Discord name: real_engineer

For how long have you played on CG SCP: Around 3 months overall, 10d 03h (vTime)

Age: 18

In what country are you located?:
United Kingdom

Time zone: GMT

Character name(s): Vivian Winters

Civilian name: Jane Black

What server are you applying for?: SCP-RP UK

Do you have a mic?:
Yes

List all whitelisted, MTF, or CI roles that you hold or have held: GOC CPL (Holding), E-11 PVT (Holding)

Have you received any kicks/bans/warning? and why?
: No.

How many excellent-graded documents have you written?: One

Why are you applying for Executive Researcher?:

I am applying for Executive Researcher to enable more high-quality RP, and to make research a fun and rewarding experience, especially from newcomers to the RSD.

When I see Jr. Researchers, a lot of them are clueless and don't know how to RP, or how to document research findings. I love being able to teach people, new or not, new things to make their experience in the research department better, as the more researchers we have that know how to RP effectively, the bigger and more ambitious events and projects can be.

The best thing for the research department to have would be every test have some form of RP in it, no matter how big or small, and to involve both junior and senior members of the department to allow for everyone to learn something from each other, and I would like to try to be able to set up events and opportunities to allow scenarios like this to happen.

I wish to foster a sense of curiosity in the research department, and assist others to do their best work.

What makes you suitable for Executive Researcher?:
After working as a Senior Researcher for a while, I feel I now have the experience to be able to give good constructive criticism, and to know what do in times of emergency, or how to assist others if they are incapable of doing tasks, or don't know how to do them.

My experience from working as a UNGOC NCO also ties into this, as I am familiar with all of the GOIs often seen around Pinewood, and have experience in both medical and research RP, as I have my medical license on both GOC and Foundation.

In future I would like to plan both more projects and tests, and work with other Executives and Directors of Research, and work closely with other departments like Medical, and possibly any other friendly/neutral GOIs that would like to further their understanding of the anomalous.

What makes a document excellent?:
When comparing my average and excellent documents, I notice that there are a few important parts of a document to improve it's quality, which are detail, format, and amount of information. If you create a document, you want to think about how you can improve upon it, if you could repeat tests and change things to see if you could change it to answer more questions you have.

Things that can help elevate a document to excellency are good graphs, diagrams, photos, descriptions, and interviews.

What are the responsibilities of the Executive Researcher in RP?:
Authorising and overseeing tests, representing RSD/collaborating with other departments, hosting lectures, job banning unruly RSD, leading projects, grading documents (Jr - Sr), training Jr researchers and giving feedback on testing/documentation.

During code 5's, Executives are also sometimes needed to close blast doors, or escort and allow noncombatants into the breach shelter, or on occasion man Advanced Armoury in security in absence of CL4 combatatives.

Please give some lore about your Executive Researcher character and what storylines they would be involved in:

Name: Vivian Winters
Age: 30
Job: Sr. Researcher
Birthplace:
█████████, Scotland
Clearence: Level 3

Before Foundation Employment:
Before the Foundation, Vivian worked towards a PhD in Biology in The University of Glasgow after finishing her BSc and Masters, between her Masters degree and PhD, she worked in a biotechnology development facility, working alongside other disciplines of science such as pharmacologists and chemists, while she worked there for the 3 years between her degrees, she gained the confidence to work up to get a PhD, doing her dissertation on "The Effects of Dopamine on Brain Development".

After she got her PhD, she worked for another 2 years at a research facility, where she eventually was scouted through her acedemic papers, and was invited to a role as a Researcher at a new, mysterious facility.

During Foundation Employment:
After being scouted in their prior employment, Vivian joined as a junior researcher, and worked their way up to senior after 3 years by writing a large amount of documents, collaborating with other researchers.

She holds specific fascinations with SCP-9000, SCP-049-2, and SCP-682, for 049-2 and 9000s unique anatomy and biological processes, and 682s ability of infinite regeneration, which could hold great importance in studies like stem cell research.

Future Storylines:
One idea for a future storyline is measuring the intelligence and capabilities of SCP-008 as a sapient creature, including Vivian and the medical department studying SCP-008-2 specimens, checking how their internal organs work, if they are capable of higher thinking and metacognition, alongside E-11 observing and adapting their containment methods by using the new information against 008 breaches.

Another idea is working with the GOC to develop a system of regular scheduled research exchanges, deepening the ties within PTOLEMY and the research department, to overall increase the amount of information we can gather against anomalies.

looking at the document logs it looks like you've only ever submitted 2 documents, can you explain why?

Docs aren't that important
If I have never seen someone on RSD their doc count could be a big indicator of how much work and effort they have put into the department so far. In my opinion docs are also a good way to worldbuild RP

I would much rather have a few documents that i'm happy with and that are rated well, than a large amount of documents i'm unhappy with.
Sometimes i have to scrap some because I just don't think it has enough information, or i just plain don't like how it turned out. You can always add more documents, but you can't delete ones you don't like. I'm working towards submitting more in the future as well.
