Helios. Surya. Inti. Utu. Amaterasu. Sol. Nyambe.
The sun goes by many names across time and culture. The giver and enabler of life, the great ball of fire that allows all to live on our planet.
The 'Sun God' is an unknown anomalous creature that only appears when large cultures worship the sun as a living being with physical form. This anomaly. although being incredibly difficult to summon, possesses very little power over our reality. It grants a singular wish to the one who rallied their culture most, worshiped it most frequently, and believed in it most fervently. These wishes are granted to the best of its ability.
Notable summonings of this anomaly are as follows;
- The Mayan Long Count Calendar
This calendar was given to the Mayans, who wanted to forsee into the future. While eroded when found in the modern era, it predicted great floods, droughts, wars, and other historical data that would help the Mayans persevere over their enemies. However, the anomaly could only see so far into the future as 12/21/2012. This brought the Mayans into a panic, believing the end of the world to be closer than they expected. This panic contributed to their eventual downfall.
- Krakatoa
The Sundanese people of the Sundan Straight wanted holy fire to rain down upon their enemies. The anomaly, ignoring the last portion of their wish, set off the volcano of Krakatoa. This is the last known 'miracle' performed by the anomaly.
- Immortality
The pharoah Ra, the first leader of the ancient Egyptians, summoned the anomaly with the wish for grand powers and eternal life. The anomaly granted his wishes in two parts; firstly, he combined with Ra to form a psuedo-diety figure that led Egypt for ten generations before perishing. Secondly, the anomaly granted his wish for immortality by passing on his memories to his firstborn son. This line has continued for thousands of years, but at a great cost. The influx of old memories has left his newest generations braindead by the age of 30, their subconcious brain unable to hold countless years of fragmented memory.
The members of this bloodline are marked with symbol of their ancestor; a scarab in flight, encased by the ouroboros.
Viktor is an average build male, age 25, currently stationed at Site-65.
After years of work as a General Security Captain, and thousands of kills under his belt, his tatoo appeared. Perhaps due to his age, his bloodlust, or his apathy for human life, he started to be plagued with dreams of his bloodline. Ancient wars with bodies piled across a sandy sea of blood. Visions of knights and kingdoms long gone. Visions of his great grandfather, charging the beaches of Europe. Retold stories of his grandfather in Vietnam, the feeling of anxiety in the underbrush coursing through his veins.
Viktor's view towards others has always been harsh. Empathy for some, and rage for others. Thousands of years of hardship and war within his brain, he is completely desensitized to death. This can cause serious issues for both himself and those around him, as everyone are just pawns waiting to be used to achieve a grander goal. His own life is even undervalued, constantly running towards danger as though he himself is infallible, or perhaps just unvaluable.
Viktor's story is not soley his own. He carries the weight of hundreds upon his back, as his father did before him, and his father before him. He is not fully aware of his condition, or why strange markings have appeared on his chest. He does not feel the urgency or what is to come, nor does he understand the villainy he is capable of when not even his fellow man matters in his eyes.
