Pair held the rank of Captain in MTF Beta-1 ("Cauterizers") which executed high-level internal security missions and political operations before joining the Intelligence Department. The Beta-1 operative was regularly assigned to missions against Groups of Interest like the Chaos Insurgency, Global Occult Coalition, and Marshall, Carter & Dark to protect Foundation secrets and prevent external threats from developing. His expertise in counterintelligence and tactical operations along with diplomatic coercion established him as a precise and trusted officer who managed the most sensitive and hazardous tasks.
Pair’s demonstrated proficiency in external threat management and intelligence collection resulted in an opportunity to join the Intelligence Department for expanded responsibilities. He stepped away from field command to become an Intel Ambassador because he valued strategic thinking over direct action. He investigated rumors about unusual activities while building informant networks and observed GOI movements to maintain the Foundation's strategic advantage against threats. His successful transition from military leadership to espionage and intelligence analysis increased his importance to the organization.
During his career trajectory, the Intelligence Department transformed and integrated itself into the Department of External Affairs (DEA) which handled GOI relationships and external security issues. Pair advanced to a leadership role where he managed strategic operations and diplomatic relations along with counter-GOI efforts worldwide because of his extensive background in tactical operations and intelligence work. He directed operations for multiple years that established the Foundation’s influence in the anomalous world by handling threats through diplomatic means or necessary use of force.
Pair decided to end his active service career following a lengthy period of outstanding achievements while working amid anomalies and secret missions. However, retirement didn’t last forever. The Foundation activated one of their top agents when seasoned field professionals were needed to combat growing external dangers. Pair rejoined active duty as a Special Agent and utilized his extensive background in military command, intelligence work, and GOI operations in the field. Back at the center of operations he applied his full knowledge to protect the Foundation's mission, which demonstrated that certain agents never really retire.

- The first one is to oversee the department and make sure that it is running well, and no one is doing stupid shit.
- Deal with surface threats like CI, GOC, and civilians that infobreach as well as surface scps.
- Training new agents. Special agents are the main people that approve people for DEA and therefore let people play in the department. They also train for interrogation/infiltration, which is an important thing.
- They also approve or deny permits for MC&D
