Yes, I have received one RDM ban on the day that I left the server. I had always followed the rules of the server during my playtime, but events at that time caused my judgement to become blurred. I decided to get myself banned because I wasn't happy with how things were being ran at the time. Now I am back with a fresh mindset and test the waters to see how everything is.

Why are you applying for Executive Researcher?

I am making my second official application to join the Executive Researcher team because I had enjoyed my experience working with the department two years ago. The first application I made can be referenced here, along with my Ethics Assistant Application. A lot of the stuff within the Research Department has changed since then, and I appreciate all of the new changes that had been made. Back when I was an executive, I made an attempt to help our DIR Lunaro alongside other Executives to fix and make proper changes that would help the roleplay perspective of the Research Department. There were many interesting interactions that I had with several other members of Research/Site Administration with the RP experience I have to offer. Several members in various positions outside of the research department have recognized me and have had pleasant conversations talking about all the new changes and funny shenanigans that had happened in the past.

What makes you suitable for Executive Researcher?:

My previous experience with being an Executive Researcher alongside with being an Ethics Assistant and dedication to an immersive RP experience will help the Research Department grow even further. I have intentions to help aspiring researchers want to create and conduct awesome experiments, similarly to how I was mentored back in the day.

How many excellent-graded documents have you written? What makes a document excellent?

I do not remember the exact number of documents made back in the day, however, I would say in total I have made 9-14 excellent graded documents. After my promotion to an Executive Researcher. On the subject of documentation, proper punctuation and spelling, organization/formatting, and comprehensive yet relevant information is key to the creation of excellent documentation. I am going to reiterate from my previous application with the following:

  • Proper punctuation and spelling allows individuals reading said document with ease, and adds clarity/precision to your writing. A lack of proper punctuation and spelling may confuse/disorientate the reader, and not give a proper emphasis when needed.
  • Comprehensive and relevant information will allow the individual reading your document process all information with ease and have the fundamental knowledge that is needed for your document. The relevant information within said document should always give insight to the main focuses of your paper, along with the key aspects that will support what you have written.
  • The last main key feature any document should have is proper formatting and organization. An excellent document will inevitably require a proper structure to allow the ease of processing information without jumping all over the place. An example would be to not start with one subject, proceed to change the subject, then go back to the original topic.
  • Other key features involve length of your paper (ensuring it is not too long, yet not too short), Accessability (ensuring everyone of all knowledge levels can read it) and finally, an overall impact on the individual reading it, allowing them to be inspired from what they saw.

What are the responsibilities of the Executive Researcher in RP?:

The role of an Executive Researcher is one that includes several major responsibilities, while ensuring that you uphold yourself in said prestigious role. Their first main priority is to be a supervisor for the Research Division. A respectable role model is of utmost importance to anyone who looks up to their leadership. The second priority is to uphold all standards and ethics of the foundation, and ensuring everyone else below them are doing the same. The third responsibility is to authorize proper tests that are requested by subordinates, and ensuring that the code of ethics is being properly maintained in said tests. Another important responsibility of an Executive Researcher is to work with other personnel in the different divisions to ensure a smooth workflow in foundation operations while maintaining safety.

Please give some lore about your Executive Researcher character and what storylines they would be involved in:

Maxwell Shepherd is a dedicated and loyal Senior Researcher of the SCP Foundation. Maxwell was born in Colts Neck, New Jersey on July 7th, 1989 to Evelyn and Dominic Shepherd. At a young age, Maxwell took an interest in wanting to find and understand the unexplained. In high school, Maxwell excelled in the field of mathematics and science, eventually graduating with high grades and applying to Thomas Jefferson University. After four years, he graduated with a Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.

After his graduation, he was approached by a private military contractor that required his expertise for weapon development. Maxwell began his career in the research and development of prototype weaponry that the company sold to agencies around the world. One of his assignment involved him overseeing a deal to an unknown buyer before being transferred to another research and development facility across the US. While Maxwell was in the process studying notes for a new potential weapon on the day of the meet, the convoy was ambushed by the Chaos Insurgency and was rendered unconscious after his vehicle was rammed off road.

Several days after the incident happened, he awoke in a medical room with a Foundation recruitment officer reviewing Maxwell's notes. Maxwell was offered a position as an intern for the SCP Foundation at Site-13, and worked there for several years. After some time working for the Foundation, he learned valuable skills and knowledge on various SCP Objects and the goals of the foundation, to which he learned to grow appreciation for the cause they had.

On one fateful day, the Director of Site-13 had written a transfer order to Site-65 along with a promotion to Junior Researcher for Maxwell, marking the first day of a bright future for his career in the foundation.

With the guidance of seasoned researchers, he began to conduct several important tests that allowed the Foundation to learn new discoveries about the contained SCPs via chemical research. To this day, he continues to work vigilantly in hopes to maintain the goals the foundation has set up for him.

S
hortly after his transfer to Site-65 from Site-13, Maxwell Shepherd was taken under the wing of a Senior Researcher working at the Site for quite some time. After some time, Maxwell received several promotions in quick succession for his overall support and dedication to the Foundation and his work at Site-65. One day, he was offered a position on the Executive Researcher Team after an evaluation report and interview by the Director of Research at the time. Maxwell graciously accepted the position and continued to dedicate his work for the research department.

Taking his experience from Site-13 and the protocols to heart, Maxwell became known for working closely with Internal Affairs with cracking down on conduct and Ethical violations on site, along with conducting and supervising very critical tests. As the days went by, more members of the Research Division began coming forward to Maxwell on advice and various test petitions.

One early morning, a mass breach occurred while all other Site Command members were off site with Maxwell taking the initiative to coordinate the breach. Maxwell worked with personnel on site to restore power to several key systems within the facility, along with the containment of one SCP. During the course of the breach, Maxwell witnessed several violations against the code of conduct and took note of them. Several hours after this incident, additional personnel arrived on site and took over the situation, successfully ending the situation. With the coordination of the site during the breach a minor success, Maxwell felt as if his expertise could benefit the foundation in other ways.

Maxwell was eventually accepted into the Ethics Committee as an assistant. He worked hard with the Committee to ensure that all ethics codes were being followed. He worked with Epsilon-11, and the Internal Affairs Division, now known as the Internal Security Department. After several months, Maxwell ended up resigning from his post as an assistant after several incidents had taken place pushed him to his limits. Maxwell requested a transfer to a different site, and was granted the request. He had kept in contact with several of his associates that he could call his friends, but kept working at an undisclosed location for the Foundation.

Until recently.

Maxwell was transferred back to Site-65 as per his request, and met a few of his fellow peers from all that time ago. He was astonished to see the new changes that had been made to the site. Now, Maxwell was filled with a new determination to continue his work, and ensuring the continued prosperity of the Foundation.
