For how long have you played on CG SCP: I began playing the server around 2 years ago, with several months of total playtime.

Age: 17

In what country are you located?: Australia

Time zone: AEST (GMT+10)

Character name(s): Barney "Chef"

Civilian name: Barney "Nuts"

What server are you applying for? (SCP-RP UK or SCP-RP USA): SCP-RP USA

Do you have a mic?: Yes

List all whitelisted, MTF, or CI roles that you hold or have held:
- DEA Sr. Agent (holding)
- Overseer Assistant (held)
- Gensec Captain (held)
- IA Ambassador (held)
- E-11 CSG (held)
- Nu-7 SPC (held)
- CI-B (held)

Have you received any kicks/bans/warning? and why?:
While I am unable to verify the exact number of warns, I do recall acquiring a notable amount during my very first leave from the server, primarily for FailRP, as well as a ban for RDM, as a result of my immature attitude which had since shifted following my re-integration to the Civil Networks community. I have not acquired any new warnings for around 6 months.

[IN-CHARACTER SECTION]

Why are you applying for Medical Consultant?:
Over the past several weeks, I have been on-site as a Senior Doctor almost every day, and being able to deliver aid to the many diverse people of our Foundation has provided me with much satisfaction and contentment. I have spent a sizeable amount of time experimenting with the many activities the Medical Department has to offer, such as producing various medicines through our chemical system, conducting Psychiatric Evaluations and assisting those with fractured bones or illnesses, all of which bring me significant enjoyment. I believe I can enhance the capabilities of the Medical Department with my skillset and knowledge, and would like to apply for the position of Consultant to act as a beacon of assistance, as somebody able to help my peers within the department with their duties as well as introducing new people into our profession, through the granting of Medical Licenses. Furthermore, the acquisition of this position will help me conduct more advanced medical procedures that require sensitivity and experience, a responsibility I believe I am capable of undertaking.

In addition, due to my timezone, I believe my presence within the Medical Department can be of especially significant benefit, given the lack of Medical Consultants that are active during the site's "night hours". Clearance 4 personnel are often understandably lacking in numbers during these times, which can lead to instability within the site, as up to 100 people may still be actively operating during this period. This issue is further aggravated by the rise of D-class personnel seeking work in Medbay, when there often isn't anybody able to help them. I aim to relieve some of this pressure within the department, allowing for a point of contact within Medical Leadership at all times of the day.

What makes you suitable for Medical Consultant?:
Having had several Clearance Level 4 roles with a variety of responsibilities, I am confident in my ability to carry out the difficult duties needed of a Medical Consultant to the highest standard. I am highly proficient in all Medical-related endeavours, with experience in treating fractures, infectious diseases, mental-health related matters with additional experience in the production of pharmaceuticals. I can apply my considerable expertise in writing detailed documentation gained from experience as both an Assistant and a former Lead Ambassador for Internal Affairs—to the spectrum of responsibilities assigned to a Medical Consultant. For example, as an Ambassador, I laid the groundwork for the initial Internal Affairs training programme that was put into place in August of 2022. Since then, it has grown to become a crucial component of the department's operations. Additionally, the role of Assistant required frequent interviews, department surveys and investigations, strengthening my knowledge on effective informative writing and formatting. I have reinforced this claim through the submission of my most recent Psychiatric Evaluation, graded "excellent" within SCIPNET.

I am aware of the standards that Clearance 4 Personnel are held to, and I promise to carry out any directive given to me by my respective superiors with the highest level of competence. In addition, the collective experience from my previous CL4 positions has influenced my personal presentation, which is characterised by extreme professionalism, maturity, and dedication. This conduct will remain in place regardless of whether this application is advanced further. Furthermore, the leadership skills I have acquired from said positions will allow me to effectively coordinate the department and direct our personnel towards relevant goals.

On an equally important note, I believe that sustained activity on-site from holders of Clearance 4 positions is of the upmost importance, and I will ensure that I adhere to every standard of activity without question. As an Australian member of the community, my activity may appear to be limited to some, as I am not seen frequently throughout the day time. This argument can be easily countered as I have been on-site almost every day for the past two weeks (as shown in VTime), albeit at different times to most individuals. Because there is a ~10hr difference between my timezone (AEST) and most US timezones, I am required to perform my duties primarily throughout the nighttime and early morning.

Please explain an in-game medical procedure of your choice:
Fractured limbs are a common injury sustained in the many lines of work the Foundation is involved in, and it is important to address them quickly to ensure an effective healing process and a quick return to work. There are several steps to resolve a fracture, and are listed as follows:
  1. Diagnosis. First, you must diagnose the patient. It is fairly easy to diagnose a fracture based on obvious factors (unable to run, unable to switch items).
  2. Location. It is insistent that you use the scanner located in Medbay to properly determine the exact location of the fracture. The patient will lay on the scanner and the screen will then display its source (note that the image is facing you!).
  3. Cure. To create a fracture cure, you must access the "!medic" command, while standing near a medical cabinet.
    • Spawn an empty drug pot and beaker from the category listed "Entities"
    • In the category listed "Test Tubes" spawn the relevant dosage of calcium for the fractured limb.
    • Place the test tube into the beaker, and add the beaker to the drug pot, creating the medicine.
  4. Consume. Instruct the patient to consume the cure, they may be released if all issues have been resolved.

What are the responsibilities of the Medical Consultant in RP?:
The Medical Consultant serves as a senior member of the Medical Department, and is responsible for the management of all personnel within the Department. They oversee and coordinate personnel, assisting them in various matters and providing guidance to anybody who may require it. Consultants are given certain duties to undertake, such as the training of Medical Trainees who may require their Medical License. They are able to perform advanced medical procedures typically unavailable to other Medical staff, and are often trusted with more sensitive assignments. A Medical Consultant usually possesses a specialisation, with Psychology, Pharmaceuticals and Physiology as examples.

Please give some lore about your Medical Consultant character and what storylines they would be involved in:
Barney "Chef" is an ex-member of the Australian Army Intelligence Corps, who performed extensive reconnaissance work on several high-ranking individuals within the Taliban Armed Forces and Ministerial Leadership. Barney has a passion for cooking, he began his work as a Security Cadet, while taking on part time volunteer work at the D-Block Cafeteria. Barney strongly believes in the importance of ethics, and has always treated everyone he meets with this in mind, including the D-class he cooks for. Barney was first introduced into the SCP Foundation through his friend; a senior member and ex-leader of the now disbanded Intelligence Department at Site-65, whom had contacted him regarding a lucrative and highly rewarding job opportunity.

Following a few weeks of supervised general duties work as a Security Cadet, Chef was promoted to Officer, brandishing his new, shiny green keycard. This promotion opened a gateway to a plethora of new opportunities within the foundation. Barney wasn't very receptive to the idea of standing at Heavy Containment Zone Checkpoint for hours on end, so instead of a position in the Mobile Task Forces, Barney opted for something more demanding yet safe, hence his successful application into the Internal Affairs Department as an Operative. Barney immediately began to adopt the new working style of an Agent, and put his best foot forward to make a good impression for himself. Feeling happier than ever, he had found his place.

Fast forward several months, Chef had made a name for himself as one of the Internal Affairs Ambassadors, and he continued to work hard and marvel at his transformation from a Security Cadet to one of those "people with the cool-looking red keycards". Chef continued to work part-time in the kitchen, during which times he ███████████████████████████. Unfortunately, during this time, Barney "Chef" was critically injured in the line of duty, following a vicious attack during which he was stabbed several times by a rogue Tech Expert, causing substantial brain and leg injuries as well as the destruction of his entire career. Sure enough, Chef was held in the facility's Medbay indefinitely, awaiting treatment and recovery.

One day, all alone in Chef's office, he wo-

Fast forward (another) several months, Chef has mostly recovered from his injuries, apart from a minor reduction in brain activity. From his time in his medical ward, he encountered a number of friendly medical staff, whom he got to know better and better as time progressed. After taking a liking to the functions of the department responsible for treating him, he decided to undertake a course in Paramedicine, hoping he could do the same for others as what they had done for him. After a year on assignment as a trainee, Chef was finally granted his Medical License and became a well-respected doctor, responsible for the treatment of Infectious Diseases. Despite all the rumours that he "appeared out of nowhere" and was "never seen before", one must rest assured that this is NOT the case, and Chef had indeed undergone all the relevant training within this timeframe, as opposed to operating as a personal assistant to the O██████████l!

Barney "Chef"
