For how long have you played on CG SCP: Couple days, started on 7th of March
Age: 21
In what country are you located?: England, UK
Time zone: GMT +0
Character name(s): Tom Shifu
Civilian name: N/A
What server are you applying for? (SCP-RP UK or SCP-RP USA): UK
Do you have a mic?: Yes

List all whitelisted, MTF, or CI roles that you hold or have held: N/A - This is my first whitelist role that I'm going for

Have you received any kicks/bans/warning? and why?: No, not even any arrests

What makes you the best candidate for Ethics Committee Assistant?:
I believe I'm the best candidate because of my ability to remain calm and observant regardless of what's happening around me, not letting any comment strike me personally. As soon as I started playing, I looked around all the possible roles in the F4 menu and EC caught my attention, I started reading into different documents accessible both made by the server and even EC based documents on the SCP site itself. My real first objective, was getting myself into ISD as it's objectives align with the perspective of the EC and I thought it would be the perfect practice, I'm not going to lie and say I'm very experienced ISD member as I joined not so long ago but so far I haven't gotten in any trouble with what I've been doing.

I'm very much wanting to learn more from EC as a whole, either through ISD until I'm capable of joining it or if already capable learning as an Assistant under EC. I still have many gaps in my knowledge when it comes to certain topics, but I'm able to say with confidence that I've managed to learn a lot in my few days here and very much wanting to expand that knowledge further.

What are the responsibilities of Ethics Committee Assistants in RP?:
ECA have many different responsibilities that I will try my best to rank from top to bottom based on the priority. (Will give reason for each)
  1. Representing the EC with professional behaviour at all times, not breaking any rules and generally being an example to others.
R: It feels odd to put this at first, but as an assistant I would represent the image of EC and any misconduct or unprofessional behaviour will not only show that an ECA doesn't following guidelines themselves but giving EC as a whole a bad imagine, affecting them long term potentially.
  1. Ensuring all guidelines are being followed within Site-65, being the eyes of EC, looking over situations such as how Class-D get treated by GSD and Researchers, how foundation personnel interact with each other, if departments are following all of their policies and at the end how the anomalies themselves are handled (specifically sentient type SCP).
R: I have put this above orders given by EC as I believe this will be duties that will be carried out every time that I would be on, and even if I'm busy doing something for EC, I wouldn't want to simply ignore any wrong doing taking place before me. Calling ISD or O-1 to swiftly investigate if I'm unable to do so myself.
  1. Carrying any orders given by the Ethics Committee and watching over any on-going operations that are being executed by ISD or EC themselves and bringing up any ideas or concerns directly to the command of the operation or the group as a whole.
R: This may seem low, but I do want to emphasise that all ECA responsibilities are very important regardless of ranking, including any orders from EC and any ISD operations taking place, always making sure progress is made in both situations.
  1. Carrying out duties of a CL4 Personnel, especially when others are absent to ensure the site is working at maximum efficiency.
R: EC in my eyes has always been something that doesn't like to show it's power openly, and I feel like taking command as any other CL4 personnel showcases that. It's still important to do so when need be, but I feel like this shouldn't be done so often.

Please give some lore about your Ethics Committee Assistant character and what storylines they would be involved in:
Background
Tom Wesker was born in Krakow, Poland. The early days and life are a bit of a haze. Most records from that period are spotty or just plain insufficient to retrieve. One can glean that he was not an academic standout. There is a different story from the teachers he knew during that period. He was a very quiet boy and was known for stepping in to help break up fights. There were no standardized tests from that period to fall back on.

During his teenage years, he moved to London with his family. The time in London is characterized by language difficulties and poor academic performance in the early years. There were hints in his later writings that these difficulties shaped his thoughts on environmental stress and human adaptability.

He went on to further his studies at Oxford University. His course of study was Cognitive Psychology. There were hints from the academic staff during this period that Wesker’s focus was on the ethical treatment of his study participants. He described his work as “participant-centered.”

Foundation Recruitment
In 2019, Wesker has completed a research study where he examined human responses when exposed to environments on environment that wasn't expected, by either breaking their sense of logic or simply seeming physically impossible. The study main objective was to look into the participants and see how they interpret events that they can't describe at first. The study was posted online, where it drew the attention of the SCP Foundation.

Following many discreet interviews and psychological evolutions, Wesker was offered employment within a facility as a member of the Research Department, assigned the position of Junior Researcher.

Research Record
Over his time at the foundation, Wesker would have his research reports looked through. The reports would show how cautious and methodical Wesker is, while showing care for the individuals partaking in the tests.

Statistical review demonstrated that experiments conducted by Wesker produced reliable data that could be repeated if following his steps but also minimalised on any casualties, returning a lot of D-Class back to the cell after treatment. Wesker did not openly oppose the Foundation's use of D-Class personnel, but he was known to read through other researchers reports, especially those involving high casualty and provided his analysis on it on how these tests contribute to unnecessary fatalities, often noting down alternative methods that could have had similar if not better results with reduced loss of life.

Wesker's research habits and his looking into other personnel has caught the attention of the Ethics Committee, who would run their own review on Wesker and his ethical consideration for D-Class.

In 2025, Wesker was called for a private meeting where he was promoted to Ethics Committee Assistant and was listed his objectives. With his main objective, being to reduce unnecessary fatalities among D-Class personnel while he learnt the other aspects of the job that he wasn't entirely aware of till now.

Additional Info:
I tried my best to learn from different types of departments, doing both GSD work, ISD work, medical work and even playing as a D-Class from the start. I would really want to join EC down the line and would love to learn more until I'm able to. I have attached screenshots of both PT and Levels for it to be accessible in-case there is any doubt regarding playtime or if I got level 50
