Why are you applying for Director of Research?
------------------------------------------------
I've been an Executive Researcher for a fair bit now, roughly three months, despite that I have presented myself to be competent, engaging and furthermore, a valuable asset for the Research command. I had joined at a time when research had a variety of issues; It lacked command members to fully support the research department's needs, alongside a major delay on projects or improvements with regard to the research department. Likewise, I have a fair share of management experience from other servers, although the RP was far more extensive. Thus, I utilized my capabilities to present some improvements for the Research command.
I intend to reform the archive system for physical copies of documentation, at the moment it is stuffed away in a room locked by clearance 4, personally I have received questions regarding the archives that previously were accessible now being nowhere to be seen. Simply, I would like to bring about a more intriguing variant of storing and retaining documents in an archive within the RSD wing.
Another issue within the research department is the lack of involvement of players below Clearance 4 within Executive Researcher projects, collaborative projects or overall departmental projects. Whilst there is the odd one here and there, unfortunately there is a lack. I'd like to find a route around this by engaging with Executives as often as possible and procuring projects accessible to most clearances, it would be beneficial to introducing and providing researchers the liberty of RP through projects. Engagement with Researchers below clearance 4 will also be introduced in a similar manner.
An aspect that I've noticed within the Research Department is the fact that there is no clear onboarding system or guide for Executive Researchers, I'd like to develop and introduce a basic and brief method for onboarding Jr Researchers alike, a concise tutorial essentially. Additionally, I would like to introduce allowing Senior Researchers to onboard Jr Researchers in a similar fashion through encouragement and policy alterations. This system of allowing Senior Researchers to onboard will be further reinforced by encouraging a rewarding system, a set amount of money, such as 5,000 - 7,500, alongside a credit will be issued to Senior Researchers, incentivising to help and also allowing experience for possible candidates wishing to involve themselves as an Executive Researcher. Of course, to evaluate whether this is true or occurred whilst executives were off site, encouragement to clip or even log in a forum on the discord can be introduced.
I would also like to introduce collaborative projects among executives, rather than Executives working with projects by their lonesomes, introducing collaboration requests forum channels or even assignment to work with one another will allow Executives to work together more closely, developing a far more friendly and sociable interaction with one another and generally improve relations. This collaborative ideology would also be expanded onto other departments, inviting departments such as Medical, DEA, Security etc into assigning projects to us and working alongside us with them, or invitation for them to involve themselves in an area of research that requires their attention, this would be emphasised and encouraged.
On a final note, I would generally love to involve myself in the re-work of Research Department boards regarding the various SCP's, permissions in testing, sampling guidelines such as clearance locked sampling not specified, their clearances etc, a far more extensive map would also be on my list of plans to introduce for the department boards. I'd also bring about a tertiary board that evaluates the various policies and requirements for documentation without needing to access an exterior google-document, considering it's only accessible through discord. I would like to work on some personal projects of mine to benefit the Research department in terms of aesthetically pleasing or visual appearance. This would involve decoration through procuring posters (As I have made previously, Ref: ), that is an example of my skills. A more extensive expansion of Cork-Board use, creating various documentation templates for researchers to utilize.
Generally I would also like to personally continue working on my own projects despite the position, I enjoy experimentation and documentation, it's a hobby and a fun one at that, but at a position as a Director would allow me to also assist and work alongside Executives more closely, providing them with needs that they'd struggle to attain as an Executive. I also have a plan to make the Executive Researcher experience slightly more entertaining by introducing and attempting to push for prop placement and access for Executives for RP scenarios, similar to the Directors of Research, Allowing for Directors of Research to grade CL4+ documents uploaded by Executives alike alongside addition of Test tube & Beaker entities to be placed by Executives.
------------------------------------------------
I've been an Executive Researcher for at least three months, despite that, I've considered myself alongside based off of others observations, a suitable Researcher to be looked up to, I constantly work closely with RSD command to introduce changes to the department despite my small role; I worked solely in the re-decoration of rooms within the department, during a time of low active members I had helped re-introduce and note take research meetings with the Director, I onboarded an Executive Researcher who had not been onboarded after his interview resulting in being extremely lost alongside many other feats. I even aided in helping adjust and fix the relations between E-11 and RSD through presentations.
I have a long regime of my effort dedicated into the Research department, I constantly am engaging with other researchers, CL4 or below and willing to always help out despite the circumstances, I've created several documentations, projects and as off current developing an A.R.G. server event with Kake, Synergy, Maxo, Lifeline. In which I helped in story development, start up, writing etc. Furthermore, I plan to introduce more events such as these to allow researchers more access to an intriguing but darker area of the SCP universe.
Moreover, I've demonstrated my RP capabilities, I always tend to describe every action performed, minimal or not and continue to engage in extensive RP with personnel no matter how small or large the event is. I often love presenting my ideas to Game masters and allowing for them to take creative liberty whilst I help out in planning and participating. Examples include Project Trinity, Refinement, Second Skin, concealing dreams etc.
