Barney "Chef" | Security Captain Application

Steam ID: STEAM_0:0:53115357

Discord name: Barney on Meth#0170

For how long have you played on CG SCP: I began playing the server mid last year, with roughly a month of actual playtime.

Age: 17

In what country are you located?: Australia

Time zone: AEST (GMT+10)

Character name(s): Barney "Chef"

Civilian name: Barney "Nuts"

What server are you applying for? (SCP-RP UK or SCP-RP USA): SCP-RP USA

Do you have a mic?: Yes

List all whitelisted, MTF, or CI roles that you hold or have held: Internal Affairs Ambassador (ex), E-11 PVT (ex).

Have you received any kicks/bans/warning? and why?:
While I am unable to verify the exact number of warns, I do recall acquiring a notable amount during my leave from the server, primarily for FailRP, as well as a ban for Mass RDM, as a result of my immature attitude which has since shifted following my re-integration to the Civil Networks community.

Why are you applying for Security Captain?:
After deciding to make a full return to the SCP-RP server a few weeks ago, I believe that I have settled in comfortably enough to attempt to advance myself within the GSD Chain of Command, doing so to reinforce my experience in several spheres such as combat and leadership, which I believe time in the General Security Department will ensure. As an Australian member of the community, I often find myself playing during the server's night hours, which usually sustain a reasonable activity of 60-70 players at a time, making for a lively yet sometimes unconstrained site. As I have seen evident across countless days, is that despite the active playerbase during these hours, the lack of supervisory personnel, especially within entry-level departments such as GenSec, often makes for a chaotic situation, especially in D-block. I aim to prevent this issue through ensuring that GenSec have an effective role-model and guide to both assist as well as lead them in their challenging line of work.

For the sake of clarity, I must re-iterate; my presence on the server to some may seem limited, and while I understand the concern, I can assure you that activity will not be an issue and that I have maintained server playtime every day for the past two weeks. I am physically unable to play for a chunk of the server's "peak time", solely due to the immense time zone difference, however I have and will continue to operate on-site within a reasonable timeframe for myself. I hope this helps clear up any confusion if I haven't been seen on by as many people.

What makes you suitable for Security Captain?:
I am normally thought of as a cool-headed individual with the capacity to act seriously and professionally when called upon. I am honest and caring to my colleagues and have an unbreaking determination to any role I am appointed to. I always do my best to abide by the Foundation's Code of Ethics when on duty, and I'll make sure that each assignment I'm given is finished on time and to the highest possible standard. I possess extensive experience as a Level-4 personnel, having served as the Head Ambassador for Internal Affairs over a period of several months during which time I greatly furthered my experience in leadership and strategic planning. I believe despite the many changes undergone to various aspects of the site over the duration of my leave, I have adapted quickly and steadfast to said changes, and can apply my newfound and previous knowledge to a job such as General Security Captain.

What are the responsibilities of the Security Captain in RP?:
The ultimate responsibility of a GSD Security Captain is to ensure that the security detail on-site is functional and operating within given standards. Captains often coordinate security actions across the site where it is needed, an example being to initiate a sweep of D-block if a Code 2 is deemed too difficult to handle externally, or for other reasons that may apply. Captains should regularly host license trainings for licenses relevant to the department, such as the Riot Control License and the Heavy Weapons License. It is essential that Captains maintain a strong sense of leadership and professionalism to effectively perform their duties as needed. Finally, Security Captains should be encouraged to go out of their way to educate new members of Security Staff and act as a point of contact should any member of GenSec need assistance with the performance of their duties.

Please give some lore about your Security Captain character and what storylines they would be involved in:
Barney "Chef" is an ex-member of the Australian Army Intelligence Corps, who performed extensive reconnaissance work on several high-ranking individuals within the Taliban Armed Forces and Ministerial Leadership. Barney has a passion for cooking, he began his work as a Security Cadet, while taking on part time volunteer work at the D-Block Cafeteria. Barney strongly believes in the importance of ethics, and has always treated everyone he meets with this in mind, including the D-class he cooks for. Barney was first introduced into the SCP Foundation through his friend; a senior member and ex-leader of the now disbanded Intelligence Department at Site-65, whom had contacted him regarding a lucrative and highly rewarding job opportunity.

Following a few weeks of supervised general duties work as a Security Cadet, Chef was promoted to Officer, brandishing his new, shiny green keycard. This promotion opened a gateway to a plethora of new opportunities within the foundation. Barney wasn't very receptive to the idea of standing at Heavy Containment Zone Checkpoint for hours on end, so instead of a position in the Mobile Task Forces, Barney opted for something more demanding yet safe, hence his successful application into the Internal Affairs Department as an Operative. Barney immediately began to adopt the new working style of an Agent, and put his best foot forward to make a good impression for himself. Feeling happier than ever, he had found his place.

Fast forward several months, Chef had made a name for himself as one of the Internal Affairs Ambassadors, and he continued to work hard and marvel at his transformation from a Security Cadet to one of those "people with the cool-looking red keycards". Chef continued to work part-time in the kitchen, during which times he ███████████████████████████. Unfortunately, during this time, Barney "Chef" was critically injured in the line of duty, following a vicious attack during which he was stabbed several times by a rogue Tech Expert, causing substantial brain and leg injuries as well as the destruction of his entire career. Sure enough, Chef was sent back to the Security Department to assist in menial paperwork duties as a Sergeant.

Fast forward (another) several months, Chef has recovered completely from his injuries, apart from a minor reduction in brain activity. He somehow convinced the Riot Response Team to let him in, presenting his Riot and Heavy Weapons licenses that he acquired over half a year ago (probably expired by now). Barney's work as a Riot Control Sergeant is enriching and truly immerses him in all spheres of Foundation life, albeit this is frequently countered by a previously unforeseen threat. Another Code 2? The tenth one to happen in the last 30 minutes? Yep. And what are the cadets doing to stop it? Killing each other. EACHOTHER. Chef figures he can put a stop to this problem, so he takes somewhat of an intriguing gamble.

Signed,
Riot Sergeant Barney "Chef"
