What makes you the best candidate for Ethics Committee Assistant?:
- I am the best candidate for ECA due to my wealth of experience within the ethics department. Even though my direct ethics experience could be seen as out dated now, I have made an effort to relearn all the updated standards and procedures since my return and I believe that my previous experience will do nothing but extend my capabilities as an ECA now. Since I was on the committee in the past, I will at least know what is expected of an ECA when it comes to handling myself and the assigned duties while on site. I am also an extremely quick learner, so picking up on the new methods and rules will be no problem at all! Additionally, I love to interact, RP, and help others so being able to use a position such as ECA will give the ability to do all of that at a higher level. And finally, I see myself committing to ethics long term again, meaning I will be working hard to progress as an ECA into the committee again one day. So, if this app doesn't make it I will surely apply again!
What are the responsibilities of Ethics Committee Assistants in RP?:
- The duties of an ECA within RP are to complete tasks delegated by Ethics Members, help site personnel with ethical issues and questions, authorize AA during large breaches, assist internal security with ethics violations, help handle D-Class work permits, help to ensure our departments are running smoothly, and etc.
Please give some lore about your Ethics Committee Assistant character and what storylines they would be involved in:
- Combat Medic Zach 'BUB' was brought into the foundation after 8 years of excellent service in the US Navy as a field medic. When entering the foundation, he was selected to be apart of the elite team of combat medics at Site 65. His love for medicines and providing aid to those wounded in combat made him strive for saving as many people as possible during any situation on site. Zach would patrol around the facility attempting to help everyone in sight, and protecting those injured during combat. Despite facing down SCPs, CI, D-Class, or rouge foundation members if it meant saving one more life it was worth it. As time went on, Zach started to notice a common trend leading to near death or fatal experiences, ethics violations. Researches and other site staff ignoring the code of ethics just for "one more sample" or some other trivial excuse piled up the bodies quicker then most breaches. This lead Zach to explore whatever route was possible to help solve this issue so that he could save the lives of personnel in Site 65. This lead him to the path of the Ethics Committee, and reasonable the path of a Committee Assistant. Even though the life style and duties of an assistant were greatly different from his duties as a combat medic, Zach knew this was his only path to solving the problems he saw.
Zach plans so much for his time in Ethics, but the most important thing is the preservation of life. Helping uphold the rules set forth by Ethics, and assisting the Committee is just the first step in this plan. Getting to work hand and hand with the Committee to help them protect the foundation from crazed personnel only worried about their bottom line will be the growing experience Zach needs, and an experience Zach needs to bring faith back that the foundation has standards. We don't just kill be cause we can or because its coinvent, we should only be taking the life of a human if its critical to the future. Sometimes sacrifices have to be made, but those sacrifices shouldn't be at the whim of some crazy researcher that just wants his report to look complete or some MTF trying to craft performance enhancing drugs. We at the SCP foundation, and important at Site 65, should be upholding a good and just standard for all our personnel. The code of ethics is a key part of that standard and to ensure we maintain some level of morality. Though Zach's faith may be waning after all he has seen, he knows through hard work helping the Ethics Committee that the site can improve for the better.
