Before Ted 'Buttons' Umber was a Dimensional Cartographer for Site-65, he was stationed at Site-13, and assigned the task of exploring Dr. Wondertainments new subdimension. Assigned with a team of Site-13 Cartographers and Research Personnel, the opening and stabilization of the entrance to Dr. Wondertainments' subdimension was secured and entered. The Exploration Team "Fun Slice", upon entering, had spotted large smoke towers, sounds of loud construction, and a two-lane road leading towards the sector. Whilst the team was walking down the road to the seemingly brand-new sector of Dr. Wondertainments' expansion of his subdimension. Due to previously known risks of sustained exploration, the team had prepared a miniature version of a Scranton Reality Anchor, each one being able to last for several days before it would lose power and shut off. Four hours into the mapping, Site-13 had reported major Kant Counter readings fluctuating from base to several thousand, whilst the portal was remaining open. This was considered a reasonable risk since if the team was cut off, the several miniature Scraton Reality Anchors could sustain them for about two weeks before they would all lose power. The area ahead of the road, which the team was calling the "Heavy Industrial Zone", occasionally had cars and large semi-trucks driving by, paying them no mind and not even slowing down. It was suspected that the Scraton Reality Anchors had been suppressing their presence in the subdimension and "hiding" them from the entities inside. They had reached the Heavy Industrial Zone without issues, besides the occasional rock flying by their face due to the force of the truck's tires on the broken concrete road.
Inside the Industrial Zone
Team "Fun Slice" had entered the Heavy Industrial Zone without issues, seemingly bypassing all security measures and gate checks. The Team Leader's Scranton Reality Anchor was draining at an increased rate, which he had reported to the Team Members, and back to Site-13 through their handheld radios. Whilst they walked through the sector, they reported on the new zone activity in the area, smelling of chemicals, smoke, ash, and gasoline/diesel fumes. There were smoke stacks on factories with ports for the semi-trucks to park and empty shipments of boxes, presumed to be either parts for toys or metal chunks for shaping. Whilst the team waited outside of one of these factories, waiting for approval from the head researcher in charge of the exploration. The Team Leader's scranton had turned off due to increased power use, and entering the factory was seemingly getting less and less possible as the first lifeline that was supposed to last them days barely lasted an hour inside the zone. Briefly, before they could turn on the sector Scranton Reality Anchor, a window of visibility formed, where cameras and entities saw the team. However, it seems there was nothing around at the time while they were at a back door to the factory, but a camera was facing them at the moment. Reporting of the possibility that they were spotted by a camera, they heard a blaring siren, whilst surprised, they looked around in the area to see if anything was approaching them. To their dismay, several entities in seemingly security uniforms were running towards the back of the facility, where they were stationed, with them imitating radio communication but no radios visible in their hands or on their body. The team leader called to get out of the zone as soon as possible, with the encroaching security force and alarms, but now the smells and sensations of the area had increased nearly three times what they had smelled before, and the guard checkpoints were closing all the fence gates. Time was not on their side, and the Site-13 personnel were trying to find ways to stabilize the entrance to the subdimension as the Kant Counter readings were now spiking only into the thousands, bubbles of dense reality were emitting from the entrance, and the smell of smog had begun to emanate from it as well. Their Scranton Reality Anchors are buying them only an hour or two if they had kept them all at optimal running conditions.
The Escape from Industrial Hell
Running towards their previous entrance, now fully shut and guarded by a fleshly humanoid entity holding an NES Light Gun, after studying the recording, it was assumed that the Light Gun was a separate instance of SCP-674. But with their 3rd Scranton Reality Anchor now only halfway through its power, it was only Ted's Scranton Reality Anchor left. Climbing the fence and dropping their old Scranton Reality Anchors behind to save on weight, the long walk back seemed to now be a long run back, as they began the run back, security trucks, helicopters, and quad bikes containing more of the fleshy humanoids searching for the reason of the alarm going off, they had to take a detour from the road and cut through the woods. Site-13's entrance portal is now forming shades of dark purple to light orange, and the smells are intensifying. The Exploration Leader at Site-13 stated they had 30 minutes to return to the entrance before they were forced to close the portal due to fears of reality destabilization or leakage. The woods around the Heavy Industrial Zone have grown thick with immense foliage and brush, making it an immense force to fight through. As they got further and further from the road, they could hear the ever-expanding portal back to Site-13 grow further in mass on the side in the subdimension. Making it easier to find their way back, but if they could hear it, the entities hunting them surely could have found it, given enough time. The final Scranton Reality Anchor is now being activated as the team b-lined for the exit, give hell or high water. The smell of smog even in the forest persisted and grew in stench, as if to push anything out at all costs. Thick branches, shrubs, and plants are all slowing down the team and their dwindling source of safety. Watching the helicopters fly overhead towards the exit only stole the ever-little hope from their hearts. Equipping several lightweight gas masks to try and quell the stench before it kills their nostrils or causes some form of lung cancer. The little time they had only saw the portal, spasm, and spit out bright beams of light, now nearly the size of one of the industrial factories. The entities were waiting at the exit, seemingly looking into it despite having no eyes or ears, in a form of a firing line; several SCP-674 instances raised. Risking to enter the surrounded exit back to Site-13 was a death wish, but the only way to get back to safety, so without checking equipment, the team sprinted towards the exit, Ted getting caught in a large shrub that blocked all visibility from the outside as the other members of the team ran inside, leaving Ted behind as the portal quick shrunk with a loud scraping sound. After the team was secured and quarantined inside cells to make sure no chemicals or biohazards from the subdimension had leaked in. The Team Leader of the Exploration is getting headcount and seeing Ted not with them. Talking with the other members of the exploration team, they had said they heard a tumble behind them as they ran in, but presumed it was Ted hitting a branch on his way. After the clearing of the team members of contaminants, it was presumed Ted was MIA and left inside the subdiemnsion. Till they could reasonably assume the suspicion of another exploration team entering without getting caught due to the raised alarms.
Expired Portal After Action
Several weeks later, after the incident involving the subdimension, Dr. Wondertainment had left an email directed towards Site-13's Site Director. The email said,
"Greetings, SCP Foundation.
I presume the alert in my Production Sector was because of your men at one of your sites deciding it was a good idea to snoop around private property uninvited and with seemingly easy access, bypassing security systems in the zone. It seems that it has caused one of our products to leak through the residual dimensional energy that whatever caused the portal to open at all was sloppy at best, and lucky it worked at all at worst. If you happen to see one of our products coming through or already in your sites, I suggest you inform me since you caused this mistake in the first place. I don't want to be enemies with one of our favorite sponsors.
Response Expected - Dr. Wondertainment."
The email had caused a site-wide search of anything that was not ordinary or already present before the subdimension was opened. General Security Personnel had found a large humanoid feline cat huddled in a storage container with the markings of several Dr. Wondertainment logos, production companies, and dates. When double checked with the records, the box was seemingly from several months in the future, with dates of Shipping 12/3/2030. Biological samples obtained from the feline had a mixture of human flesh, skin tissue, stuffing for plushies, human blood, and blood from the Lynx Canadensis species. Several physical checks were done on the presumed dead entity, finding out that it was in a state of extreme slumber. Upon awakening from its slumber due to a mixture of tuna from a can, a rat, and several varieties of meat, it screamed as if in extreme pain. Site staff called General Security to subdue and hold down the subject before it was placed in a humanoid containment cell located in Site-13. Interviews conducted with the entity and staff had revealed it to be the previously assumed MIA Ted 'Buttons' Umber. Recalling from when the portal to the subdimension had closed and from when he had arrived back in the site, it was an attempt to survive in the subdimension, feeding off plants, bark from the trees, and occasionally sneaking into the Heavy Industrial Zone to try and repair the Scranton Reality Anchor he had with him due to it receiving damage after a prolonged stay in the forests. He had survived several months before a worker had seen Ted sneaking around the inside of one of the factories, trying to find metal scrap and electronic components to repair the Scranton Reality Anchor. After being captured, he recalls a blur of working inside the factory, feeling his body morph and shift, slowly becoming part of the product he was making. After nearly 2 years of being in the Heavy Industrial Zone, he blacked out and woke up at the Site again. He claims he is of sound mind and health, but the medical staff at Site-13 had non-consistent reports during psychological evaluations, shifting from bleak distress and worry to glee and joy. Medical staff says it's part of the physical transformation into a semi-plush toy, and the stay in the subdimension that had caused it. Due to concern for his mental well-being and health, he was transferred from Site-13 to Site-65 by the Site-13 Medical Department's Director, with permission from the Site Director and Overwatch Command. Before being transferred, he was given basic cartography combat skills, rifle training, and handgun training. Overwatch Command sees a bit of irony in causing one of Dr. Wondertainment's experimental plushes to walk the dimensional line and fulfil his "purpose" after all.

Non-Related to Character
I know this might get denied, but I wanted to try a crack at this and see if I can push my writing talents a bit and give my character some depth instead of just "the character who just does his job." Feedback would be greatly appreciated, but I might take it the wrong way, so please be patient.
