Update: after deleting multiple copies of the map. and retrying. it's still providing me with the error

Definitely ain’t a host error. I saw someone cleaned out their whole gmod just to get things going again and while that might be a pain, it’s possible there’s some sort of corruption in your files causing this. Give your gmod a full clean via clearing out all the files in the documents folder of your C drive under GarrysMod (don’t clean out your ENTIRE documents folder) along with uninstalling the game itself to reset things.
