Why are you applying for Director of Research?

I am applying for Director of Research because of my desire for the research department to prosper. Through my months of playing this server I have managed to gain multiple leadership roles with their own responsibilities such as leading others, being an example, management of the department/regiment and the handling of other members. I want to incorporate what I have learnt from these other roles I hold in CI, E-11 and GOC into aiding research with its many problems that it faces. Every time I see a junior researcher I always attempt to onboard them and through these onboardings I am able to depict and tell what tasks in research are easier to do or harder to do, I intend to make all tasks easier for the sake of growing RSD and being a welcoming department to all who want to join or participate in it. Research has always been my personal favorite role in the site and after a few months of holding the Executive role I believe I am ready and capable of taking the next big step.

What makes you suitable for Director of Research?:

I believe that many qualities about myself make me suitable for the Director of Research role.
  • I understand, can create, and can add to roleplay scenarios which can involve anybody.
  • I understand relations between the departments and can depict what is wrong or could go wrong whether it be through new rules/policies.
  • I am able to carry out the correct punishments to those deserving
  • I am well recognised and liked within the Research department
  • I am very experienced with leadership positions
  • I am committed to the Research department
  • I can hold high levels of professionalism when it is required
  • I do good work in research whether it be through tests or helping new researchers understand the role of research
  • I am familiar with how to carry out many things that the DOR handles, such as rewarding merits, reviewing things and handling issues.
What are the responsibilities of the Director of Research in RP?:

The Director of Research is the head of the Research department, they are responsible for many tasks such as, the interviewing of possible executive researchers after they have been voted in by the current execs. The updating, changing or regulating of the policies in place for RSD. Maintaining Department health and professionalism in both the Junior to Specialist researchers and Executive researchers. Handling relations between departments that directly involve or conflict with RSD. Creating roleplay scenarios or roleplay events that includes everybody. Being an example towards all researching below them through professionalism and the correct handling of issues. The creation of projects and research tasks for the leaders of research and those wanting to participate with the correct clearance and authorisation.

Please give some lore about your Director of Research character and what storylines they would be involved in:

Early Years:

Nathan’s life had begun in Australia. Nathan had lived with his loving family for most of his early to teen years and he wasn't known for being too academically smart, in fact he was around the midrange level of academics. This would change however when he had reached high school and was beginning to get more involved with learning, Nathan would grow a strange and abnormal interest towards topics involving infectious diseases and biological chemistry, more specifically he would be heavily interested in the weaponisation of pathogens used throughout modern warfare. These interests led him to picking chemical and biology classes at his school to increase his knowledge and studies on his interests. Nathan would soon leave high school full of knowledge regarding infectious diseases and biological chemistry which led him to attempting to recreate previously used chemicals in history. Nathan would run field tests in secluded areas with his creations which eventually got him noticed by the SCP foundation. The foundation rather than brushing him off and thinking of him as weird, instead decided to recognise his brilliance in the replication of these diseases/chemicals and decided to attempt to recruit him. Nathan accepted the invitation to work in the foundation promptly after being asked.

After Recruitment:

Nathan was recruited into the foundation as a junior researcher, he was overwhelmed but with joy after recognising his many opportunities in front of him. The site in which Nathan was recruited to was site 234, during his time working here he had gained massive amounts of reputation through his hard work and expertise in anomalous biohazards and pathogen containment. Nathan’s work had slowly begun shifting from simple containment procedures towards the experimental application of anomalous biological agents for defensive and combative purposes. Nathan’s work was effective during site 234’s biohazard incidents and containment emergencies which had earned him respect among research personnel. Following a review of site 234’s research operation, Nathan was transferred to work at site 65 to work in a broader research environment. Since the arrival of Nathan he had shown a great amount of commitment to RSD and his tests which led him to the permanent stationing of him at site 65. Nathan Wayne had joined the executive team after proving himself capable of it where he would continue his studies on anomalous biochemistry. Since Nathan’s promotion to executive he had shown immense promise and he would go through months of working hard. Through his time as exec he would pick up on policies that were outdated and relationship issues between departments which would lead him to wanting to take the next step of research to Director of Research after a spot had opened up.
