you want to become a Gamemaster on our server?:

The reason I wish to become a gamemaster, is that I already have experience with the role, and believe that I can put that experience to amazing use within the server, and help to improve the RP on the server. I've already worked with a number of GMs/staff on events, and storylines, mainly with Athena and Foxatron, who I assisted in brainstorming events that CI could do to enhance their RP experience. And with Athena, I have assisted, and am actively assisting her in events, including helping to write background information, lore, and create characters to be used, all of which I have had lots of fun while doing, and wish to continue doing as a full GM.

What do you think you would be able to help us with on the server? Why are you special over the other applicants?:

I am a published author, with a fair amount of books under my belt that are listed under pen names. My writing is top-notch, my ability to characterize and showcase vast amounts of interesting and unique characters is near second to none. And my creative literature is outstanding. All of these skills that I have can contribute greatly to the server, I can assist in writing server lore, help flesh out RP events and avoid the more obvious plotholes and cliches, and act as distinct and interesting characters during events.

Please List 3 small event ideas (Which would involve at least one side of the server):

The lost third?

An E-11 patrol around HCZ is meant to be rather simple, yet when the team entered SCP-939's containment chamber to check on it, they found something unexpected.

A third 939?

Teams scramble to figure out just how an SCP-939-3 has appeared out of nowhere, Researchers are called in to test, E-11 are close by on standby in case this is a lead-up to an SCP breach, and containment experts are prepped near and waiting for what could happen.

And as the Researchers poke and prod this new SCP-939, something strange happens. The SCP-939-3 is just a clone of SCP-939-2, and the actual SCP that cloned our dear friend, 939-2 is something else entirely! A strange new SCP that takes the appearance of whatever makes it laugh, now the game is turning the deadly 939 clone into something more harmless by... telling it a joke?

How did SCP-939-2 make this thing laugh in the first place?

But what happens if you make it sad? Yeah... let's not first out.

Coffee on the... branches?

We all love a good coffee, especially CI. After a long day of chaos, Class-F'ing Foundation personnel, stealing documents and info breaching whoever this Administrator guy is; is hard, and thirsty work. So what better way than to relax with a mug of coffee? But wait... all the coffee beans have run out?

No, literally... THEY'VE RAN OUT OF THE BUNKER!

Chase them, quickly, don't let them get far. Oh wait, where are they going, why are they all climbing up that one tree?

Great. Now we've got a giant tree with all its leaves replaced with coffee beans. Oh, and what a shocker, the beans are jumping off the tree and attacking us... at least they barely hurt, but how do we beat coffee beans?

With... water? Seriously? Oh, no, you weren't serious. We're just shooting them normally, thank god. And the tree? Wait, what's that? Why does the UNGOC have a giant kettle running out of their base?

At least we're getting our coffee after all...

The Hammer Defector

A CI convoy is coming through Pinewood, or... was coming through Pinewood, at least until an Nu-7 attack heli blows it into tiny pieces. Now Nu-7 is on the move to recover whatever is left behind, and what do they find... a data drive? Best give it to the tech experts, they'll crack it open, and what do they find?

H-HUH? AN NU-7 CO IS A CI SPY?

Welp, time to figure out who, get all the COs in one spot, and begin to question them... Ah, one small issue... they've been Class-F'd to forget they're in CI and to believe they're truly a Nu-7 CO!

Guess the questions have to be a little more... interesting than usual.

Sorry, what? CI are putting all those Nu-7 outfits they pull from corpses to good, or bad use? Great, now we have two fake Nu-7 trying to ask dummy questions to keep their agent hidden, this is going great!

Well, let's hope we find the correct guy, and if we don't... well, maybe CI have forgotten their activation code to wake up their sleeper agent, right?

Please List a Map change event idea (Involving both sides and the entire server):

On most days, little happens at the Foundation. However, on some days, everything happens. We usually prefer the former, yet unfortunately, today it's the latter.

A giant pillar has suddenly appeared in the middle of Pinewood, and anyone who seems to touch it gets... randomly teleported to somewhere nearby?

Strange, UNGOC is the first to respond, walking right up to and teleporting right into SCP-008's chamber, phew, thank god the vials are all safe and locked up.

While the Foundation is scrambling to see how the hell the UNGOC got into 008. CI is now approaching the pillar, they're a little smarter after seeing UNGOC vanish, and they're staying at a distance.

CI begins to test the pillar while the UNGOC and Foundation work out how this happened, but CI is learning quickly, and using robots with little cameras on them, they've figured out they can use teleportation to jump right into the Foundation's base for their next raid.

A CI raid appearing out of nowhere in the Foundation's base prompts them to instantly begin to investigate, with UNGOC already having the start of the trail. The two track down the pillar, and begin their investigation in full.

CI isn't happy about this, and the three factions fight a mini-war over the seemingly indestructible portal which... for some weird reason has stopped teleporting people?

Does it matter who wins? Probably not, whoever does, continues their investigation, but nothing can stop the pillar from doing one last teleport that it's been charging up.

And bang, the whole of Site-65 and Pinewood, all the personnel and all are suddenly teleported to another place! Another... site?

Site-56. It's the exact same as Site-65... except... everything is upside down?

CI is stuck inside the garage, UNGOC has found a home in their embassy, and the Foundation is running around on the roofs trying to figure out how to escape this backward reality, it doesn't take long. They soon find four new smaller pillars scattered around the base, one in the garage, one on F3, one in EZ, and one in HCZ.

The UNGOC trapped here have sent their researchers to investigate their pillar outside their embassy, the Foundation is dealing with the pillars in HCZ and F3, and CI is checking out the pillar in the garage.

While they may be trapped in this upside-down site, things from the outside seem to be able to enter from outside... this is getting bad quickly.

And the only way to fix it, is to activate all four pillars at the same time and wait for the charge-up to happen, let's hope it sends us back to the same spot...

List an example mission for each of the following:
O-1:
You know the drill by now, someone gets handed a shiny new CL4 card and a department to lead, and they instantly begin getting involved in the good ol' EC-O5 politic business, maybe this guy made a few too many unkind comments towards the Ethic Committee, maybe he let a few Ethic violations pass by unnoticed, or maybe he's sucking up to the O5 Council a bit too much. Either way, our mission is clear; bag the guy, get him into the EC offices, take his disguise, and have him... "mess up" while we record it all. Class-A him to forget the whole ordeal, and with this flawless evidence, even the O5 Council will be forced to ignore his pleads of innocent in the mock tribunal we pull him into.
A-1: We've all heard the stories... the Chaos Insurgency were once us, Alpha-1. Doesn't matter if it's true or not, the reality is that a small group of them are claiming to be a part of the original A-1 defectors, and they're trying to come back. Escort them into the site, take their weapons, and get them in front of the O5 Council, they'll deal with this. We've just got to make sure CI don't come running to reclaim... or kill, their old guys.
Nu-7: Right, listen up boys! Some of our field units have found an old American nuke in the ground, don't ask me how it got there. Probably lost during the Cold War, isn't the first time it happened. Anyways, our boys from the NWS, that's the Nuclear Weapon Specialist squad for those that don't know, are gonna be arriving by chopper to disarm this thing and get rid of it. Our job is to take 'em there and give them cover while they work, we're expecting CI to get involved, so let's keep it snappy!
E-11: Of all the things I expected, I didn't expect SCP-076 to break into SCP-7722's chamber and find... religion? So lads, now we've got two Christ-worshiping SCPs who seem more interested in debating the bible in HCZ rather than killing people. I suppose this isn't a... bad thing? But either way, we've got to break them up and get them back in their containment cells. If we play this right, maybe a few bible quotes here and there, we can do this without a shot fired.
CI:
Knock knock. It's MC&D, we've got a contact we need completed. We'll keep it simple for you, UNGOC hit one of our auction houses in mid-swing, we don't care about the items, acceptable losses, but they got a file we want back. We need you to break into their base at Pinewood, get that file, and hand it to us ASAP! Payment? Oh, right, well I suppose you can keep any of our items you find in their base, we don't really need them. Now, are you all ready?
UNGOC:
Good afternoon, soldiers! We've got an operation to carry out. McConnel is holding an auction in which they're selling a KTE. The goal is simple, we're raiding the auction, grabbing that KTE, exacting it to a safe place and sending it off to the afterlife with a destruction beam. Let's just hope it doesn't get loose in the chaos.
Foundation Staff:
Ladies and gentlemen, the Research Department has decided to host a beauty contest. Except with a TWIST! That's right, you won't be getting dressed up yourself, but dressing up our lovely team of SAFE class SCPs. So get your SCP-073 dresses ready, and your SCP-999 make-up primed. Because we're seeing which one of these safe beauties will look the best for our lovely panel of judges from the cooking department!

I quite enjoyed reading this and its interesting formatting/writing style for an application
I agree with dutches points regarding the example missions being similar to duties, however I believe Tay accurately portrays a spin onto these duties which would help enhance the regular gameplay loop of these players.
I have worked with tay in developing lore and events and I believe their literature ability will help enhance events and lore massively. I believe tay would be a phenomenal addition to the Game Master team and it has always been a pleasure creating roleplay with them.

Event ideas are kinda meh and are the things the mtf's do onna regular. Also think about relations for example the CI one. This would destroy any relations. Further the map change is not a map change but just a major event.

I like you as a person but the application is meh.
Hi, first off, thank you for your reply, especially because you've given me an opportunity to talk about my standard event procedures.

Most of my events are simplistic for the sole fact that I design my events to be more on the reactive side of things. This stems from how I was originally taught when I first became a GM over six years ago. The core essence of my events is that you never say "no" to the player, the only answer that you should give to a /me from a player is, "and so".

So yes, my events may seem simple on the surface, but as I cannot predict how a player will interact with my events, they have to be kept simple to some degree so that the player decides the way the story goes. If a player decides they want to interact in a way I could not foresee, I will have to rapidly change the direction of the event to suit what that player has done. Obviously, this cannot be done for every interaction from a player, but as long as I follow most reactions that players do towards my events, I believe that they are a success.

Naturally, we will always have some events that are closer to a movie, but for those I decided to list in this application, I wanted to focus on events I could easily do alone, on the fly, and without assistance from outside sources or other players/GMs. Larger and more complex events will always require a bunch of people, and, if I am to be accepted as a GM, they will be a minority of the events I'll be doing/assisting in, and it will be the smaller events listed here, that will be more what I'll become known for.

After all, the idea of a GM is to enhance roleplay on the server, and I believe smaller, player-reactive events are the best way to do that.

My verdict is based purely on the events contained within the application.

Most of the events are formatted not as descriptions of the event, but more as briefings one would give the players, however because of this many of the events are only described very vaguely, for example: i have no actual idea how the Nu7 sleeper agent event would have been run, I think this format is not ideal for an application.

Several of the smaller "missions" are very basic and line up with the regular department duties a bit too much for my taste, and share significant thematic overlap with event chains that are currently running as an example the theming of the MC&D related missions.

As a last point, something i tend to look for in an application is some demonstration of familiarity with the SCP Universe even outside of the server, as being familiar with the underlying stories gives great material for a GM-to-be to work with, and i dont see anything in this application to indicate this to me, hence my verdict.

Your first point is completely valid, and I find myself agreeing with it and thank you for your response.

I must first say, that when I wrote these events, I was writing them from a pov of me explaining them to a player. As that is how I first introduce an event to people, whether it is to other GMs, or people who will be assisting me in creating the event. In other words, these are literally the briefs of the events, short paragraphs that you can read, and begin to get a better idea of the event before creating it in full.

And in regard to your second point, I find myself disagreeing completely. An event created for a department is always going to have to line up with their duties to some point or another, otherwise, how will it be justified for that department to do it? My main idea behind these events is to make them match up with how other departments function either in lore or in-game. For example, while an event that is vastly different from a department standard duties may be more memorable for a larger event, most of these events are meant to be small things that can be done regularly and thus have to be justified in the idea that they make sense for that department to be doing them. So yes, they're a twist on standard duties, ones not too large that they bring up the question of why this department is doing them, but ones small that make perfect sense why they're being done, yet different enough they yet add some flavour into the standard duties of a department.

Also, the thematic overlap with the MC&D is a strange point. One of MC&D's biggest inclusions in lore is their vast auction houses, to imply I got the idea from the current MC&D event (which I assisted Athena with anyways) instead of the numerous SCP files which have their origin from these MC&D auctions, is a little hurtful.

For your final point, you're correct in that I did not mention existing SCPs nor did I have many references to SCP Universe lore outside of the server. This is purposeful.

Truthfully, I'd wager the majority of players do not have much knowledge, other than surface-level knowledge of the SCP Universe, and thus for these smaller events, I focused more on actual player enjoyment without having to know boatloads of knowledge. I believe the primary point of an event is to be truthful to the server, in the sense that it fits in with the current server lore and operations, and to be enjoyable.

I will concede, that my application is focused towards players, rather than towards GMs, this is both an oversight and slightly of my intention.
You see, I do not like posting my more in-depth and larger events, which would include a lot of what you said, both for obvious reasons and because the layout I use for larger events is done entirely in Google Docs as they're not suited to be explained in a brief manner.

Nevertheless, thank you for your response, it shows you put a lot of time into reading my application, which I am grateful for, and I hope that my reply is acceptable to you.

The point i was making is that in this application you are trying to demonstrate your capability and creativity, and your choice of also using the MC&D theming with such overlap to a current event is not a good choice for demonstrating either, which leaves me in the dark on whether or not your possess it.

In this you are partially correct, the vast majority of players and especially many new players have only marginal knowledge of the SCP universe, which usually is enough to run on the server, the most "obscure" thing that we have which is part of Server content is the UNGOC, however one of the things Events and GMs serve to do is to act as the link between this knowledge and the playerbase, using said knowledge of the wider SCP universe to expand the setting of the server.

Im not entirely certain what you mean by "truthful to the server", an event usually is explicitly something not normally possible during ordinary operations, Events generally are not truthful to the server in that sense as they are temporary, often even only one-time occurrences.

An Event is the prime opportunity to do things that normally do not fit into the server, the UNGOC was an event faction before being added to the server, and I distinctly recally barely anyone even knowing who they were, and through the event chain even those who did not look up what the GOC is learned through their actions. Their troops having cloaking capabilities, their considerable military force, their position as a rival of the Foundation and their more genocidal attitude towards the anomalous were all shown to the players first hand to learn from.

Thank you for your reply.

In regards to your mentioning of events being unique and adding things that are not normally seen on the server, I entirely agree, and I believe a sight miscommunication has popped up here.

When I was referring to events being "truthful to the server", I was mainly referring to a mix of the SCP-Lore and the server lore. So, in other words, not doing an event that is so far-fetched that it is in contrast to the server's content. To break it down further, creating a custom SCP to use in an event is great, as long as it still fits the tone of the SCP lore, and is something that isn't so crazy to break the standard flow of the server and its lore. An extreme example would be creating an SCP that is on par with SCP-001 "The Scarlet King", or anything else that is almost impossible to interact with on a minor level and can only be solved by the player base by doing something very unfun.

Yes, events can be unique, and yes, larger events should always be something unique that stands out so that players can remember it for a long time to come. My main point was that smaller events, ones that can be ran daily, do not have to always be completely unique, and can be a twist on standard department duties to simply break up the monotony of what is done as usual.

Moving towards your mentioning of events using interesting factions that are not bought up commonly, I also agree that it helps introduce the player base to other GOIs or SCPs that are rarely seen. One of the events that I assisted in, led by the amazing GM François "Frnquis", which involved Anderson Robotics, helped to introduce a good chunk of those who interact with the event to that GOI, one that is very uncommonly used yet has massive potential. Another GOI I believe has the potential to be used for events is The Factory, which is a GOI that specializes in the creation of mass-produced anomalies and has so little known information on it, that it can be freely shaped in numerous different ways for events; including the creation of custom SCPs, and then leaving the reaction of The Factory entirely up-to the GMs manning the event.

All of these can, and should be introduced via events to give the player base more insight into SCP lore, all of which are things I wish to do assuming I get accepted as a GM.

If possible, I would like to view some of your works? (Posting this here in case, you miss my Discord DM)

I would like to view your work critically and it doesn't have to necessarily involve the SCP universe because I feel applicants can adjust and write within the universe with enough effort and guidance. I personally value a writer's core skillsets such as writing narratives, fleshing out characters and having a good background in literature in general.
