What does this suggestion add/change/remove:
The only currently existent Foundation Dimensional Cartographer rules are housed on the SCP-RP-UK RSD Policies and Guidelines document, which has different terms than SCP-RP-US (Like MTF Loop), has different rules that include the Cartographer more than the US does, and is also more out-of-pocket to find as a US player. Not only that but they feel a tad vague and don't help specify what a Dimensional Cartographer is expected of normally. With the new changes to the US Information Hub, I feel there should be a section including the Cartographer rules. It would also be cool if more rules were added to integrate the Cartographer more into the game, since the Cartographer on the US servers really doesn't feel particularly useful or eventful outside of joining combat while inside the RSD and making 100 pounds.
Has something similar been suggested before? If so, why is your suggestion different?:
I've seen a lot of interesting Cartographer Suggestions before, but they are still quite wide and few, and none of them mention the rules. All other Cartographer Suggestions mention game mechanics.
Possible Positives of the suggestion (At least 2):
Integrating Cartographers into more Roleplay scenarios and/or the flow of Site-65
Possibly giving Cartographers more testing initiative
Clears up any confusion a player may have when playing Foundation Cartographer
Makes information easier to find for US players
May give Dimensional Cartographers more of a purpose beside "a researcher with a gun who is technically allowed inside other dimensions"
Possible Negatives of the suggestion:
May distract the people who lovingly work to make the server better from focusing on other improvements
Might make the Info Hub more convoluted or clustered(?)
Not helpful for UK players I suppose
Based on the Positives & Negatives, why should this suggestion be accepted:
At it's base, this suggestion doesn't change how the game plays, so even if the Cartographer doesn't get major rule changes, just having the rules on the US Information Hub is more useful than nothing. This suggestion, if new rules aren't created, doesn't disturb any of the game mechanics or mess with Foundation operations. All this suggestion comes down to is displaying information on the Cartographer's role in the Foundation and what players wanting to join the Cartographer Team have to look forward to as well as helping out existing Cartographer players with understanding their limitations and applications.
