Why are you applying for the Chief of Security?
I'm applying for Chief of Security because I've genuinely enjoyed my time as a GSD Captain and being part of the GSD community. With Chief Astro's recent resignation, I’d like to step up and continue the great work that has been done. GSD is currently in a great state, captain slots are almost completely full, and we have a consistent presence of CL3s and below.
I’m not here to promise major reforms or claim I’ll fix things that aren’t broken. Instead, I want to keep this momentum going, provide stability during the transition, and support our team, especially new players considering their first CL4 role to be captain. My focus is on consistency, mentorship, and maintaining the strong community we share in GSD. That said, I do plan to improve the areas that need attention. Some of our documents and license quizzes are outdated or broken, and I’d like to rework them to be clearer and overall better. I also plan to update and clean up the GSD Google Drive, as many of its links are outdated or inaccurate.
What makes you suitable for Chief of Security?:
I bring a strong foundation of CL4 experience across multiple departments during my time on Civil Networks. I have been a Captain for the past three months, where I’ve gotten to know the other captains and chiefs very well. I’ve also had great interactions with other departmental leaders, such as RSD, Medical and ISD. I plan to strengthen departmental cooperation through operations and cross-departmental initiatives. With Marrio and I both leading, departmental relations will be at an all-time high.
I’m familiar with the behind the scenes responsibilities that come with higher positions. I’ve handled roster work as a E11 LT, announcing and logging promotions. I’ve done activity checks during my time in Nu-7 as an assistant activity manager where I issued over a dozen overdue activity strikes and a few removals to bring the roster back up to standard, as it had been left unmanaged for a while.
What are the responsibilities of the Chief of Security in RP?:
- Hosting Weekly meetings with the GSD Captains
- Overseeing and accepting SGT scouting candidates
- Work with Site Administration to make improvements and changes to the department. As well as discussing progress within the department and getting feedback from them.
- Accepting or denying GSD captain applications
- Maintaining the roster and documentation
- Maintaining departmental relations
- Teaching and guiding new captains in the department
- Upholding conduct and performance standards
- Engage with the department to fix issues that affect the overall health of the department
- Holding interviews for new captains
- Creating RP
Please give some lore about your Chief of Security character and what storylines they would be involved in:
Clyde was born in rural Alabama to a mother of two, while his brother Cleetus managed to score an offshore job riddled with NDA’s, Clyde managed to go through the police academy and sign on with their local police force.
As a junior member of the police force Clyde often found himself needing to make a bit of cash on the side, petty bribes became his bread and butter, a bit of cash here, a minor assault charge disappearing, it was all so easy.
Although Clyde was living the easy life once word of his corrupt actions got out it would be all over.
One fateful afternoon after a mugging went wrong Clyde let the prime suspect go after being offered a large sum of money, little did he know that the victim had been the district attorney's wife.
In a flash Clyde's police career was hanging by a thread, when an offer came over the table from his estranged brother, a small job located in rural Canada, Cleetus hadn't mentioned much, only that the employers were the kind that could make problems disappear.
Clyde adjusted to his new life within the facility well enough, his brother's job offer had landed him straight into the facilities Internal Affairs department, Clyde was quick to work his way up to ambassador but his old tendencies stuck with him.
Murder being swept under the rug, chemicals going missing, it was all so easy with this new role, What was evidence really when you could just make your own.
Little did he know there were greater forces, watching, waiting, and it was on a perfect day like any other that they chose to make a move.
A normal morning, a coffee in hand, a stroll into the Internal Affairs wing, it was all so normal he hadn't noticed the heavily armed MTF units that were scoping the wing out, watching him.
He had no clue anything was wrong until the bag was placed over his head, and his world went black.
When he awoke, he found he was stripped of everything, only left with the shirt on his back and tied to a chair.
As Clyde tried to regain his focus and composure, a man stepped into view, dressed in a long black trenchcoat and escorted by four heavily armed MTF units.
“Do you know why you're here Stilthorn” the mad spoke with a voice that could chill the dead.
As Clyde raised his head to respond the man held out a hand, “That was rhetorical”.
“You have been our most effective investigator, IA’s most praised Ambassador, but I know your secret” the man said as he reached into his back pocket, retrieving a VHS tape.
As he inserted the VHS into a nearby projector, the video splashed onto the opposite wall, showing Clyde as well as another IA member assisting in the escape of a D-Class after being paid.
“Now I consider myself a forgiving man, and people around here seem to like you, and to be frank i like your effectiveness, but this cannot stand, now if it were up to my colleagues, you'd have been killed” the man said as he took a step back, “But I've managed to strike a deal with the current Chief of Security, seeing as how the crime should fit the punishment, you will be stripped of all ranks and reduced to a General Security Cadet”
As the man walked away he stepped over a lump covered by a sheet, snapping his fingers at his accompanying men and gave a glance back over his shoulder.
“And do remember Clyde, this is your last chance” the man said before giving a small nod, his guards then ripped the sheep from the lump revealing the other IA Agent on the ground severely beaten.
Before Clyde could say a word, another nod was given, an injection gun pulled out and pressed into the IA Agents neck, before the man began to cry in pain as his flesh started to sizzle and flames erupted from his form.
It was only hours later that a dispatch of GSD was sent to retrieve him and clean up the mess.
As time went on for Clyde, resentment grew, who were they to take that from him, to ruin him like this, the only thing that kept him fueled was his ambition, and so he rose, from Cadet to Guard, From Guard to Officer, it wasn't long before he had managed to worm his way into a Junior leadership position as a Sergeant.
But as his time in the rank grew long he knew he would have to put in even more work to get any higher, and so he did, patrolling, sweeping, fighting chaos, anything he could do so that people would see him, he did.
Until one day he sat at the second highest position within his department, Security Captain, but there were still roadblock, people above him, complications to his aspirations, he needed even more power.
So he lied in wait, biding his time, until he saw the resignation of one of the two current Chiefs, and then he was there, just a small step, so close he could taste it, the authority, the manpower, it was all so close, just one more step, and he would have his revenge.
