Your in-game name: Pollastre (civilnetworks.net)
Your SteamID: STEAM_0:1:207375780
Your steam community link: https://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198375017289
Date of ban: 10/5/2022 (October 5th, 2022)
What is your exact ban reason (shows when you try to connect): ' Posting IP grabber links In OOC'
Who banned you: Wade Watty(STEAM_0:0:195735014)
Ban length?: 3 days
What server were you banned on?: (SCP-RP UK or SCP-RP USA): SCP-RP USA
Link a copy of the in-game rules here (the url): https://www.civilgamers.com/community/threads/scp-rp-rules.2244/
What will you do to stop this from happening again:
I will not post anything to do with IP grabbers again, whether it is a link that will actually grab someone's IP, or a link to the homepage of an IP grabber website (one that wont grab someone's IP), or anything of the sort. I will also take extreme caution in what links I put in the chat.
Prior to this, have you ever been warned/kicked/banned: No.
Why should you be unbanned:
I think I should be unbanned because the link I sent ("https://www.grabify.link" nothing after it. can be verified either by server chat logs, or my personal recording) was not a link that would actually grab someones IP, but the homepage to an IP grabber website. I completely understand this not being allowed, as I understand not wanting anything close to an actual IP grabber in chat, whether it'd grab someones IP or not. Despite this, I think I should've been given a warning or similar, since this link is not a link that would actually grab someone's IP when clicked, so I don't think this should've been treated with similar severity to someone posting a link that would actually grab someone's IP address.

For context, I had just linked someone in chat the cooking spreadsheet, and as usual, everyone reacted by saying "ip grabber" in chat. As a joke, I posted the homepage to an IP grabber website in the chat. This joke was not thought through well, and I understand afterwords that I shouldn't have done this. I did not have any malicious intent when posting the link. I will make sure that in the future, I do no such thing, and will be more careful about what I post in chat, and what I do on the server in general. Not sure if possible, but if staff would consider turning this ban into a chat mute for X days / X weeks (since the link wasn't actually malicious, but still could've made people feel unsafe) I'd be completely on board with that. Not sure if its an option though.
If you want me to elaborate on anything I've written here, or provide additional evidence of the incident, feel free to ask.
How can you ensure that you won't break any other rule?:
I can ensure that I won't break any other rules in the future with constant caution, and ensuring I am thinking about what I am doing at all times.
Why do you want to rejoin this server?:
To put it shortly, I want to rejoin the server because during my time playing on this server I've greatly enjoying role-playing and just overall interacting with the community. This is the only gmod server I really play, and if I'm allowed to rejoin I'll be able to continue to enjoy those things and be an active member of the community again, taking caution to ensure that this incident and / or anything similar doesn't repeat.

Ah yeah, I see where you're coming from that it might give other people the idea to post IP grabbers. I personally think since the link wasn't actually malicious, and only gave other people the idea to post such links, it could've gone with a lesser punishment. Once again, totally see your side though! (Sorry if this came across as rude, I am very bad with tone in text)
