What can you bring to the Global Occult Coalition:
I carry with me a positive mindset, good roleplay capabilities and strong combative ability's. While I have much experience with combative roles on this server, I enjoy fun and compelling roleplay just as much; being able to think quickly and creatively. I am always open to working together, fostering communication as a team and doing whatever is necessary to accomplish the task at hand. As a former B-1 I also carry with me a lot of relevant experience with Surface RP. Having spent most of my time on the server in MTF's and being a former E-11, I also bring with me valuable surface combat experience and familiarity in fighting and containing Paranormal threats, something that I could only see as a benefit for the GOC.
Why do you want to join the Global Occult Coalition?:
I am interested in the Global Occult Coalition mainly due to the Roleplay capabilities it has. The GOC in comparison with others on the server is a much more roleplay driven group, something that highly interest me. When I first started playing the server, I wasn't too sure what to make of the GOC and was a bit intimidated by the requirements necessary to get in it. All that changed however when I started interacting with them more when I was in B-1. Back when I was in B-1, I would have to escort the GOC through the facility often; allowing me be able to better understand them and how they operate. I was honestly really impressed with the devotion people in the GOC had to their Roles and RP and knew that they were a group that I'd eventually want to become a part of. The GOC as a group has a really unique position in the RP of the server alongside a good mix between roleplay and combat, something that I absolutely love to be able to be a part of.
Why was the Global Occult Coalition founded?:
The Global Occult Coalition was founded by the UN in aftermath of WWII and the Seventh Occult War. Their purpose is to keep the world safe and protect humanity from paranormal threats. Like the Foundation, they will do whatever it takes to keep the world safe, but, in contrast to how the Foundation looks to secure and contain paranormal entities/threats, the GOC looks to neutralize or destroy them completely.
What does the PHYSICS, PSYCHE, and PTOLEMY Divisions specialize in and give an example of some functions they do:
-PHYSICS: The Physics division of the GOC is the action portion of the coalition. They focus their efforts on investigating, capturing and neutralizing paranormal threats out in the field. They are mainly composed of strike and assessment teams and work in a way most similarly to that foundation MTF's.
-PSYCHE: The Psyche division of the GOC is the diplomatic section of the coalition. Their main job is to maintain relations with the other various paranormal organizations in the world, like the foundation, CI, MCD so on and so forth. They consist of special observers and ambassadors.
-PTOLEMY: The Ptolemy division is support division of the coalition. They are in charge of supporting the other divisions so that they can accomplish their missions. This includes research and development of the paranormal. They manage a variety of things, from maintaining logistics and supply to developing new weapons for operatives out in the field.
What Are the Global Occult Coalitions' goals?:
-Survivability: The GOC has to protect the human race against all paranormal threats, this is the highest priority amongst the GOC's goals and take precedence over the other four goals.
-Concealment: The GOC has to keep the knowledge of paranormal threats secret. If the general public were to become aware of the nature of the paranormal, mass panic and civil upheaval would occur in every nation on earth.
-Protect: The GOC always tries to protect all human life for the greater good, both operatives and civilians, whenever possible, as long as it does not go against the first two previous statements.
-Destruction: The GOC should not take any risk in the disposing and destroying of the paranormal. The very existence of the paranormal presents itself as a threat to all human life.
-Education: The GOC should always be trying to learn as much as it can about the nature of the paranormal, and should study it as long as it does not go against the four previous goals
Please explain The Seventh Occult War:
The Seventh Occult war was a clandestine shadow war fought alongside WWII. It was fought between the the Allied Occult Initiative (The Previous name of the GOC) and the German Obskura corps. The Obskura corps sought to employ SCP-3457 to eliminate the thaumaturgic abilities of individuals not of German origin, as part of their quest to establish a superior Germanic race. They also intended to grant occult powers to members of organizations affiliated with the German government, including the Obskura corps, SS, and Nazi High Command. Thanks to the efforts of the Foundation and the AOI, the attempt to employ SCP-3457 was foiled, and the Obskura corps were defeated, bringing an end to the Seventh Occult War. After this conflict, the Foundation and AOI signed the Köln Agreement, which established the current containment procedures for SCP-3457.
What makes the Global Occult Coalition different in in-comparison to the other groups within the SCP-universe in your view?:
The GOC has the unique position within the SCP universe as the only major player within the various anomalous groups thats main objective is to destroy paranormal threats/entities. This sets them apart from groups like the Foundation or MC&D who would much rather secure and contain the paranormal. This sets the GOC apart from the others and offers interesting perspective that is different than what were used to seeing within the universe. There are countless examples in the lore of people utilizing anomalous entities for their benefit, while in stark contrast the GOC is keen in wiping them off the face of the earth in order to protect humanity.

Raphael Santos was born on February 14th, 1993, in the town of La Rosa, located in the Philippines. The child of two soldiers he was the son of a Filipino father and an American Woman who was enlisted in the Navy at the time. He moved to the Miami, Florida in 2004 at the age of 11, when his mother retired from active-duty. He grew up in a multilingual household speaking both his father's native tongue, Tagalog and English, but managed to pick up Spanish as well once he moved to the US. Growing up, Santos grew up in a devoutly Catholic household was a curious and adventurous child. He would go on to take a keen interest in social sciences, from foreign language to history and was a gifted, albeit mischievous child. He was fascinated by the stories his parents told him about their own experiences in the military, being able to travel and see the world, and he knew from a young age that he wanted to follow in their footsteps.
He enlisted in the Marines 3 months after graduating high school in 2011 and was assigned MOS 0311 Basic Rifleman. He would serve one six-month tour in Afghanistan in 2012 before returning home for some time. He would eventually qualify for MARSOC (Marine Special Operations Command) and became a an operative for the newly revived Marine Raider regiment in 2014, specializing in unconventional warfare tactics. He would go on to serve two more tours of duty in Afghanistan, in 2015 and 2017, where he saw firsthand the horrors of war and the sacrifices that soldiers had to make in order to keep the peace.
He would leave the Marines in 2018 after an anomalous incident occurred during his third tour on [Data Expunged]/2017 that led him to become the sole survivor of his squad. In a small village roughly 40 miles outside of Kabul, Santos and his squad became entangled in a 3 way firefight between themselves, 17 Taliban insurgents and 3 operatives sent from the Horizon Initiative (HI).
The 3 HI operatives were sent in to retrieve a paranormal bracelet from the Taliban, once the possession of a Islamic Iman during the Umayyad Caliphate. The bracelet, in the possession of the Insurgent leader, was capable of giving the wearer the ability to exert control over any individuals not subscribed to an abrahamic religion. It also had the addition effect of enhancing the wearers durability and strength with every soul it took control of, causing the wearer to glow increasingly golden and giving those under its control glowing golden eyes.
Negotiations between the initiative and the insurgents broke down leading to a fire fight breaking out, right as Santo's squad had made it into the village. Santos's squad was ordered to do a routine bag and grab in the area with MARSOC having no idea about the paranormal nature of the insurgents. Having spent years bearing witness to the horrors of war, many of Santos squad had lost their faith and fell victim to the bracelets effect, turning on one another with glowing golden eyes. Santos, still a devout Catholic at this point, was immune to the bracelets effect. 23 Minutes after the Bracelet was first used by Taliban leader, Santos walked out alone from the house his squad was taking cover in, and began assisting the two remaining Initiative operatives in combating the insurgents.
By the time the GOC arrived, 39 minutes after the bracelet was first activated, all remaining combatives were dead, except for Santos, who was found unconscious, gripping the bracelet with his hand, not more than 2 yards away from the dead body of the insurgent leader. The village at this point was giving off both strong thaumaturgical and hume readings. The GOC took control of the situation and took Santo's into custody. Once he awoke in the Hospital, Santos was able to recount most of the incident, but claims he can't recall what happened after one of Initiative operatives pulled a book out of his bag and began to read from it. It is unknown at this time if this is the truth or is Santo's is just hiding something about that day. All three bodys of the Horizon Initiatives operators were found at the scene, but no books were found on their person. It is speculated at this time the book in Santos's report was paranormal in nature and may of dematerialized after use.
After being medically discharged from the Coalition's care, instead of being amnesticized and put back into the general public, he was instead offered a the opportunity to join the GOC due to his experience in combating the paranormal. Santo's accepted the offer and was sent to boot camp at [Data Expunged], but has now been noted as having ditched his Catholic faith entirely. Despite being relatively young still, Santo's leadership capabilities and combat IQ more than make up for it.
