What can you bring to the Global Occult Coalition: Through my experiences within Alpha-1, CI, And DEA I learnt how to make activities for enlisted/NCOs to enjoy on off hours (The time I'm usually on the server) be that internal wargames, trainings or assisting them learning elements of the server that they could have less experience in. During my previous time in GOC I would make sure that the civilian groups (Parawatch and Rangers) were staying out of harms way as dictated in the third mission, Sweeping the surface in case KTE or UTEs are found.
Why do you want to join the Global Occult Coalition?: One of the parts that always entices me towards GOC is protecting civilians (Be that Parawatch, Rangers or even a random Chef) as someone who originally started the server predominately on these roles it feels as if there is little to no interact with any faction while playing civilian roles on surface, the most you get is watching a firefight from a distance, you might rarely get abduction by CI after they capture a 008 syringe, or a DEA agent walks up to you takes your disguise then silently walks away.
In a perfect world GOC would talk to these players, maybe giving supplies to Chef players to assist them in cooking, or alongside with surface medics opening the surface medical clinic to treat those who are wounded and stopping Foundation and CI from taking advantage of them.
GOC should be taking reports from those they serve to protect, Making sure that the gameplay loop for civilian players is safe and fluid as possible.
Previously it felt as if GOC was a sub splinter of foundation at times, but friends with CI at others, Unlike how some people treat it, GOC should be its own group, Dealing with CI who are a terrorist organization and scrutinizing the foundation when their improper methods of stopping anomalies fail, GOC should have more than "lets see what foundation wants to do"
Why was the Global Occult Coalition founded?: The GOC was originally founded during WW2 for the Allies to have a reliable unit to combat the Occult groups of the Axis from using paranormal items and entities against them. The years after WW2 had concluded lead the GOC to be utilized by the United Nations for all presumed anomalous threats around the world, Suppressing and destroying anything that they believe could harm humanity.
What does the PHYSICS, PSYCHE, and PTOLEMY Divisions specialize in and give an example of some functions they do:
-PHYSICS are the general combative force within the GOC, All GOC operatives are trained in combat however members of PHYSICS specialize in it, these members will attempt to engage hostile parathreats in combat in an attempt to destroy them.
-PSYCHE are the external ambassadors of the GOC, Making sure that there is proper communication between the GOC and other parties which might try to involve themselves with paranormal threats that are discovered. PSYCHE are also the group that will contact groups in situations where another member of the GOC has been kidnapped or taken hostage, making deals to return their operatives.
-PTOLEMY are the backbone of the GOC, making sure that all stationed operatives equipment is in good condition while making sure they are in physically good condition, The Quartermasters of PTOLEMY make sure that all operatives have their correct standard issued equipment, while also making sure that it is kept in working condition,
The Chefs of the PTOLEMY division make sure all operatives are fed, but will also assist in humanitarian efforts outside of their FOB to make sure that civilians have access to clean drinking water and nourishing food.
The Medical division of PTOLEMY makes sure that operatives are cleared for any assignment, Checking them for wounds and evaluating their mental statuses to ensure that they can complete their tasks effectively, They assist the Chefs in making sure that the general population around the FOB has access to medical personal to prevent unnecessary death and improve the lives of those in their area.
however PTOLEMY also encompasses the Research and Development section of the GOC, which works with low threat anomalies which they believe can assist humanity, The research that members of PTOLEMY do assists the UN in deciding if certain anomalies should be kept instead of being destroyed.
What are the Global Occult Coalition's goals?: The overarching goal of the GOC is to ensure that humanity survives against all known and unknown paranormal threats, The main way they do this is by prioritizing the Fivefold mission.
-The first priority of the GOC is the survival of humanity above all else, The GOC stands against the anomalous threats that are known or ones that have yet to be discovered to ensure that humanity will see another day.
-The second priority that the GOC undertakes is the concealment of knowledge related to anomalous threats, they do this to prevent mass panic and to make it more difficult for groups to find and use anomalies against the general populace. The less information that these groups have the safer humanity is as a whole.
-The third priority of the GOC is to protect individual humans whenever possible, There will be situations where its impossible to save someone, However if its possible in anyway to save someone the GOC should work to do so.
-The Fourth Priority is to make sure parathreats can't harm humanity by destroying hostile anomalies whenever possible, Despite the risk it might have to operatives of the GOC they should strive to terminate or destroy threats when possible.
-The last priority of the GOC makes sure that correct logs and records of threats are taken, this is to make sure if the threat were to come back the organization will have the correct information to deal with it with as little casualties as possible.
What makes the Global Occult Coalition different in comparison to the other groups within the SCP-universe in your view?: From all currently presented groups on the SCP wiki GOC has to be my favorite, instead of attempting to restrain anomalies for their own benefit be that making them into weapons like The Chaos Insurgency or attempting to sell them to the highest bidder like Marshall Carter and Dark, The UNGOC has one goal, To make sure that there are no hostile anomalous threats to harm humanity, instead of risking containment like the SCP foundation they destroy harmful threats with whatever they have at their disposal.
The way groups work within the the SCP universe have little consistency between different pieces, in some interpretations the Chaos Insurgency is practically a hivemind connected by "the engine" or Serpents hand being a group of anomalies themselves instead of only utilizing anomalous items to achieve their goals.
The GOC is almost only written in one way, They will sacrifice members of other Groups to ensure that their operatives can continue to liquidate KTEs, that could be waiting until the Chaos insurgency has almost fully secured a threat before gunning their operatives down from a far, or waiting until the foundation has shown that their methods of containment are flawed and capturing the threat after it breaches containment, Their goal is always making sure that these threats have no way to continue to pester humanity.
